Gilead would be a likely contender for a takeover of Sng in the event of positive trial results however Astra Zenica have approached Sng in the past.
A lot of trials around the globe for coronavirus have proved inconclusive including the Fujifilm recent trials.
I am a fan of Sng and have been in Sng longer than most, but it's worth bearing in mind that coronavirus is proving a difficult customer.
People should be aware this is an extremely high risk investment. Trial after trial are failing around the World. We all need to bear this in mind.
Ghia what's your SP target which would lead to a 80% sell off...
Ghia, I guess it’s not being too greedy but also we’ve waited this longer so I’m happy to wait all year if needs be to extract maximum value. As I said if I can slice some off on the Initial spike then great but i may miss it as my limit sell will probably be around £2-3. If this drug if approved to be successful and is distributed around the world then I don’t think we can comprehend the sp based on that. I wonder if a big pharmaceutical will get an exclusive licence deal, pay SNG their royalties and distribute it for free. The best PR a company can get.
If it's positive results , I'd prefer the share to be suspended whilst SNG talk to potential takeover entities otherwise the shareprice will be going up & down like a fiddler's elbow for several sessions to come. Most likely to be NT the majority of the time.
I’m with Rich on this one.
If all goes as planned I’m holding all the way.
Yes Miggy I would think that the scientists know best. All we can do is speculate as best we can to inform our investments decisions.
Miggy - Agreed but equally they also understand what would have been required to change dosing levels for the COVID trials and it would have meant significant delays safety assessments etc.
So the point stands it’s encouraging that the dosage used in the IFN-a2b trial seems to be fairly similar to what we have. Everything on IFN thus far has been a higher dose via IV or SC so I found it encouraging what Dr Fish was saying given the delivery method and dosage.
I would hope SNG know more about optimal dosing levels than we do. It’s been in there care for over 10 years after all. Them the scientists not us. Bit like me trying to give Kevin De Bruyne advice on his football technique :).
CW25 - That’s a question that the individual has to answer for themselves.
Personally I have a level of return I am trying to extract from SNG whereas others want to ride the full wave.
If my level is hit I’m happy and will wish everyone still on the journey the best of luck.
Takeover would be my ideal because it decides for us but I can see this going down the route of licensing which will bring the highest value long term.
Ghia good plan but where do we set them. I assume they wouldn’t take anywhere near 200,000+ shares in one go so what do we set at is the question? 80p like some say or £3 others. I agree with Rich that It may make more sense to sit and let the world wake up to it. It really depends for me what the RNS says and I’m hoping it’s not intraday so I have an hour to panic over my next move. Coffee will not be needed!! If packaged licence deal then yes may sell as spike should be higher. If just ‘successful but looking for a partner’ then spike won’t be as much and it should go further once approval or further trials are announced. In that case I’ll sit it out for maximum value. A Possible De-risk on the way.
Rich - Everyone’s situation will be different personally I have a price target that if met on the initial spike I will take 80% off the table.
The rest I’ll let run without the need to check up on it constantly.
My plan, assuming success, would be not to sell a single bean and see how it goes.
Regardless of any initial rise you can be absolutely certain that success in the COVID trial will start to filter out into UK and worldwide media.
That attention won’t just be for hours, it’ll be days or weeks minimum, and that kind of attention would draw a whole raft of new buyers that have never heard of this.
So no point selling on the first day just to watch the world wake up to the new hope!
Indeed not long left, suggest everyone pulls together an exit plan. This is an illiquid share and will swing violently on results.
I’d imagine you will struggle to get a live quote for any meaningful volume. Pick a level or several that you’d be happy with the profit and stick some limit sells in they are more likely to get filled on any spike up.
I’ve seen shares swing intraday 100% in both directions as people jump in and out.
Probably avoid using stop losses.
Interesting week ahead, take your positions the clock is running out... i'm staying for reaults... not counting my eggs nor discounting them either.. fingers crossed.
Until result of test is known ! How can anything point to Southampton
Bella 100% agree
Lol gkb!
Yep there are actually 14 known strains. All RNA variations so the view is a vaccine should cover all. Should. Yeah right so why do they have to issue new flu jabs.
Open Orphan been years developing fluV a catch all vaccine. I don’t think any of these vaccines will be ready for some time and even when they are I’m not risking it!

4. If the virus mutates, it is unlikely the vaccine will work: SNG001 probably will though as it was effective against MERS.

Fatgreek1... Remember SNG is, all carrying out their home trial on a virtual basis... First ever in the World to be done like this where the trial volunteers, are coached virtually by doctors in dosing etc... This is in my opinion all part of the package they are putting together in Southampton.
1. Saliva Test Kits for all key workers.
2. SNG001 inhalers
3. VIrtual GPs to assess, send out inhalers if not issued or available via workplace, coach, data collect, monitor etc...
Even if a vaccine becomes available, there is still some concern as to how long antibodies will last and so there has to be a fast and efficient upfront treatment to get people back to work ASAP...
And this trio could be the closest we might have for a while.
SNG one of only 2 WHO approved trials left, Merck on standby to supply the EU interferon beta 1a, SNG making a home nebuliser treatment and now the university of Southampton is making an at home saliva test kit. Handy can send out the test kit then nebuliser with treatment once self isolated following test result.

Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Han**** said:
Saliva testing could potentially make it even easier for people to take coronavirus tests at home, without having to use swabs. This trial will also help us learn if routine, at-home testing could pick up cases of the virus earlier.
All roads are leading to Southampton - coincidence?
