Jezzoo - SOLG might not be in the driving seat today but if they get an amended IPA, shows a development plan that is higher margin and then we get the macro to suit then we could easily assume the box seat.
There's no reason why we have to kowtow to majors just because they have deep pockets. Someone will want a tier 1 before long. They can't continue to wait each other out.
Can’t really see how much more you’d expect him to do in a year. He's been cleaning up years of mess ….. we should judge him but not yet ….. let’s see what this quarter brings
You're by all means not the only holder in that boat Eloro, but you're the only one beating up the CEO in every post you make now.
That's quite the point Bozi, I don't think any of us, including Mather will make anywhere near what it's worth as the job of super majors is to stay super majors and they prey on asset rich cash poor unfortunates such as SOLG.
And no I'm not saying he should have flipped it for a few quid and he had every right to stand his ground but where did his attitude get him ?
Solg isn't in the driving seat here.
What do you think is the most likely outcome Bozi ?
Decent tick up today... Maybe 55p by Friday ?
Jezzo
“i wouldn't be surprised if nothing happened in the next ten years apart from forced dilution to keep the lights on and if the govt allowed it”
I guess the big plus with expecting the worst is you can only ever be pleasantly surprised.
With PFS only potentially 2/3 weeks away and a real expectation that the market may ( for once) sit up and take notice I think there’s a genuine chance that this quarter may be our most positive/constructive for years. Also there’s always a possibility that this updated study may finally shake something loose …… hopefully things will settle down in Ecuador soon and someone will move .
ATB DBW
I think my question was valid Bozi because it was in response to a comment which you made about me last week. Had you replied then, I would not have had to followed up with you. I am confident that I am not the only holder who held in anticipation of a corporate action.
Good afternoon Eish it's not about my view being in Vogue.
It's about listening to what the company says and not being swayed by my own views.
Mm's seem to be looking for stock.
Might suggest seller all done now after the near 5m to 6m average traded days for last 2 months+. Wonder if it was Norges? Think there is a way of checking on norges holdings even if they are sub 3%.
Still a puzzle why the price ran from 8p to 11.5p over xmas period but perhaps shows what happens when 'controlling hands' are not involved.
Bottom line is... share price is irrelevant (unless you are like Wildtiger and trading it for 20% etc) but if holding for the eventual monetisation event... well.. that comes based on asset value/industry bench marks. Until an offer drops the share price can trade in lala land for as long as it cares to in these poor valuation based markets.
Jezzoo - that's one of the funniest comments I've read on this BB.
You're saying Mather should have flipped the asset for a song to the majors?
You simply don't do that with such a major tier 1 discovery. Mather, IMO, had every right to stand his ground.
Life isn't all about the grift to nick a nickel or a dime. You have to hold on to finds like these and make them pay. It's the culmination of a lifetime of work, prospecting etc and I completely understand that it wasn't just a flip so Bozi and Jezzoo could walk away with a few quid profit.
Quady, your view and that of Ortherncopper , are back in vogue by my judgement. The pendulum has swung away from a "Quick Fix Super Sale" to a PFS3 and even an endless wait for this action!
What a s...show investment this has turned out to be! LOL!
At least I can wait for the end result Or be declared dead!
i don't think we will get a bid, i've said that a few times over the years.
mather's arrogant greed probably galvanised the majors to teach him a lesson years go.
we are reaping the consequences of his attitude.
the three main holders here wouldn't even notice if the entire thing was taken from them by the govt and they lost everything they've put in. they can sit here indefinitely until some catalylist changes the stalemate.
i wouldn't be surprised if nothing happened in the next ten years apart from forced dilution to keep the lights on and if the govt allowed it.
it's a ****show caused by the ego of a certain aussie.
Jezzoo you believe what others say about me and you don't read what I say.
I have never said production is the only way to go.
I like Copperpot and others understand why no bids have come in and if you want a bid what has to change.
I have clearly always said production is the most likely outcome given what the company says and the facts and evidence.
Ask yourself a question: What happens if we don't get a bid, how do we advance Cascabel.
Eloro - I don't think you're at liberty to ask that question given your recent response to a poster who asked the same of you.
My position is unchanged. I'm not as desperate for a corporate event as most on this BB. I have to concede that it offers the best chance of a short term return but it won't be an attractive return, merely an average one.
Ideally, I think SOLG needs to hold this into the teeth of the next copper supply crunch. Will it come in time? I'm not sure it will.
Quady, you seem to be blissfully unaware of the irony of some of your posts.
Can't you see you are one of the so called experts on this forum who have been 100% wrong over the last ten years and still saying the same things that make them continuously wrong. ?
Preaching going into production is just as wrong as preaching imminent sale until one or the other happens.
Totally agree with Ortherncopper's summary of Warren and the current situation. At least I am not the only one who has detected a change in Warren re solg.
Bozi, you failed to answer my question, are you not holding solg shares and hoping for a sale/corporate event? It would be good if you could answer so I understand better where coming re solg. I would not expect a non-shareholder to be critiquing shareholders
Q, that's all very good stuff, but it doesn't address the issue you raised about the process of bidding.
So Addicknt on the data room let's look at what we know.
Around 20 companies have been through the data room. We know this because we had this communicated to us.
Currently around 5 companies are showing interest in us, Again we have been told this.
We know the Strategic review is under way, its purpose to ascertain how to progress Cascabel. We know as we have been told this.
We are looking at PFS3 as a low cost start up just over 1 Billion, again we have been told this.
When Ingo was here he had 1 Billion earmarked again we have been told this.
If we buy in the Civil engineering expertise we can build this, we may build with a JV, but we have no need to sell out to them as we can raise the money for a low cost route to production.
The people saying we cannot build this are on this BB.
I believe the Solgold BOD as they have got us this far. Over the so called experts on this forum who have been 100% wrong over the last ten years and still saying the same things that make them continuously wrong.
You couldn't make it up.
Q, what do you think has been happening in the data room? I'm afraid on this issue you're barking up the wrong tree.
Good morning Addicknt when a FTSE100/250 company receives a bid this is based on DD.
Solgold is a study and so is speculative it's not the same thing, so my last post stands.
Good morning rcgl2, your post about me is accurate.
You are correct I could have got out at 46 Pence. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
To be honest I have suffered cuts in my Dividend income as well as I have a large investment in DLG.
So 2023 has not been good.
On Solgold I am posting less and less as this is now in the bottom drawer.
I still believe we have something here, but we will only have a decent profit when we have a clear path to production.
We don't have to complete construction but we need to start it ASAP and get a low cost model producing.
Once we have that, then we have options.
All the best.
You say you don't expect anything to be delivered in early Q1. That feeds into the investment case
Be careful about falling into the trap Fort did before Christmas.
I dont think anyone is Judging a whole investment case in the bluster of one person.. That would be madness... its simply making the point that an experienced investor in Solgold seems to have lost his exuberance for the story.
Judging a whole investment case in the bluster of one person is shoddy to say the least.
I don't know how many times this needs to be said.
