Don't get me wrong I'm not saying lgp is a terrible investment, in fact Ed could do a lot worse than increase our stake at the current sp. I was more pointing out that Ed has a track record of making shareholders poorer.
You would think so but if you had you done the slightest bit of digging you would know our stake in lgp is worth considerably less than what we paid for it, the SP is the lowest it has ever been.
Nice RNS,
Good investment again. Just gets better.
Yep. another point. when seed made a 100 percent gain last year the spread early on in the rise was always wide putting investers off. then a few weeks later it was up 100 percent and spread was normal. but to get there you would of had to buy and put up with the harsh spread. all tactics played by the big boys and manipulation.
Market makers will also artificially increase the size of the spread/mid price so that buys show as sells, its a common tactic used by Market makers and has been for years.
I’ll also be using my £5k dividend and buying more shares,
The share buyback is good thing as less shares available the higher any future dividend payments will be.
It isn’t mms that mark it as a buy or a sell. It’s an automatic process via software that flags it’s a buy or a sell depending on what the ‘mid price’ is at the time of posting the transaction. But sometimes the buys come so heavily or quickly that the mid price jumps above what the actual purchase price is. So the software used by LSE marks it as a sell. You’ve spotted the buys well. It’s basically free money at this price. If you are deciding your purchases on whether it’s indicated a buy or a sell, well, that isn’t what the pros do!
Barwick. yep. as they say never say never and at least you know the cut off date for the dividend.
15 of the so called sells are in fact buys...what are they up to
Dags, i sold out a while ago as you know, but for now i have no intension of reinvesting in Seed , but as they say never say never
Buying at a third of NAV with a 40% dividend can't be all that bad.
Also the game is all about timing. i suppose they could of picked 15th april as ex dividend date but ed will want this share price up and market cap. not just a special dividend payed out for shareholders.
Fore example barwick sold out and he was a long term holder and a regular poster. he can now get back in and enjoy the rise an dividend. it gives him time to get in and others just incase they do not read the chat board much after selling. you could look at it both ways i suppose. but it does give those that sold at a loss a chance to get back in and get that special dividend before it closes on the 26th april.
But can that not be for people that sold and now can buy back in to get the dividend etc. not everyone has held in my opinion. basically given them the time to get back in if they wish. i see it as getting the share price up which we all want and paying a special dividend. the mad lot would be anyone selling now and in the coming weeks.
Its great news, I'll be mopping up any sells after the Divi with my Divi money. ;)
Castletogo, apologies predictive text changes your name
Castletown, good post.
Will the penny finally drop with oneforthemoney?
Mms playing games that 120k buy was mine.....showing as a sell.
Should the ex div date not have been in the past prior to the announcement?
Long-term holders still at a loss even with dividend and share price climbs 200%. New holders who buy in from announcement day to ex div date will benefit most for 40% div return and climb in share price. Then can sell all and leave. Not great for long term holders. :(
Even if the sp went to 10p before ex-div date, that would still be a 10% return, 20% @ 5p etc etc.
Obviously the sp will shed 1p on ex-div so it is up to Ed to maintain some momentum so the sp finds a solid base. Ideally not too far from NAV
A return.
As tak says welcome aboard new shareholders and you could not have picked a better time. and timing is everything in this game. a potential 300 percent gain from here and a great special dividend. and a very cheap market cap considering situation. and ed the boss means business. he left it till we got that last payment to make sure he could announce special dividend. no one should sell this share right now and of course that will mean also share is going to go up. anyone selling is mad. no doubt about it. so yep. welcome all new shareholders.
Thanks Takayama seems a no brainer 10 p would do me just fine
Lanjan- yes that’s right. New shareholders are always welcome. I bought in because I saw value. With a 1p divi, and a p/E of, say 20, this should be trading at 20p I reckon, but that would be tops I reckon.. I agree with Dagenham. Anyone selling now would be mad! If you’ve bought in now, you’ve bought at a good time to get the divi, and then to have spotted a share with sp so below nav. What an opportunity. Get the divi and then you’ve got a spread of great investments to profit from when the board sells them, almost for free!
