Why would the higher tariff cease at transfer date?
If I said back in year dot that transmission lines all end up under BPC ownership, according to your post I am undependable. Interesting logic, even for you.
Zippy, my RNS engine is working and I think I can safely rule out any announcement on the adoption of TX gear by BPC there!
That leaves MM support for the idea on Jan 25th , plus mine , which quoted Moago from year dot.
I wonder if Colm said it in a podcast , but if he did , Colm and Moagi are hardly dependable!
Thornback mentioned an established process called BOT , Build-Operate-Transfer , and wondered if had been modified by BPC/TLOU? In it's original form, the transfer is agreed for a forward date , typically 20 or 30 years on.
I am guessing that the higher tariff for the power will cease at the transfer date, the TX line costs covered!
I cannot find a BT (Operate period nullified) which Moagi said was the deal! I am now doubting it!
Over to you MM , where did you get your info?
Yelp!!!! Just started reading it and realised that link is for March 31st 2021 , not 2022, I assumed 2022 RNS's would be at the top without actually looking!
Any electricians out there? Yesterday I got home from my dog walk and found the lights had tripped on two trips!!!! Rest them both ok but one of them still trips every few hours!
I have one bulb burning, one of those that takes a while to get to full brightness (and comes staright back to full when the trip is reset). I have a TV signal booster in the loft and the TV up there on standby! I wonder if the rat has chewed through the insulation on a wire and shorts it? Can trips themselves develop faults though??
Sorry about the red herring - the 2021 RNS appears the same as the mystery one!!!!
I'll have to sort the combobox methings!

I am setting up my search of RNS's to do what Zippy wants.
Testing revealed the above Mysterious link which came from the RNS on LSE (which does not show it at all).
Of course I tried it, and it produced a different version of the RNS - I'll leave you to decide if it is better - and will be amazed if you don't like it :O)
Yer it is!

‘…. the woman who had slept her way to the top’
Well, that should raise more than a few eyebrows given today’s perception of old school, mysognistic attitudes etc. Rather than report your post (always the easy cop out option) I prefer to point out it merely reaffirms in your own mind what a legend you once were.
PS Zippy as MM the question. Is it so utterly impossible for you to let anyone else speak for themselves on this message board.
It goes back to the beginning Zippy , I am not sure if I got it from Moagi on ADVFN and it checked out, or whether in the early days I trusted him and took his word for it?
Nobody seems to dispute the idea (so far) and I think I did corroborate it at time - but where I cannot remember!
PY , sorry to have taken so long to respond. I have been beavering away on your idea of showing ticks!
I thought the ticks must be in the no-man's land between posts and I just had to pick them up from there!
Not so! They are generated in Javascript by LSE after the reach your browser! And they are produced selectively i.e. on all the main pages, but not on any pages for personal threads.
I was hoping to report back it was complete but no luck at all! There are loads of scripts and I cannot even find which one does the work for {reply , recommend and Report post}!
I smiled at your "life of a programmer" . Even worse is being freelance! The permies take the credit for what you achieve, and the contractor gets the flack! Pitting the world torights will stop a renewal at some places and it is drummed into you by agencies not to cause problems for the benfit of freelance industry (and their commission no doubt). I once agrred to spend 6 weeks finishing off a project for zero pay when my agent was called in!
He said the IT director wanted me out if I did not accept! I accepted and the IT man cut me off before I finished my reply!!!! We are not going to rob you like that he said! And offered me £600 pw as a goodwill gesture for accepting his terms! That was over half my rate at the time!
TLOU management are fantastic comapred to the woman I was dealing with at the client! A household name and a woman whohad slept her way to the top from the accounts I heard! I never got the benefit of her talent, just changes in their technical requiremnts from visit to visit! It was crazy!
MM can you tell me where it has been announced that the transmission lines will be transferred to the BPC. I've been back over quite a few RNS's and cannot see this anywhere.
I bow to your superior knowledge Moagi!
It never occured to me that the crypto industry that spoke with Tlou had a lesser depth of knowledge than you have about their own industry! I must be stupid!!!!
I suspect Batman never realised either? What a cretin you are Moagi!
Personal histories have been restored by LSE btw - was it suspended for Xmas holidays or did it take a lot of sorting out?
My opinion is crypto mining will never see the light of day here. That is my point. And my reasons have been given.
You can waffle all you like about it, as you usually do.
Read the Mmegi links - crypto will likely be regulated soon. That will kill 80% of the chancers wanting to give this a go. The rest will have either expertise or a balance sheet - and none of their staff are going to want to work in a data centre out in the Bush at Lesedi.
There is as much to do at Lesedi as there is intelligent practical thoughts passing through your vacuous numbskull.
No need to listen to me - wait for your Batman and see if he embraces the opportunity. At least he has sort of an idea about the requirements here - clearly You Do Not !!
Or do you want us all to believe you have researched it these past 24 hours and now you can tell us all we need know….. YAWN

