Thought Ecuador was one of the safer investment jurisdictions in S America ? We’ve had it !
Solg messed about, playing corporate greed games instead of selling the asset. Now the jurisdiction is falling apart. All that remains is for the gangs to take over, then confiscate cascabel, never mind nationalisation. Solg, never fail to disappoint. I can see Scott The Rocks Caldwell hightailing it back to Canada given the unrest.
Good grief, Eloro! Yes, it is a difficult situation, but you appear to be doing a very good Corporal Jones impersonation. Get a grip!
...aaaand Eloro has shown his true colours and goes to the bin!
Paddy, it wasn't that long ago that a leading politician got shot dead for standing up to gangs. In the polls... safety and crime etc was the hghest point on all voters lists. Noboa vowed to get on top of it. One wonders whether Correa is behind the recent gang land disagreements as it helps his cause heading into next elections in 13 months time or via his proxy candidate.
I think shooting a politician is shocking. Gang men breaking into live TV stations also shocking but why do it? Either they are thick ... or they deliberately wanted to get maxmium PR... eg.. makes life more difficult for Noboa.
Good post Fort. Recommended
Paddy... if you google news on Chile, Peru, Colombia, Brazil...the list goes on... you'll find loads of unsavory stuff. Doesn't seem to bother the Super majors mining over there lol!
South America is a hot bed and it's ironic that the US knows all about the drugs cartels and routes to US yet seems to do little about it. Makes you wonder whether they see cocaine as an important import lol!
Anyway... Ecuador certainly much better and safer than majority of them which is why I think the BBC seems to pick up on Ecuador stories rather than bother with Brazil or Chile or Peru et al. Old news I guess.
The colombians are key. Far more involved than many think in Ecuador. Been going on for decades.
But it serves as a reminder why SOLG's assets will eventually go for a price that reflects South American past deals rather than any deals involving safer regions. Regional risk was priced in long ago. Chinese must be mopping up this loose stock day in and day out and laughing their heads off. At this rate, they will probably get around 15% stake at net ave of 10p a share. You won't see a TR1 though lol!
Adikt, you clearly need to get a grip.
Not eloro. Even your won't be able to smooth talk a positive on what's going on.
Don’t worry about the drop, it’s just those pesky market makers and other dark forces manipulating the stock price.
There are plenty more levels of cards to built on this house yet.
Just keeping buying, don’t miss the opportunity.
Out of the 60,000 companies that are listed, this has to be the best place to put your hard earned dollars.
Although there is absolutely no evidence I am sure the Chinese are buying more stock and any day their offer for the lot will land, just you wait and see.
No mining company cares about political and social stability, it comes with the territory.
Forget what the professionals say, what do they know anyway..
And so what if it doesn’t turn out well and you lose the lot, you can always earn more right? Who needs a 501k anyway, retirement is overated!
And even is you do lose the lot, at least you can hold your head high with an empty investing account and say you went down with the ship.
Texas who were you before or as well?
The truth
I work for a hedge that is currently buying blocks of the stock.
To be honest we are getting worried about the liquidity of the stock so we are trying to entice retail investors to part with their shares.
We are very adapt at clandestine buying though and use several different companies to build a significant holding, so you won’t see any Tr1, before you ask.
I can’t say anymore, I have already said too much.
Ho, ho! Reminds me of 1981(Stackhigh) and his story a while back about buying on behalf of a client. I also seem to recall he came up with a brilliant story about some hidden and hitherto unknown financial instrument, which he claimed was going to cause armageddon. It didn't, but it gave us a good laugh.
Incidentally, the word is 'adept', not 'adapt'.
Reminds me of what you said in November:
"Others will talk of verified rumours, inside information etc."
Not sure why you're mentioning me, add. 1981 is a name used by slug.
I clearly hurt you last November, and have since proved you're FOS with your expectations of a quick sale, but don't go dragging me into other nonsense. Thanks.
More like Capt Manwaring Add:)
Slug is 1984. And I didn't predict a quick sale.
Quite right, you hate all definitive statements (still chuckling at the irony that clearly passed you by when you said that). You didn't predict an imminent sale (you never say anything of meaning), you simply accused me of making baseless claims that there wouldn't be a sale. And remind me, was I correct?
It will shock you, add, but I suspect slug might have had several other identities before his latest?
I am pretty sure it wasn't my post which caused the SP to tank this morning. TheItalian, I thought you already filtered me! Month after month, same dung, different day. Nothing for us to celebrate. My true colours are that I am fed up with the ineffective CEO. I said before, we could have a Panama situation here. Although with what's going on, it will be the gangs, not the government who will be taking Cascabel from Scott The Rocks Caldwell. Pitiful!
Texas, how refreshing for someone to put the good news boys down with a bit of humour,
issue is mate, adikt and co probably believe you, anything positive posted on here has got to be true,
anyway. keep it up, even if it does go over Aquinas head, most things do
I'll tell you exactly what I got wrong. I assumed the SR would have been completed by y'e '23. I was mistaken and am happy to admit it.
As for your no sale comment, that will only become true if the company enacts a jv or decides the whole thing was a big joke and Cascabel doesn't really exist. To remind you: despite what you may think, you know no more than the rest of us.
Eloro,
You should read some of Noboa's responses. It's likely to be the other way around... with Noboa going hard core and basically wiping the cartels out... bit like Israel on Gaza... all rules broken and US turns blind eye ... mmm.
Fort, the US have told the government that they're happy to help in whatever way is needed. Given their track record, I'm not sure Nobby would be too comforted by that!
Cheers Fort, I believe it when I see it. When I see body bags, then I will know that DN is not man to be trifled with.
