Season, seems we’re just ticking along here , waiting for something Big to Happen?
Hopefully someone will make a move before year end
GLA LTH But can wait till 23 if it gets the right Buyer?
Thanks to all the guys who have held back from the bickering and insults. We are bonded here by patience and a singular belief that SOLG will enhance our quality of life one day.
In a funny sort of way, when this is done I shall miss you guys...
It was such a pleasure to wake up to calm and forbearance...
Cheers
Here here!
Well said RK
Interesting article
https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/bhp-needs-pay-more-ev-clean-energy-metals-it-returns-dealmaking-2022-08-09/
“The OZ deal is the second time a takeover bid by BHP has failed since it simplified its structure over the past year, unifying its London and Sydney public holdings in a single Australia listing, to become nimble for potential investments in "future facing" commodities”
Hear, Hear, Redknight1. But heck, our patience is wearing thin and we are tested to the limit!
Like many LTH here, I cannot see a disastrous outcome for us. There has to be an upturn soon!
It pains me to say this but with every passing week SolGold is looking more like Sirius Minerals less like Noront Resources.
We all have to retain hope that there won't be a disastrous outcome for us but at the same time acknowledge that one is very much at the table. What happens will depend on the performance of our management from here.
We're goimg to be very low on funds come Nov/Dec amidst a very important vote. I've seen nothing to suggest that significant vote-carrying shareholders won't vote tactically and in the meantime we have to hope that the enhanced PFS and Porvenir PEA can give us a higher valuation base from which to work from.
I'm not sure looking much further ahead is wise but should we get past the AGM relatively unscathed then focus turns to the DFS and construction fundraise. We're going to need Ayten to work her magic with the Franco's, Boliden's of the industry whilst getting back on the regional exploration trail in the meantime.
SP ticking up nicely............
Your recent buys looking ok at the moment Damers
Fingers crossed
Just sold my trade...
Looking much more solid this week, will hopefully recover 10% or 15% over the coming week or 2...
Amazing Ray …. Still if you’re in your happy place
66300 odd
Gl
Premature ejaculation???.....:)
Still as long you are satisfy it's fine....
Yes of course little max, I guess the transparency isn't for you.
•¿•
Ray I think transparency would be to state when you bought back in. Not constantly claim it's going lower then as soon as there's a tiny spike claim to have bought at the bottom and sold for a profit ...... that's all
Exactly DBW....
Monopoly win with that midas touch by the massive boy....
Still whatever makes one happy it's all what matters....
I've said this before and I'll say it again - this is a traders share and I'm happy to trade it, little and often at the moment. And unless you can print money then you can't actually make money, so I take it irrespective if it keeps going up.
Once again BHP looks stupid and this is why I'm convinced that a 'low ball' bid for SOLG simply won't work...
I love this quote from the article:
"While BHP has not said if it would sweeten its OZ bid, analysts and bankers think if it did it faces no guarantee of winning over OZ's board as other large miners and metals firms are sitting in the wings flush with cash and confident in the long-term outlook for metals like copper....The underlying belief in this longer-term outlook for copper will make it very hard to transact without paying a substantial premium..."
Thanks DBW
Bozi...were you actually invested in Sirius Minerals...?
It was always going to be a dog. I bought at 2.5p and sold at 12.5p and OK I missed out on the big rise, but particularly in North Yorkshire and the North East, some folk lost their entire pensions because they bought on sentiment and refused to see the writing on the wall...
The only writing on the wall here is several (probably) Tier 1 assets; a proven PFS throwing off Billions in cashflow from a prospective mine, in a stable economy, that will be producing not only millions of tonnes of copper, desperately needed for EV's transmission lines, charging points, etc. etc., with a looming supply deficit that will last for years...but also gold in millions of ounces just as it once again becomes the 'currency' to hold...
OK you might argue that we desperately need fertiliser in a starving world, but Sirius was mining polyhalite not potash and there wasn't even a mature market for the ore mined.
They got way ahead of themselves, the numbers didn't stack up, it couldn't be financed and Anglo bought it for a song...and now its progressing...slowly...
So please don't alarm people with comparisons with Sirius...a much better comparison would be with Antalya Mining...80p a year before production, recently 448p and, when copper prices rebound and energy prices abate, will be yielding 11% at the current price. No thats not a recommendation, its a comparison, b because...
One day we'll be a massive multiple of ATYM or...we'll be taken over...
And if BHP are stupid enough to try a Noront/Oz on SOLG, they'll not only have egg on face again but will stimulate the mother and father of a bidding war...
As stated in the quote below:
"other large miners and metals firms are sitting in the wings flush with cash and confident in the long-term outlook for metals like copper...."
Ray's clearly not alone re trading this share.........
Come on Red, it's easy for you to say this now but I'm quite sure you didn't regard it as a dog when you made 400% on it.
It wasn't one that I had any interest in but I followed the story from the sidelines. Different commodity and different market circumstances yes but my earlier point stands. When you have an asset like SOLG do and major shareholders who you'd assume would be happy to pick it up at the drop of a hat in the right circumstances then management have to be as sharp as a tack at all times and across all facets of the business. Otherwise, what happens... well you end up in Sirius' position. You struggle to put a financing package together and your asset ends up in limbo and hey presto, you're distressed.
So yes, I'm aware of the story and unfortunately the outcomes for many investors.
I really think we all have to be honest with each other as long term investors, hybrid investor traders or whatever each individual regards themself as. Forgot those that are here to disrupt and be full and frank with the facts and possibilities. It isn't about only sharing the positives or not saying something that might alarm someone else.
The fact of the matter is that we're creeping towards the AGM with a dwindling cash pile, we've struggled for whatever reason to top up the coffers and we could again see more boardroom wrangling in the next quarter.
If we're going to talk about writing on the wall (not probables) then we have one tier one asset, and a fantastic one at that. We have some prospective land packages but early drilling on a few of them has proved underwhelming ( Blanca, Sharug, Rio Amarillo and La Hueca). We have a promising resource in Porvenir but it probably needs to double in size to increase in priority as far as standalone development is required. The copper backdrop medium to long term is promising but we need to demonstrate we're capable of being ready to exploit it, and not miss out. We need to demonstrate we're capable of doing a fair deal should the opportunity arise, whether it be for Cascabel or the company whole.
If Solgold puts together a reasonable funding package to develop Alpala then I'll happily compare us to Antalya. Until we do, we're more akin to a Sirius I'm afraid.
Who is your quote from, by the way?
I still maintain BCN is a better comparison.
Never saying when he actually buy (despite promises to do it with evidence....) only when he "supposed " sold on any occasion spike. ...
But anything that keeps him happy is no harm really.....
Oh max be quiet, already posted my sale numpty, and I'll post my last trade this afternoon if it keeps rising!
Well reasoned post Bozi...
I made a quick profit in SXX way before the hysteria started...
The quote was from the Reuter's article DBW kindly posted...
