128,888 no from bankrupty!
It's a 100K no from me.
50k no
514k No
I have 170,000. I must admit I'm a little perplexed by the price action here. Do you think the market is saying this won't be going ahead?
Same as Craigb 250k NO
I have 250k and will be voting no.
.....& 45,500 no votes from me.
There are plenty of possible counter bidders for Shanta:
Barrick (ex owner of Shanta's WK tenements)
Shandong Gold (potential all cash bidder here in 2022. most recent purchase is the 5.1 million oz Namdini gold project in Ghana (Cardinal Resources, $408 million)
Yintai Gold (potential all cash bidder here in 2022)
West African miners looking for more politically stable African jurisdictions
US miners/investment companies
Canadian miners/investment companies
Auz miners/investment companies
The galiano buyout of goldfields share of asanko does suggest our deal should be minimum 16p by my rough calcs
galiano will def be my preferred choise after this farce ends either way
In the same boat but I am sure others will inform us nearer the time how to vote
Only 35k , but I'll be voting No.
It would be useful to know How To as it will be my first time. Will my ISA provider forward correspondence? Anyone know?
104k NO!!!
1,000,000+ voting NO from me.
I only have 60,000 but I will be voting NO
Any idea who’s buying all the shares in the background, am wondering if it’s a potential second bidder here as there’s millions of shares going through…
400k No from me
The ONLY reason the rejection of this proposal will fail is if we (peeps) do not register our vote. Remember it's the votes cast on the day (in person and proxy) that will determine the outcome. The BoD already has 20% of the votes in the bag which could turn out to be much higher percentage depending on turnout.
You would vote NO surely just for the sport of seeing the board go and that cowardly **** have to do another presentation ?
i know i would
I have only 53,000 and intend sitting on my hands. A neat stitchup, certainly, but it could all unravel.
Only 21k but will still be voting No - really inspired by everyone’s determination to have this bid rejected. If we had a chart ie with a goal re number of shares required to push through the no vote I think it might gain even more traction. If we could actually win - what a game changer it would be for small pi’s. This would never be forgotten. Good luck to everyone and even with my small number I will be sure to actually Vote NO !!
I hold 120K shares and will be voting No.
I have about 1m shares (put in £120k with average price of about 11p I think - split between ISA and pension so need to check - some problems on access at the moment). I will almost certainly be voting against. We need to track what happens in January with offer document. It should have to be (a bit) more explanatory as to what is going on. - but I doubt it will help that much. There seems to me to be something going on in the background that is not being disclosed (except in very general terms) and which I think has compelled Sustainable Capital, Lombard and Zurrin to sell out. Except for Lombard I really can’t understand why they would do so. Lombard is recent and can make a quick buck and move on but Zurrin and Sustainable are long term “investors” in the broadest sense. Why sell now when even in a year it could be so much better?
I know some people (particularly Millenials and Gen Z) will not like the racial connotation but there are very different business practices around the world. Some may want to dodge this difficult social issue and to hide behind a spreadsheet. It is unlikely that these people have ever physically gone to “emerging market” countries and have had some basic contact as to the culture, In many ways the West is the outlier in trying to treat everyone at arm’s length. For most places it is about family and close friends. Be aware of that.
Also have a couple of friends who or not on here who probably have 1 million + shares between them and I've asked them to consider voting NO as well
Great stuff thanks. It may also have been useful to point out that Ketan Patel is not only a Director at Shanta, and was one of the founders of Shanta Gold, but is also a Director of ETC.
