“ After one day TSCO ran out of steam.”
Tesco has been rallying since 30th of Oct and the rally was supported by higher than normal trading volumes.
I wonder why big sales always show up after 4.30?
Wow good spot mags loads of big buys news gona drop very soon re asia deal and special divi.
Lurker .. plenty big buys late on today suggests you're correct..
Just taking a breather before round 2 ;)
All Christmas slots full and shops are rammed full tesco is the place to go for a day out now with further restrictions more strong results due safe money here.
Lol have you been waiting for a small drop to post that ?? ??
After one day TSCO ran out of steam.
That, coupled with a relatively safe dividend payment, should surely give investors confidence.
Tesco have ramped up their online presence massively during this pandemic and have been able to stay open the whole time along with other essential shops, too.
Patience is a virtue. When the real economic reality hits, few companies will be unaffected.Tesco will in my opinion ride the storm better than others and the share price while not spectacular will still be solid
Well this goes on everyday ; although now it’s a one way in and out at are store it’s less easy , but even if they get caught they’ll be back sadly like the other week they caught a regular and if it’s below £200! The police won’t be called ( so just take a calculator next time x)
In the past I’ve tried to intervene in a push out at another store there was no security guard around he knew I was on to him so stood at the exit near customer services waiting for a manager to come over all but they was all on breaks together so gave up and watched him just push it out , but twittered the time he left the store , no use as it turns out the cameras didn’t work either ( I found this out as a friend works at this store but the mind boggles! )
If I was a member of staff working at the time , I wouldn’t attempt to stop them as you don’t know what they carry and if you get injured it’s your own fault and potentially you could lose your job sad but true.
On a positive note good to see these over 230 finally 1st time since I sold a chunk in spring
Mags
There are two sales, not one. Two regulatory approvals required, not one. Then a GM and then a share consolidation.
Re 230 be 283 very soon what a rise
We are looking imo 260 plus pre div
I think they still have to confirm the sale, which could coincide with announcement of dividend, both would be good for the share price .. the deal is not sealed yet though, but I would guess Thailand wants the supermarket chain back in Thai hands so you would think it would proceed..
What do we all thing will the shares take a hike or hit on the ex date for the 51p then. Do we think that Tesco is able to go north of 250p a share
This could also just be positivity due to the vaccines and the market beginning to price in a back to normality. Chart suggests going back to around 240p. If so then the special dividend is only marginally priced in IMO.
I can only imagine the massive uplift when they announce the special Dividend payment date
Is this a sign of the 51p div, Tesco always give breaking news on a Thursday from what I recall when I was a Store manager. 15 millions shares bought post 225 got to be a sign of some news coming.
If the security guard doesn't seem too bothered, or is busy, then as a customer you're able to go to the customer service desk and ask to speak to the Duty Manager - and pass your observations onto them, so that they can take things further. This should also be done in an inconspicuous manner on their part, so as not to draw attention to yourself.
The method of shoplifting is a pretty common and well-known one as well, simply called 'boxing'. So it's kind of odd that no regular staff or security noticed this whilst the customers were going around store. As you said in your post, there was clearly a level of obliviousness going on during this time. Wonder what your store's shrink is like.
Breaking through 230p, I'm itching to sell but feeling it's got further to go..
There is a monitoring system that randomly checks customers who scan & pay. I’ve experienced it a few times. The staff come over and scan a few of your items at the self checkout to see if they have been scanned by the shopper. It’s a bit hit & miss and I’m sure easily manipulated.
When I was younger I used to feel sorry for the elderly shoplifter, but soon realised that they are just shoplifters who have grown old!
It’ll never stop- has to be factored into sales.
You should have gone over and told the security guard your suspicions, never mind where his attention was diverted. He could have called them back, checked receipts etc to see if you are correct and possibly had an easy 'collar'. Thieves need stopping and there is no point just watching them get away with it (allegedly) then moan on a shares board.
The security guy on duty was standing outside in the exit area looking away from the store . He was watching either the passing traffic or at the lad collecting trolleys. God knows what caught his attention. But he clearly was oblivious to anyone or anything going on back in the store.
