Dead DUCK !24 Aug 2010 13:38
I am afraid that Torotrak is most definately a dead duck now and that is the reason that I sold all of my holdings at a massive loss after living the " Torotrak dream" for 8 years. In the early years ( around 2000 / 2001 ) when Maurice Martin was CEO, Torotrak ( and its investors ) still believed that they could get their technology into volume production in the automotive market, in fact, Torotrak estimated that they could achieve 80% of the automotive market ! Unfortunately Torotraks future fortunes were based on achieving high volume automotive and many pundits were talking of ridiculous share prices of £ 20 !
Even at this current price the chance of it being a "10 bagger" is very unlikely even if the off highway and truck and bus come off.
To recover my losses, I have invested in the oil exploration sector where 10 baggers do happen ( look at RKH and GKP for example ). I am currently fully invested in Range Resources ( RRL ) which has the potential to be a 20 bagger in the coming years.
Torotraks technology is fantastic without a doubt but unfortunately it appears to be consigned to the museums along with the Betamax video recorder!!
