Hmmm, interesting that Wimps have replaced their two existing brokers (Jeffries and J P Morgan) with two heavyweights (Citigroup and Credit Suisse), both "International". Maybe Wimps is positioning to explore opportunities to increase shareholder value. Seems unlikely that they have fallen out with both current advisors at the same time. Perhaps the brief is to look to be taken private.
Hi WiganW
International? Maybe its the opposite and looking for an International buyer. That's what happened to all my Tech stocks years ago, and with being so undervalued the same could happen again. Management / Directors as happy as sandbags cos will be retained for a while, then sell their shares at much inflated prices and happily retire.
Is this a Surrender?
BoL
That's what happened to my port stocks, all 6 went :))
Don't tell Tom he sold some the other day
Of course, being taken private would probably mean that the intrinsic value in Wimps will be transfer to the acquirer, and not the shareholder. Last accounts estimate that Wimps has ~ £51bn in future revenues from the then current land banks (including options).
Bamps Hi,
Glad I did now :-))))

Tom :-)))
Bamps hi again,
I only sold about 7% that's all. The only reason I sold some was to Top up GGP who are expecting results Thursday 24th so as far as I can see this could have been a good move as we are not really moving much here. Are you still holding there ?
After all this is share dealing and its no good holding all your eggs in one basket as many have said in the past. Its no good talking about an international buyer as this is pure speculation, look at the years ITV have been talking about a take over and that has not happened yet so don't hold you breath on that one.
Maybe we will have some better news next week re you know what but maybe we will see a drop here Monday, maybe !!!!
Have a good w/e

Tom :-))
Hi Tom
I personally hope they don't get taken over, not sure how it would effect our pensions, can't see us making anything out of it. With 3bn shares in issue double the share price would make this around £10bn to buy.
Tongue in cheek we could be buying back the American assets we sold :))
I'm sat on my Ggp shares waiting, my interests at the immediate future are with the 2 drills of Ukog and Cerp, nervously waiting , a lot of money on both but nowhere near your investment in Ggp

Hi Wigan
Could we be listing on Wall St
ATB:))
Hi Tom and Bamps, I suspect you are missing the point. With respect to Tom’s reference to ITV that has no relevance to Wimps, no one who has any experience in capital restructuring and general investment experience ever thought that ITV would be taken over, just chit chat on BB. ITV has been in decline for years, they are old tech compared to their competitors like Netflix etc.
If Wimps go private then that means they are not listed. So, PE will do their thing ( take massive dividends, and cut costs) then prepare to re list on a recognised stock market at some point in the future. Likely a period off five years.
Wigs hi,
As you know the ITV board have been going on for years about T/O etc and I agree with you that its just chit chat without any substance. I think it was in hope rather than fact. My reference to ITV was simply an example of some pointing towards something that has not happened and many pick up on this and the next thing you know everyone is talking about a takeover and that's what happened with ITV. One never can infer if there is a possible T/O or if they intend to go private as its still just speculation without substance unless it is fact and published.
In your opinion would that be better for us private investors ?? as I have never thought about that scenario.
Cheers and have a good w/e

Tom :-)
@WW 'Of course, being taken private would probably mean that the intrinsic value in Wimps will be transfer to the acquirer, and not the shareholder.'
Has to be approved by shareholders and most can see the intrinsic value, so will be at least partly reflected in the acquisition price. We'll do pretty well if that happens, without the risks of holding and something going wrong, like Corbyn/McDonnell gaining power or management doing something stupid. Would be fine with me.