Stop talking about crypto mining - it will never happen for Tlou selling a power Offtake to anyone. They need to connect to the grid, then sell into the grid, establish themselves as a steady state supplier of power, and then maybe they will be able to look for 3rd party offtakers. "
You what? Don't chat ON TOPIC on a chatroom??????
I think you should ask LSE (either) to set up a Bradsmith epic - then you can talk about him there as it is what your like to talk about! Get a new moniker too whilse you are at it! STALKER_not_Talker might be fitting!
If anybody wants to report Moagi for Stalking me - please do! I cannot do more than filter him!

Get real FFS.
Smith - Morris is laughing his leg off at you mouthing off your usual total irrelevancies.
And the management team will be lapping all the BS talked about crypto since that means less time spent criticising them as to why progress on the company’s number 1 priority is slow.
This is worse than amateur hour !!
Crypto Mining
During the quarter the Company held discussions with an international crypto mining organisation to use Tlou's electricity to mine crypto currencies such as Bitcoin. The Company is evaluating the merits of this possibility which could lead to another avenue to generate income from Tlou's gas. The potential exists to generate revenue from this project while the grid connection infrastructure is being built.
"could lead to another avenue to generate income"
"The potential exists to generate revenue from this project "
"Because how is it going to bring in early revenues? "
"An avenue and potential" do not equate to "going to bring in" !
The statement surprises me from the "while the grid connection infrastructure is being built." looks short term to me!
So short term than I fully expected us to be limited to SOLAR at MAMBA!
The chances of gas being produced at Mamba in time is absolute zero -273 Kelvin so SOLAR is 100% imho!
My stupid assumption would therefore be that the Crypto concern is thinking of relocating existing equipment or the items are available off the shelf? Long term , they will still be there and maybe gas will be preferable to Solar (or Green Hydrogen which also needs Solar). The Jack and Jill tale contimues to ring true! We do have to climb a hill to get the water though!
Because how is it going to bring in early revenues? It’s just another thing they’ve plucked out of thin air imo!
What happened to solar? Hydrogen is probably a year away from being meaningful to us imo!
Have you read your own ridiculous post about the wires?
They will be installed to a high spec level imo and will be inspected many times to make sure of this as they get installed!
These crypto farms are often out in the middle of of nowhere, so there's nothing weird about the prospect of setting one up at lesedi.
Reading this article, it's easy to see why Tlou are having discussions to supply electricity for a crypto farm.

