Great decision. Spend 2.5p (ish) per share, get 1p per share back more or less straight away and get cheap shares way below NAV. Seems a good deal to me but do your own research and make your own mind up.
Free money guys.. What's not to love.
Its sad that many long term investors won't see much gains but great if you have cash easily available.
And no doubt good for liquidity on the buyback front😜
Onwards and upwards 🎷
Should we be happy about this? I mean - it'll be nice to get a bit of cash, but surely letting the buyback run would be better for us. Like, the cost of the dividend will be equivalent to buying back 50% of the shares in circulation (at last week's SP). This feels like an effort to drive the SP up without any actual substance.
...this is Ed turning over a new leaf (preferably not THAT leaf)
I am very pleased that Ed has taken up the first part of the suggestion I made yesterday:
“ The only responsible action for SEED now in the best interests of long suffering shareholders is to make a large special dividend based on NAV. Actually I would advocate it follows DSM and conducts an orderly wind down of the company distributing cash as it becomes available. DSM has an NAV of 67p per share and shareholders are about to receive the first cash dividend of 30p per share.”
I would now like him to consider the second part of my suggestion particularly if this dividend does not massively narrow the persistent discount to NAV. The share buyback scheme has been a complete failure in improving the share price and would have been better spent by retuning the money to shareholders in a dividend.
5m MCAP announced this. I think its great news for LTH's.

Due to the ongoing War between Israel and Iran we regret the funds due from Leap gaming have been lost

Great decision for Ed for sure. He's just given himself a 200k bonus.
First successful vote ever. Well done ED, good decision. 👏
I support it because only shareholders benefit. if i was ed i would tell my mates your not going to get any of this 6 million plus and infact you should buy seed shares and then you would get the dividend. so help out or do one. that is what he should be saying to them. none of this nonsense giving them the 6 million to turn it into nothing. unreal. so dividend should be high up on the list for the money. also news that it could happen would help sentiment. a rising share price from being dead cheap / low market cap with the bonus of a dividend for holding. who would not want that apart from his mates.
There seems much support for a dividend. Gets my vote.
This reminds me of that dom joly skit where he is a removal man and his van is called stupid and sons. he then throws boxes into the van smashing the expensive glass stuff inside. lol. this could be called stupid investing in the amount of companies in portfolio that have turned millions into nothing. dom joly was just a comedy skit. well, you would hope it is. stupid investing is real life.
What i like about the idea of a dividend as it goes to shareholders direct. not to his mates, they do not get the money because they are not shareholders in seed. and ed benefits himself as he is a shareholder in seed. it basically cuts the vultures out his mates and there companies which regular turn all the money put into them to dust. so cut them out of this 6 million plus. they are as much good as a chocolate biscuit to this fund. millions given to them gone down the plug hole but paid for nice lifestyles and they are not even shareholders of seed. so enough is enough.
I hope you are right, Fatman, but history is against you! He could do worse than look at a few AI juniors, but I fear his mates will talk him round, AGAIN!
I can not see him being reckless with it judging on the last 12 months. i think it will be how best to use 6 million plus and a dividend may be part of the solution of sentiment change. because that is what we need. sentiment change. another thing with seed we know it is not going to drop off a cliff end like other aim stocks. a fairly safe stock with millions of liqiud cash to spend. for example. hzm today . down 83 percent in one day. that will not happen with seed. so all we need is change of sentiment. not easy but ed has the cash to do it.
I certainly breathed a sigh of relief when I seen we had received the second leap payment and like everyone else ,I would love to see a 1p dividend.but after having so much pain for many years here it's hard to see this lot putting us first for a change .I have no faith in ed at all because I am convinced he is controlled like a puppet by lorne.
But at least the money should see us ride out this rough market and we should eventually rise when the AIM market does.maybe 5 or even 6p could be achieved who knows but at least this money allows us to ride the market out.
Providing genius Ed doesn't do something reckless with it.
Whatever happens, it’s going to be hilarious here! Let’s hope it isn’t tulip bulbs!
....who spent £6250 of their hard-earned on a purchase here last Thursday... no longer needs to enlighten us long termers as to their expectations... with the Leap cash hitting the coffers less than 24 hours later.
Was the timing of this public? I wasn't aware we'd get the cash Friday (although it is exactly a year since the sale RNS), and I'm just curious as to whether other people missed a trick or if this was a bit of insider knowledge. I suppose with this spread, it's only about a 3% gain so far, but I fully expect the blue streak to continue.
(Ps. Longlad - your broadsheet writing style IS appreciated, haha! Thank you.)
Go on seed. giddy up. so ed needs to concentrate on sentiment now. news of dividend, investment etc. and talking the talk and walking the walk. saying and repeating it that he is going to do the right thing with the money and all benefit to shareholders.
Nothing in this game is fair. it is all about timing and not falling in love with any company. yep. anyone buying in now would get the dividend if they hold which is unfair to long term holders. but it is what it is. if they can get this share price moving up from here and pay out a dividend it is better than where we are currently at.

agreed. shame there can’t be a criteria for dividing a special dividend amongst shareholders in proportion to the amount of pain/stress they’ve incurred over the many years of ******ology by management…..but thats not how markets work, and those buying today will benefit equally as those of us who were taken in by the lies and incompetence.
getting ahead of ourselves a little, god only knows what ed & co have got in store for us….judging by the record - nothing good!
So over 5 million from leap gaming in cash plus the over 2 million in part sale and then any interest etc would mean cash of up to 8 million. less buyback, wages over the last 12 months would mean cash position over 6 million. so let us see what ed is going to do with all this liquid cash which is way above market cap. this is the last liquid cash so time to make a move with at least some of it.
SEED Innovations Ltd, the AIM-quoted company investment company providing shareholders with exposure to early-stage health, wellness, and medical cannabis companies, to which, in normal circumstances they have limited access to, is pleased to announce that it has received the remaining circa £2.4m (€2.76m) from the sale of its portfolio company Fralis LLC, trading as Leap Gaming.
Leap Gaming was sold in April 2023 (see RNS dated 11 April 2023), with SEED's proceeds of the sale totalling €5.8 million payable in two tranches. The first tranche of €3 million (£2.7m) was received on completion of the deal and the balance was received on the 12 April 2024.
The Leap Gaming sale has contributed to SEED's strong cash position of over £6m, which remains higher than its market capitalisation.
Commenting on the announcement, Ed McDermott, CEO of Seed said: "With an additional £2.4 million in cash in the bank, our financial position is exceptionally robust. Despite ongoing liquidity challenges in junior stocks, the investment landscape continues to offer compelling opportunities. Accordingly, we are committed to identifying innovative investment opportunities that will benefit our shareholders. Our primary objective is to enhance shareholder value, and we anticipate unveiling several strategic initiatives aimed at achieving this goal in the near future. We are confident that these initiatives will be well-received by our shareholders."
SEED’s cash now exceeds its cash. The only responsible action for SEED now in the best interests of long suffering shareholders is to make a large special dividend based on NAV. Actually I would advocate it follows DSM and conducts an orderly wind down of the company distributing cash as it becomes available. DSM has an NAV of 67p per share and shareholders are about to receive the first cash dividend of 30p per share.
