Could the company be bought over by another miner with SNR receiving shares in the buying company? I must admit, by gut feel is bad news. The share price has dropped considerably this week......
After picking this news up on my phone during a boozy lunch on the Thames my gut feeling is good news! To go bust someone would have to submit a winding up petition and we have just dismissed on to LCB! Also recent funds raised new appointments to Board and talks re grant and joint venture! Optimist = Too much has been done to write this off, grant approved and takeover to follow . (not 25p though) Pessimist = Grant approved and greedy buggers in SA want the asset for free Usually if press/BB board comments have no foundation then the company usually issues an RNS to confirm so logically a bid imho! Have a great weekend I know I will!!!!!
hoping its good news though, fingers crossed. I wonder though, how long till we find out?
I thought them low ones after hours were all sells/? as the day had been filled with buys mostly.
It would not surprise me if there were some key players in the know for quite some time ..... lack of good quality information has kept this share price depressed for quite a while and some large transactions went through (often after hours) at low prices. If it is a takeover bid at 25p it would be very good news indeed! It would still be interesting to see who has been accumulating large share blocks over the past couple of months.
could explain why there were few big sells over the last few days... maybe someone knew something?
Also found a 650,000 sell at 9.54
Like you I took a punt this morning - the £4591 is mine Not sure exactly how these websites work, but over on iii the last trade is shown as : Last trade: 3.1250 Change: ↑ 0.2500 (8.69%) Delayed price: 12:50:35 Hopefully a good sign if it's accurate..... or as with you guys could be the quickest loss in history !
It shows as a sell on Lloyds
seems like about 60K worth of biggish sells over 24 hrs
I see that there was a 500,000 transaction at exactly the time that the RNS was logged at 12.50pm. Interesting to know if that was a buy or a sell. Either way it looks as if someone may have been in the know. Buy, then good news. Sell, then bad news!
i took a £5k punt this monring so it will either be the best timed or worst timed investment of my career!
I'm not a corporate lawyer - just a poor litigator - but speaking to one of my corporate colleagues, the fact that the winding up petition was recently dismissed and then there is a suspension of trading is more likely to signal good news than bad. If the company was about to be put into liquidation why bother with going to the time and expense of dismissing the winding up petition? Who knows though. All guess work. I bought into this earlier today for a £500 punt - could be the quickest loss in history!!
so much crap talked on here no wonder people are confused. Might not be anything but a small embarrassment.
i have to say id feel a bit conned if iot was liquidation after putting out positive news on how things were improving, near to deals, broker target odf 40p yes its highly speculative but to go bust days later would be strange i think its going to be positive or if negative a huge placing but i cant see a total bust here of course a nice little 12p takeover would do!
Whilst we can't rule out bad news, I can't believe it's a liquidation so soon after our broker reiterated shares were a buy. They may put out a 'buy rec' to get shares up ahead of a placing, but surely not prior to co. going bust? Unfortunately, 'water's been muddied' by recent (out of date?) articles so difficult to be certain of anything!
Thelo? http://www.incademy.com/courses/How-the-stock-market-works/Suspension/16/1014/10002
cant beleiev there not even any chat or speculation
to 3p - its either massively good - takeover or funding all sorted or its massively bad - we're going into liquidation i would find the latter strange in light of the winding up petition being dismissed and other funding progressing would happily take 6p offer
Found this posted on iii yesterday; Strategic Natural Resources PLC Friday Possible 25p bid from Land Consultants Ltd, for all of the assets of its subsidiary Acharnian Mining Ltd, which owns a 74% interest in Elitheni Coal Ltd."
possible takeover ?????
Change of pace..... stumbled across this old article... Very small but could have had a huge wallop..... Hope todays business hasn't affected this if at all..... Won't let me copy....under Baker and Mckenzie.... Matters..... Morne van der Merwe..... Was always curious about this... :-) Http://www.iflr.com/Article/3222533/South-Africa.html
considering the we could be anywhere between bust or 20p in the near future!
Of course they would...... they probably want to dump that fee of theirs for the cash.... "the Company has also entered into a GBP0.5 million underwriting agreement with Beaufort Securities Limited ("Beaufort"), under which Beaufort has agreed to underwrite the placing of 12.5 million new Ordinary Shares at 4p per share (the "Beaufort Placing Shares") (the "Beaufort Underwriting"). Under the terms of this underwriting agreement, Beaufort is to receive: (i) a cash commission of GBP75,000; and (ii) 1.875 million new Ordinary Shares (the "Beaufort Commission Shares") which, at 4p per share, equates to GBP75,000. Target Alliance has undertaken to transfer the Beaufort Commission Shares to Beaufort out of the Target Alliance Subscription Shares."
its dated today