Whizzer, do you realise what you are saying?
TLOU gives us no news and they do not meet with your approval!
TLOU tells us about an unlikely but conceivable buyer in the crypto trade and do not meet with your approval!
Can you spot a pattern?
Like I said the crypto bull**** is to take the gaze away from the job in hand imo!
The money raised for poles and wires last year will no doubt be just wasted on salaries but let’s see!
Beyond stupid as usual, and now Morris has joined in your low end intelligence, which now extends to Think Tank Guru saying BPC will buy any old rubbish Tlou deign to give them at time of handover. And our so-called Influencer not being able to piece together the risk management steps associated with a BOT project.
Plus the Influencer doesn’t have the gumption to appreciate what that Govt is a collective for government, ministries, parastatals and operating companies therein.
I am looking forward to the explanation as to how crypto generates early stage revenue for Tlou prior to the transmission line being ready.
You really are covering yourselves in glory at present.
All the news about crypto does is give the bod something to talk about while they continue to produce very little a bit like the hydrogen news last year! Deflects the gaze away from the main issue which is the cbm project!
Good stuff from the same hymn sheet MM!
Moagi introduced me to the machinations of power lines in my early days, and the story has never changed.
Imho it is stupid, TLOU can go for the cheapest poorest quality lines that BPC will accept , and BPC will pay for their shortcomings! It is akin to paying a fixed fee to a marriage bureau who find the first woman on the street for you within 10 minutes?
(I recall my CTRL/+ yesterday - and tried it here and it works the same! Happy days! I usually drag this box to the maximum and then the cursor jumps around randomly. CTRL/+ expands everything automatically. Old dog, new tricks?)
The prototype, I agree, is earmarked for Lesedi because that was the deal! Gas that is being flared! But once the partnership completes their trial , yesterday's RNS suggests a live operation, fingers crossed, will move to Mamba or die for the time being, and it will be all systems go at Lesedi for CBM power as per the original plan!
It makes sense but there is potentially a problem if the trial is neither successful nor an obvious failure - how long can TLOU tie up Lesedi? SM appear to be going for short timescales which is exactly what we need and probably encouraged TLOU's support!
That support imho is why we are getting no news!!!! We don't want to undermine SM's efforts!
Contractual obligations, rights and responsibilities of the parties getting to your simple end state, desktop model is what I was talking about.
And yet the bod drag their heels still in getting started! No value added for years = a very poor management team!
The transmission line to Serowe will, as always intended, be transferred to the ownership of the BPC, who have a monopoly on transmission infrastructure within Botswana.
This works for Tlou as the BPC then take responsibility for maintaining and repairing the line all the way from Serowe to Lesedi. No risk for Tlou.
Tlou are compensated for the line CapEx through a better tariff on the electricity they produce.
There is no Government lien over the transmission line because the funding is not from the Government. It is from the BPOPF - an independent pension fund.
Solar will be at Lesedi, because that's where the field operation is and the transmission line begins anyway. Solar power will be useful for any crypto mining and 'greening' the hydrogen and carbon products produced by the Synergen Met tech.
The Synergen Met methane pyrolyzer will be sited at Lesedi because that's where the gas comes out of the ground.
All pretty straightforward really.
Winni - please refer my comment in Time to disect the OR post.
Who will own the transmission line? BPOPF are lending money to Tlou, to be spent on transmission line and power generation assets.
What is the collateral for the loan?
I think probably the transmission line is since Tlou get the money to build it, prove that power generation works and can be steadily delivered into the grid. Great if all goes well….
If it doesn’t, BPOPF have a charge over the transmission line for their loan which they exercise. They take control of say just the transmission line and they back to back that to BPC, who have expanded the grid into a reasonably remote part of Botswana but at least for BPOPF and BPC, they get something back for the initial loan to Tlou.
If the gas to power generation part doesn’t work, then it’s curtains for Tlou anyways. It would be stupid to locate a solar farm at Lesedi without corresponding gas power generation - that can be done much closer to urban areas (and still be 5-10 km away, not 100km).
Hydrogen - it has a long way to go as well as a POC, and locating it 100km from Serowe (or large urban area on road network) also seems stupid - but happy for someone to explain why such remote locations make sense.
Just my thinking out loud - not saying all or any of this is on the money. But I see sense in parts for sure, especially the lien over transmission line so that Bots Govt can demonstrate good risk management when putting citizens money to work….
Truth is there must be a plan or else why would they have been given the finance at such a favourable rate.. There’s no way the Botswana pension company would loan against a lot of hearsay and speculative Business opportunities .. surely ?
I like Kaleidoscopes too Whizzer.
