Q, you're ignoring the manner in which SC answered the question about production. He was far from being unequivocal.
What he is very clear about is putting the building blocks in place to ensure we're on the front foot when it comes to negotiations, and this links back to his comment about presenting a turnkey project.
RK, the point I was trying to make is that whatever the motivation, it was a very strange thing to do and I can't see why it he thought it a sensible comment. I sent an email to our esteemed investor relations person, but inevitably I haven't received a reply.
Eloro, I had no idea you didn't rate SC.
My thinking is this.
We have committed to raising the money to construct Cascabel.
The government has confidence that we can do this.
Therefore where does the money come from.
I am favouring a mix of offtake and loans and no further dilution.
I strongly suggest that Franco Nevada would like to see an increase in the amount of offtake they can get in the early years.
And by funding us it protects their original investment and gets them to profit faster.
I believe we now have the ultimate defence in place now.
Hence why we hired the two money men recently.
If we were going to be sold, we wouldn't have required them.
But in order to take Cascabel forward they are absolutely required.
U.S bonds have been in a downward trend for many months now, debt is ridiculous now. Petrodollar is being dropped big time by many, now U.S thinking of the gold standard which would undermine the dollar even more, they are in a mess.
Have a look at this, gold now going to be so significant going forward.

Great work DK …. Thanks
Increasing de-dollarisation will light a fuse under the gold price as international liquidity moves away from US denominated bonds to gold and other non-US fixed interest securities
Thank you for the article.
Makes interesting reading.
As reported on here, we have the explotation license.
Also it says Solgold have committed to the billions required.
Not that we are going to sell or anything else.
It is unequivocally reported that we have committed to the spend and we will construct Cascabel.
No ambiguity whatsoever.
Very positive here lately, and happy to see us back over 10p. Price action since Xmas has been ridiculous. That said, and ever the Solg pessimist, we’ve all seen too many false dawns here for me to allow myself to get over excited just yet, especially in the absence of news.
DK,
Thanks for the info, looking like you are correct, hope you make a killing.

Darren, a poster posted the translation on the other BB.
Here is the Spanish link which Google can translate:
https://www.imbaburaenlinea.com/2024/03/26/alcalde-de-ibarra-se-reunio-con-representante-de-solgold-para-conocer-los-beneficios-sociales-y-economicos-del-proyecto/
Hi add...I think it was a deliberate tease, scripted, to flush out bids...
Of course a Board recommendation counts for a lot but the Noront Board recommended Wyloos bid of 55 cents but after BHP weighed in they ended up paying 110 cents...
What strikes me is that the video was filmed on 16 March, between PFS3 and Blanca Nieves...
I think they held it up until they were advised GDX, GDXJ and COPX were Rio for take off and the timing was perfect...
Viewed first 13.00 Oz, AM London and AM Canada...which piqued retail investors, started the SP spike and kept the momentum going for 36 hours.
If you think about it anyone coming fresh to SOLG would see the video or hear the fact and think...8.5p...24p...easy triple bagger...
This thing will either end in a major JV or Jiangxii owning the most mining real estate in Ecuador on the back of a fruitful trade deal with China...
Add, you know the answer but you are playing the 3 wise monkeys card when it comes to your beloved Scott The Rocks Caldwell 😆 The man is not CEO material, plain and simple. But, for some odd reason, Bob seem to trust him to take care of solg. Hence, we have to tolerate him. I will change my view of the yokel if he can pull off a good deal here. Knowing Canadian women, I can understand why his wife would want to bump him off 😆
HfH, the problem with this is that a Board recommendation is significant when it comes to a takeover. However, I can't see Mather accepting an offer at this level.
What I don't understand is why he chose to answer this question when he could have so easily have side-stepped it? And why did the interviewer come up with such a random number? Was this simply a mis-step, or was it done deliberately?
I'm sure it has happened before, but I can't recall a CEO of public company making such an observation, particularly as we are in a period of heightened speculation. It's all very odd, especially as SC would lose out on his options.
Gino. next tax year i am all in. so few weeks and sh or bust!!

Evening all. I sent the facebook post from mayor of Ibarra to a couple of friends to translate and it confirms my interpretation of it. It clearly states that the permit has passed from exploration to exploitation. Why would the mayor put that in the public domain if it wasnt true? My only reservation is why there wasnt an RNS today? Maybe SC has become Ecuadorian very quickly and manana will do? Maybe tuesday ? But if true a great piece of the jigsaw !! My contact at the council said this happened wednesday. She is solid and reliable, so why would she say it if it were not true?? She was actually the secretary of the very same mayor when he was in his first stint as mayor. Furthermore she is the mother of my first 2 kids !!
