If anyone doubts the value of Selemo , I have some figures from this extract ....
"Power required to run pumps and metering at the Selemo wells was previously supplied by diesel generators. During the quarter, the Company's operations team replaced a diesel generator with a new gas fired generator, running on the gas being produced from Tlou's wells. This is the first Gas-to-Power via Tlou's CBM, and is a significant milestone for the Company and in effect a proof of concept of 'first gas monetisation'. This achievement reinforces Tlou's view that CBM Gas-to-Power is achievable in Botswana using gas from the Lesedi Project.
The Cummins G8.3 generator can supply up to 60 kVA of power and has been customised to run on a small portion of the gas currently being produced at the Selemo pilot which would otherwise be flared. It is expected that the conversion of generation from diesel to gas will initially reduce the Company's diesel requirements by approximately 50,000 litres per year. These savings should grow with time given that a second gas to power generation unit is planned to be installed. "
50,000 litres is £75k at my local petrol station.
That 50k was 7 years ago so how much has Lesedi pushed it on? If it remained at 50k it the CBM power from Selemo is worth HALF A MILLION QUID at UK pump prices today. Lesedi #3, #4,#5 and #6 surely needed more pumps and metering than Selemo .
The experience above is going to invaluable soon when new generators are installed - history is valuable!
Pep is likely to win the PL for the 4th YEAR on the trot - that will be history for a year! Next year will it be 5?
How many Aussies made a fortune from Arrow and Sunshine shares , and how much did Tony Gilby make personally? He put $28million into TLOU in the early days. How much will that $28m be worth when he calls it a day and makes more history?
History , current affairs or the future? All three beyond the comprehension of the major poster on these pages!
If those figures stack up, you can see why Orapa want to get away from diesel… imagine what their diesel bill is per month
"For starters - amount of elecrticity needed at camp is negligible and i would be confident they shut wells down for extended periods rather than keep flaring methane unnecessarily."
There is the explanation of why dewatering and gas flows results are not being announced!
Everybody knows that Botswana has a huge demand for reliable electricity supplies , and most of us know there is masses of CBM reserves. What is missing is the link between the two! And that is where TLOU comes in.
The individual components are all mutually dependent and every one needs to be in place to go live.
Installing generators before there is a connection to the TX lines is not essential.
Supplying clean gas to the generator home before the generators exist is not essential.
Supplying a mixture of water and gas until the water is removed is madness.
Shutting down wells is madness unless the company will be insolvent if it continues.
Somehow these processes have to be married and it is planned to happen this year!
And we have the right man as the priest to bring them all together.
Accelerating one process is pointless - they ALL need to be managed within the 2024 target!
We only need one well to produce enough gas and #6 is the one from the reports.
Once #6 is dewatered and gas flows rise , the other wells will hopefully follow suit given time.
Max Verstappen and Pep and Tony Gilby will be fascinated to hear their achievements count for nothing in the near future. We are all stupid because we think success breeds success?
The demand still exists, the gas is still there, and the missing link is getting longer by the day!
Who is worried?
Good morning lads, I'm not sure who is speaking factitiously but I'd suggest leaving him to his crayons and colouring book, we've never been closer to our goal and that's a fact.
The last step for this initial phase is debt financing which will hopefully be signed off soon.
That's fictitiously, I better correct myself before he thinks he's gained a point.
You should not speak about Brad like that TB. Disrespectful.
As for a generator capacity - does that mean it was switched on and in use throughout. Really and truly, some basic assumptions used as foundations for opinions here are worse than elementary school.
And YES, Tlou is finally close to its goal of joining the 'grid' - it had better go well dont you think. Because if it doesn't - what might that mean...... Yet more dewatering, wells not performing, flow rates and gas composition problems, ...... Not much scope for many more excuses here - except for the 4 cheerleaders here who believe everything they are spoon fed.
Haha, I think you're probably including me in you fab 4 jape, but if you look back in my posts I don't really fit the spoon fed thing. More bluffing on your part, lol 🙄
