Former Botswana Minerals and Energy Minister Lefoko Moagi has not been convicted of embezzlement, but he faces multiple corruption and money laundering charges involving over P5.1 million in alleged illicit gains.

The charges, which came to light in early 2026, include:P4.7 million Bribery Scheme: Moagi is accused of pocketing P4.7 million from New Energy Company (Pty) Ltd in exchange for approving mining prospecting licenses in Gantsi, Tsabong, and Tutume.

Livestock "Gift": He is further alleged to have obtained 100 heifers and a bull valued at approximately P417,500 from Sieyuan Electric Botswana, a company that held contracts under his ministerial portfolio at the Botswana Power Corporation.

As I said earlier today - his 10MW PPA was well intentioned though misguided.

His English was much better than Eric's which was a blessing. Tis a shame most of his days as Minister were during lockdowns so nothing could help Tlou much.

Moagi was charged with corruption and should have been heard in court on March 27. That was pushed back to May 4 as he is disputing the papers served on him. In order words he is negotiating a deal behind the scenes which may or may not prove successful. Only time will tell. And rest assured I will hear the outcome before you read it in newspapers.

Mzwinila might be the former minister that has absconded to SA. I cannot be certain on that, yet. But I am less interested in him because his corruption was in the Water Utility and not Mining space.

There will be others for sure. However my concern is that it is the weak, dispensable ones that get charged when the real, major culprits buy their way out of jail time. Twas always thus in Africa. And elsewhere I suppose - no point being a virtuous colonialist in shaping opinions. Biggest crook in the world sitting at the seat of power in white house.....

Sadly for Botswana, the Khama family are back in-country. They have much to answer for but sadly it seems UDC and Boko are not gunning for them. Unless of course he is playing the 'keep mine enemies close' strategy. Again only time will tell.

Winni, it occurs to me that , as the only active supporter of TG and Tlou, I might be Bots lifeline to a shareprice that rivals his average price per share. The more I repeat my theory the better he might feel?.

As to the legal proceedings these seem to be headed by Lefoko Moagi and masses of civil servants.

Moagi is accused of money laundering to hide back handers from Asia not Australia. Only in Botswana could someone used a herd of cattle as the means , but previously he was deemed to have stolen a watering trough that was left to rust in a back water somewhere. His guilt or innocence seems totally unrelated to Tlou.

Moagi declared UDI as the Minister and he awarded Tlou a PPA for 10MW when imho they were content with 2 or 3 MW. Moagi clearly assumed that a higher PPA was a perk for TLOU , whereas TG always thought that selling power was never going to be a problem in an energy deficient region.

It was important to Sekaname because their PPA of 90+MW was their carrot for potential investors.

Moagi , and many posters on here , thought this true for Tlou as well. I never attached any importance to the PPA because TG was clearly right! And it seemed that PPA's risked power suppliers being locked in to 2016 prices for many years - especially Sekaname who needed eternity!

His recent tirade towards you bears that out. He remains filtered but after MFM accused me of duplicity I started up a spreadsheet which is a timeline of posts from myself, ripley and donkey to the LSE chatroom.

I am extracting the posts okay , which are bypass the filter of course , but then MFM posted and my mini-project i.e. producing a time chart plotting date, time, and message board for each alter-ego , became pointless. I download those fields alongside message content and other columns which I cannot help seeing as I filter the unwanted columns.

He never addresses the actual issue because he knows he'll lose the argument! So a generic term is all you get from him , and arguing that one not stupid, ignorant, dreaming etc etc makes one appear to be overconfident (big headed). I fell foul of that by quoting my IQ which is still 136 after dropping a bit. I expected a much lower score due to my short term memory faikures which are severe.

Examples are "I predict a riot" signature tune of one of my favourite dart players! I knew his name was Luke but could not get away from Phillips as his surname, knowing it was wrong. Went through the alphabet to no avail before having to google him! Luke Humphries is his name and Hump Three is my moniker for him, and I'd forgotten it.

Another example , football pundit Andy Townsend! I googled Andy K because I could not get Kennedy out of my head. It feels like extreme stupidity , but intelligence is not affected apparently.

This has been a sad share for all of us.

I have watched many respectable shareholders fade away , and throughout that there is the same troll talking about never having been wrong in an undending torrent of half truths and fully blown lies about anything he thinks is harmful to Tlou or Botswana.

