Refer to my post of 5/9/14 where it ( unfortunately) looked as if 12.5 p was likely
I am reliably informed by LinkedIn The new man ex-Ricardo did work at Antonov PLC prior to JCB. Antonov delisted from the AIM market and I am not aware of any Antonov PLC project making production.

Yeah I sold after the last update, very disappointed as I was expecting them to be at the 'taking orders' stage by now, instead it seems like version 1 of their flywheel might have been too expensive, hence the creation of a 'cheaper and easier to assemble' version 2. This would seem to explain the delay, and the return to prototype testing over the last few months. I'm keeping a close eye on this one though, as Avia (I think) are now running an evaluation bus, and they've proved reliability with the track testing; I can't see orders being far off at all. As you've said though the falling oil price doesn't help, but a large part of the cost of fuel is in the governments taxes; so even at $40 a barrel the fuel cost will still be about £1.00 per litre. I'm thinking to buy again in a month or so if I can ever sell some QPP shares for a profit
on 5/9 sp was 16.75 p and I posted that 12.5 p looked likely and its been pretty close to this in the 13s now trading mid 14 p on very low volumes.Regardless of tougher emission control legislation in the years to come ,the falling oil price must be a negative. Also the lack of any sign of meaningful cashflow into the business.Hopefully the new man with JCB past will help....note that he also worked for Antonov!!!!!
And not a mention anywhere?
Interesting times with change of chair, I'm down on this one since I bought at 21. But I'm sticking with it as I get the feeling that they're not far off turning a profit. hoping the statement on the 26th includes a result of the bus flywheel trial, hopefully the start of contracts for installation. /crossing fingers
If their transmission system was any good you would think after 14 yrs at least one company would have fitted it to their range of vehicles ,That tells a story .
If Torotrak ever do manage to secure some significant deals, what do you think the possible share price could be? I have held Torotrak shares for nearly 14 years and have bought more at a much lower price as well. 15 years ago the SP was around £7.00, then fell to £3.50, then when Toyota pulled out of deal dropped to around a £1.20, ever since then Torotrak has bounced from 10p upto 55p for many years. Any views on if things actually can fruition what SP could we be looking at?
It's the first time I've looked on this board for TRK comments - I'm surprised how negative the few comments are. I know it has been a long time but surely the big time could be imminent. The company Board's commentaries seem more genuinely optimistic than before and the company structure and asset base better set than ever. and there does seem to be real engagement with the mainstream motor industry. I've got a decent holding in this and am hanging on for the big news possible over the next few weeks / months. I guess I'm saying jam tomorrow is getting closer. Surely. SO find it really surprising at this potentially last chance to 'get in' time, the share price is actually going lower. So strange.
Year ago about 14/16 yrs ago I made many investments and cant recall if this was one but i do recall researching/reading about it/etc. Been looking this up today and surprised re 5 year SP graph. Did they ever build that money saving energy saving auto box or am I thinking about another outfit? Thanks in advance DYOR ATB
if u r patient?
Sp fallen nearly 25 % since middle of May ...would not like to bet against it not falling further.Target 12.5 p at the current rate of descent?!
of options and LTIP awards ...the management sure are good at looking after themselves
Am disappointed to see the lack of progress but think that there will be applications of Torotrak/ Flybrid technology in the Bus and HGV sectors; however the car sector looks less likely to benefit as the manufacturers seek to improve energy storage. Will be happy to be proved wrong given that there appear to be lots of positives in the world of " downsized" engines that is one of the solutions to meet more stringent emissions targets.
does any one buy this share, got to be one of the worse stocks, another one of Michael walters stocks he follows
geeks perhaps?...but not savvy geeks with an eye on the main chance, alas.. ....they seem content to improve and tinker and have fun... ...WHERE IS THE PROFIT, LADS????
you are not kidding , I would be delighted with 24p I attended last years AGM which gave me a small measure of hope yet here we are a year later and a crap sp to put it crudely. This years AGM is being held next thursday but unfortunately I am away mores the pity else I would ask the board if it isn"t about time they got their collective fingers out and produced something that would result in shareholder value. It must be great to achieve very little and still be able to pick up a nice salary they must think they are bloody civil servants answerable to no one ! Rant over so fellow sufferers have a nice day.
don't butter parsnips
I was thinking along the same lines.... Where I used to work, everyone seemed to have bought shares in Torotrak, I was a lucky one and only invested the beer money I saved by staying in for a weekend @ 24p ..... I bet some are still in here with an average at least 10 times that......
views? Seems a bit like a club for geeky engineers to have some fun...no mention that I could find of PROFIT
Has this IVT thing gone into production yet? Its taken 15+ years so far , in that time Airbus have designed from scratch, built and flew the largest airliner in the world, yet Torotrak cannot get a poxy gearbox to market, it even failed in a lawnmower! What is going on?
& landing... ..can the sp hold above the placement price? If not, will de-risking set in? Or have the placees distributed enough in the spike?
... some 'surprise' ....... Does this count as an achievement .... ? That £200,000 funding for the V Charge project, is scarcely one directors annual salary, so it's not going far between them is it? From Torotrak site, quote John Fuller, Technical Director: " Our technology is forward looking, but our mindset is firmly grounded...... " Prophetic words .........he 'aint kidding!' Like us, I doubt Allison et al., are best pleased! PS I wonder if they would fair better in a brewery? Hmm! Not on balance!
..... and a +235k share buy[+£54k] deal posted today[ late posted from Tues 3rd Jun] .... and not included in either days buy total?]. The waters very muddy/ the plot thickens! Note the 'extorted' SP!
