Thats a nice no but im still not top slicing
Hi can someone explain by what is shorts means as new
“The shorts halving” is not likely to be correct - only the declarable (at least 0.5%) positions have. Some have dropped to just below that threshold, as you can see on Shorttracker, not closed their position entirely.
Morning per ardua ad astra, you make some very good and valid points, the shorts halving in the last few weeks is a very good sign for us longs. Plus no offence taken, this is what a discussion board is all about. Have a great day
It’s great that we have some new members on the board and some new PIs. But from what I can find out, it appears this surge in volume is PI’s not II’s and I expect the spell of good weather has worked its magic and got some new recruits who want to be part of this great news UK story. We still haven’t had any more TORPs, news on St2, news on build progress etc.... so the risk profile is the same yet we have seen this surge. I’ve been with SXX for 3 yrs and bought all the way through from low teens to 50p with a substantial holding. A period of stability then some REAL news and subsequent II holdings increase are the things I’ll get excited about. This share is still too much PI driven but I still smile every day when I see the blue days and remind myself this is a long term project with benefits for many people(it took a lot when I was £120k down). Bring on the news, let’s hope lots of progress at site is being made in this good weather and GLTA
''Shorters are having to close their position to meet a margin call'' ..... Good morning, Kapersky. Please don't be overly offended, but to my mind such a statement - whilst potentially accurate in the odd case or two - is little more than speculation somewhat akin to someone else hypothesising 'holders will have to sell to pay off their credit cards'. There may be someone feeling the heat with a margin call somewhere, however, I think it would be somewhat naive for investors here not to appreciate that the vast majority of short positions held in Sirius will not be closed out with any ''short squeeze'' at all. Rather, they will most likely be closed through bond conversions. Of course the corollary to that is any potential selling pressure from bonds that are converted has already been absorbed by the market via the initial short positions themselves. Regards, per ardua ad astra
I agree that an upsurge in price is on the cards. Shorters are having to close their position to meet a margin call; others may be forced to cover, subject to the terms under which they borrowed the stock, if the person who lent the stock wishes to sell and take a profit. Since covering their positions involves buying shares, the short squeeze causes an ever further rise in the stock's price, which in turn may trigger additional covering.
News of it could be released imminently going by the recent upsurge in the sp and daily volumes and if it contains any dilution to shareholders whatsoever then as the dragons in the dragons den might say "I'm out"
SXX-Pound-Party Read it thanks. Hopefully the strategy I described at 17:02, which was based on observation over the last couple of years and enacted in 3 tranches at around 28p ( to preserve gains made ) will stand me in good stead. The shares sold realised a profit which so far is slightly more than the loss incurred not holding them. Holding the cash to see which way the wind blows - either an opportunity to buy back more cheaply and increase my holding, or invest elsewhere, diversifying and increasing my opportunities ( or risk ). Either way as I say having given it a lot of thought I'm happy, it feels like a win win and its good to have 13k available for any opportunity that arises. Will my resolve break and will I buy more at a price which will increase my average ( a mistake I made big time in 2016 ) only time will tell. Enjoy. GLA LTH - watching the 175,000 with interest !
Anyone any views on stage 2 financing? I'd be interested to hear people's viewpoints. Thanks.
Hi SXX PP. I think he is all in SXX now obviously built up a serious holding. He'll have a share of mine as well when I pop my clogs. Oh to have decades to reap the dividends. I expect I'll need to cash some in to fund our care in the future. I consider we are very lucky to be around when this venture got off the ground. GL all LTHs
Suggest everyone has a read of ppvns thoughts on the other board regarding the shorts- hugely insightful
rekrab I retired at 53 and now living the dream. Anything that I profit from SXX will be for the beneficiaries of my will to enjoy. Id like a couple of nice holidays from the dividends before I pop my clogs. OR
Remember, this just a chat room, CF and the board are not your pals, and most of all take it easy when you sit down - you might get concussion.
It would seem S2 funding is sorted then :-)
I’ve never such such obvious ramping. Give it a rest #whataloadofhorseshit
RE passing on recommendations to friends, relatives. Personally, something I'd never do in case it goes tits up. I'm not averse to taking a rec off them but that's all. Hoping soon they will be asking why I didn't tell them about SXX as they would've loved a bit of the 1+ action. Tough :)
SXX PP Came out of HUR to go all in here, reckoned it will multiply quicker.
Phone back on - looks like we did make 35p at some point - how good is that ....
Scot 5 years mmmm - no idea - But I can almost guarantee you it will not be called Sirius Minerals - I am 57 - my family history says 77 is a good innings - so 1 and I'm out - if its tomorrow - if its 2021 - that's my out price -- regardez
Chesh - apologies. 'Developer' then!
Well played WHATIF! You did well to jump on board when you did. I've no regrets. Just good to see the rise.