MFM exit is a shocker , he must have thought £1m was possible for this share. I was concerned who was giving their stock away in case it was Doc. The evidence was that it could not be him but I never considered that it was one of us! I remember doubting that any of us had 3m shares when that was a pertinent holding for a while (dunno why now) and MM told me that I'd be surprised how many people owned 3m!!!

Please tell me, I was not responsible for MFM's exit. I still feel guilty that I encoraged BytheSea to stick to his holding. I have always stuck with mine, because through thick and thin, I always thought the price was about to start climbing. And the partnership this past year is the same!!! We have never been closer to a boom!

One announcement confirming Kala are funding Tlou is it all it needs.

When MFM asked me for the date this was going to come, I never thought for a nano-second that I might influence him in his decision to hold or sell. May Day without 1 month trial , and end of May if they needed to check the reliability of flows for a month ( confirming last year's trial) is what I really think.

MFM was not messing , he allowed me 4 days over the weekend , but the gravity of that went over my head!

As far as I can see not one Minister has been charged as yet .. And if it not related to Tlou or the PPA then it’s it irrelevant in the context of this subject.

Also TG exiting the country? as far as I’m aware TG is a citizen of Australia and resides there so not sure what you mean by exiting the country. And on that point how do you know whether or not he’s been back to Botswana since he stepped down. He is still available to the company as an adviser at the very least. And considering they have been examining the wells and the Geological formations around the well site then he quite possibly could have been in country for this!

And your problem Winni is you think you know something about Botswana and CBM and the environment and the actors (all of them mostly bad). When in actual fact you know jack ....

I am unwaivering in my belief however. The old Tlou you describe over a decade looks decidely dodgy in your sentiment. It almost bears out Donkey statements about funding and convertibles bla bla bla.

But the last decade for me was a 2 year joyride , followed by 2 years of Govt/BPC delay, then 4 years of lockdowns/Covid that kyboshed Tlou who did well to survive. But the cost was the loss of our faith in the share, and then the cavalry arrived! Kala ! And a viable Tlou was created out of the ashes.

I insist that the partnership is onl 6 to 8 weeks old - AI live on a small scale can be claimed to be half the Tlou role imho. Kala are sensibly upgrading to Solar so funding can be repaid without the need for dewatering.

And if Tlou are permitted to fund the PPA for 2/3 MW using Solar too , 2026 will be exciting.

Tlou were always going to be expanding gas flows as a long term mission if all their plans.

But doing that interest free with money paying off debt via Solar is nothing short of miraculous.

No hard feelings about the ripley mistake , you have been very understanding and given me your time on many occasions and I appreciate that. Looking at the order list there is a chance of buying back at a profit.

2 Ministers already charged. Forensic report released a week ago. Names not yet released - cannot but they know who they are. TG exited the country and isn't coming back. BPOPF are in to the neck - and Tlou has probably ruined CBM in Botswana (along with Sekaname). TG still has to deal with his assertions to the Doc who i suspect is not happy he is staring multi-million loss. Do you think this plays out on FB.... I know I don't.

i sold up last night. i've given this company way longer than i should have done. regardless of what they do in the future there is an opportunity cost of having money tied up in a company like this that has been progressing but at a rate that is so so slow it often feels like wading through treacle.

i lost most of what i invested here. plus as i mention there is the opportunity cost of missing out on dozens of other stocks that are progressing faster and to be honest, now have better prospects (in my opinion).

so i sold these and some from another share and consolidated more into bezant resources which is looking to enter production in a couple of months to take advantage of the historically high copper prices. i held a lot of those already and figured i'd lower my average there by taking the hit here.

it's been a tortuous grind here. i know all brad's excuses and justifications but every company had to cope with covid and every company has multiple obstacles to overcome.

let's face facts, i reckon i've wasted circa a decade here and what do they have to show for that? no where near enough! is the answer. no tx line up and running, poor gas rates, no transparency around gas rates, no sapp sales, no solar, no hydrogen, no clear or transparent funding path. if you really look at this project as a whole it's been a mess. tg sloping off with no explanation, colm forever promising stuff that never materialises, a strategy that changes more often than i change socks andso many missed timeslines and broken promises. it's a **** show and i'm done with it.

i hope it all comes good for everyone that's left and in a timeframe that you can get some value out of but i'm out and as soon as i sold i felt a weight had been lifted. may we all prosper with our respective endeavours. i won't be looking in again as i've had enough of the brad v donkey farce to last me a lifetime! funny how that little farce is a kind of analogy for this farce of a company. anyway i bid you all farewell!
