Just watched the presentation. My take on it, having watched these now for a while, is that there seems to be a better handle being expressed on the business and outlook. The market will reward this. When it turns on good news or an upgrade, as we have seen today it will turn sharply. Other positive I thought was the comments on their pipeline being upbeat. More business and clients in H2.
One positive, S4 announces 6 new clients in Q1. Burger King, Panasonic, FanDuel, AliExpress, Decathlon, Santander and ICBC.
New business and AI
New business activity continues at significant levels, particularly with a focus on personalisation at scale. New business wins in the first quarter include Burger King, Panasonic, FanDuel, AliExpress, Decathlon, Santander and ICBC. In addition, the Company continues to capitalise on its strong AI positioning winning multiple exploratory assignments as clients experiment and explore applications and develop use cases. These are currently focussed on visualisation and copywriting, personalisation at scale and general client and agency efficiency. Developments around media planning and buying and democratisation of knowledge are starting to build.
Or should it be 60s??
Mostly this will go back to 40s at least one more time. The whole market is way too optimistic today. Israel will stir things up soon
I wonder if we will finally get some momentum this time with interest rate falls, elections, sporting events, etc. or whether the SP will now drift back into the 40s.
Hopefully a further boost when the US market opens. Fingers crossed.
Its nice to see shorters get their comeuppance.
Sorry yes 2.8 million shares
They have .5 % 3 million shares
I don't think its just that, but they do have to buy 28million shares now or watch their losses continue to rise !
I agree though, spike is probably due to them shi**ing their pants
Poor old Connor Clark...doh!
Connor Clark and Lunn declared .05% short on 2 May, high shareprice for the week before was 52.58 low was 48
Interesting S4 Capital Q1 results presentation....... One analysts asked the question regarding future M&A in the sector going forward. Sir Martin's replay said that lower interest rates would help and that he knows that private equity has plenty of dry powder. Watch this space.
On 22/3/2024 it was reported in the Wall Street Journal (link enclosed below) that S4 Capital had received several merger offers from Stagwell, one offer worth almost $700m 96p per share. It was also reported that new York private equity firm Mountain Capital held exploratory talks with S4 last year about a possible acquisition.

Large buyer at 55
Thanks GoCPI. Hope you do well. I hold here too, since last update….and am grateful to posters on here who made my research easier/shorter before buying.
I’m comfortable with my THG holding, but know I’ll need to be patient. Utter madhouse on that board now sadly. GL.
I still believe any takeover price will be many points north of where we are now...people more knowledgable than me suggest 2.5-4.00 would entice MS...who knows certainly not me ....holding for pots of jam & marmalade ....
Would agree with 2.00 prior to year ending...unless significant offer emerges ....certainly has the potential ...I like jam but I also like decent marmalade ...LOL...
Cheers, Yorek. I know you do and all the best there for you. I have a very small holding in THG and don't intend to post negative posts on that board and hence stopped posting there. I've noted that the THG message board has become a mad house of late. :-)
However, In the past few weeks I have switched out of most of my THG holdings ( at a small loss) into SFOR and CPI. I hope THG works out for you!!
Still Hold my target of 2 pounds by year end
Jam soon is probably a good summary.
Very honest about where they are. Maintain guidance as expect improvement in 2nd half.
Lots to look forward to as macro changes in my opinion.
Professional honest delivery.
Mentioned another call for US in a few hours.
Plenty of jam soon
As the market looks forward... this is looking a super investment
GoCPI - can’t disagree in terms of quality of this call v THG calls, but you know I still believe in TGL and MM in terms of running the business. Appreciate many don’t share my view.
I couldn't listen in. Anyone care to summarise his speech. Thanks.
