I must admit I've got a lot of faith in the future prospects here,a decent update will make me a happy chappy!
You should be over the moon; but in your place I wouldn't sell yet. I've just topped up with another 20000!
Certainly interesting 29. What will be even more interesting will be if whoever is behind it adds to the holding with the apparent move in the USD. I m more interested in the longer term advantage of a significant development in the exchange rate .(still dreaming Downunder)
Noticed on sun web site under major share holders Bank of New York nominees now have 19m shares any thorts?
Any thoughts on the strengthening US currency? If it beds in it can only make us more competitive and more profitable. Why bale out when other things can happen?Factory aside Id like to see a brilliant new product that takes the world of Laproscopic surgery by storm-or am I dreaming?

Fall before the rise? Looking to buy more at under 5

Don't be misled the "sell" of 10k @ 12.24 was a buy!
Surgical Innovations Group plc (AIM: SUN), the designer and manufacturer of creative solutions for minimally invasive surgery ('MIS'), announces the appointment of Rick Barnett as President of US Sales and Operations with immediate effect. Rick joins the Company from Integrated Medical Systems Inc where he worked in the Management and Consulting Division. He managed a division that provided on-site clinical support for minimally invasive procedures. Rick previously served as the US Senior Director for Intuitive Surgical and between 1998 - 2008 as National Director for Endoscopic Sales within the Stryker Corporation. An important focus for SI's strategy moving forward is to drive the SI Branded products through investment in Sales and Marketing especially in the US where it is ideally placed to leverage its growing position in this market. Rick will have responsibility for managing the various US sales channels SI have previously established and will aim to grow the US business utilising his vast experience in the endoscopic sector. The US remains SI's largest market opportunity, with 28% of overall revenues generated from the US in 2012. Graham Bowland, Chief Executive Officer for Surgical Innovations, said: "Rick Barnett is an outstanding appointment for SI as we continue to develop our presence in the US market. He brings with him extensive knowledge of the endoscopic industry and a proven track record in developing new business and sales opportunities that will enable him to accelerate the growth of the SI business in the United States." OK then...lets see this translate into an SP uplift please.
You did well to leave alone, sitting on your hands is not easy when it comes to Oilies and Miners, the MM's make em look good, when in reality they're still on a downward spiral. All quiet here, Nothing doing until the next update, can't wait!
Hi, Luckily I hesitated with NOP and the SP plunged 12%. I'm not convinced they're a sound buy so will look elsewhere I think. I agree with you sentiments r.e. SUN director buys and concur with Modsa r.e. alternative markets. Australias rolling in it having avoided any downturn whatsoever...let's flog them some gastric bypass kits!
I like the fact they are engaged with an international advisory board. If they can broaden their market to take in Europe and the emerging markets it will provide a useful shield against any fall back in US orders. The reliance on the US for sales has worried me!
Should like to see more performance related options rather than what we see from options awards RNS. The significance of director buying sends out a clear message to current and prospective investors and in general has a favourable impact on the share price. Although I accept what you say that they do not have to, in a way it all comes down to Market signals and how one interprets them! How did you do with NOP? Oilies are heavy going at the mo.
But why buy at this price when they get such generous options. Last year G.Bowland bought over 6 million at an average SP of 2.2p!! So I suppose we can say that the recent absence of director buys is not surprising and not indicative of the value of the company.
I agree with you, director buys instead of granting cheap options to execs tends to be a more favourable sign of confidence, especially when the SP has received a hammering, maybe PI's see more of the angles, we only get paid by results, when we can find a winner.
I hold 70% in O&G, trying to move away, so can't advise NOP, Re falling knives I agree been caught a few times but I tend to scrutinise the company well and set bottom target, so if the fundamentals are good and believe the spin overblown as with SUN, I know it's only a matter of time, all companies go through bad periods it's only natural, buy on the dips, there's a lot of rubbish out there so be selective and try to resist temptation with crap stocks, remember the Market is designed to take your money!
At these prices and a buy reccomendation from Ireland; why aren't the directors buying?
I like the idea of bottom feeding but usually end up catching that falling knife! Any thoughts on NOP? They're at a low, make a profit but I think have a poor management according to the BB's. No divi's but often see 10% up/down swings over a month.
You've done well pinto, bought in at rock bottom, now all you need to do is use the formula for future share trades. Bottom fishing is easy in hindsight........decisions.....decisions
Hit my average....now a steady sustained rise please.
