Another great set of results for SBS! This really is moving from strength to strength. The sp is going to really start to move north one day, this has so much going for it. The US seems to be coming on nicely - giving revenue already and only got settled in in April.
Yes indeed results are very encouraging and this business is moving in the right direction. If you compare P&L from full year ended 31.12.13 to half year ended 30.6.14 we have moved decisively from loss into profit(albeit the prev results were skewed by the Vindon acquisition). Looking at the long term chart we are due for s strong bounce off the bottom of a tightening trading band. Looking good and I see a TP of 15p by end of 2014.
Looking very STRONG!
I can see you've been virtually running this BB by yourself for a while but am intrigued by your posts marked 'Plunger'. Thought perhaps you were replying to a poster called Plunger so have looked him up. He joined in 2010 and has so far made the magnificent sum of 1 post which was on VOG where he contributed, and I quote : 'Go on Voggies!'. Since then he has wisely remained silent. ----------------------------------------------------- We have had an RNS today re. a senior appointment. Though the company is running well the adrenaline levels on here, for an Aim share, are exceedingly low. Hope she can liven things up. -------------------- Great article hierarchy(see10th June post) 'Nick Ash says: “We were delighted to launch our products and services portfolio in the US market in April. Our offering of world-leading DNA-sequencing capabilities, enhanced product portfolio and bio storage differentiates us to make a significant contribution to life science research over the next few years in both the Los Angeles area, where our new state of the art facility at Santa Fe Springs is based, and throughout the US.” With the market SBS serves being both constant and evolutionary, the prospects for sustainable and solid longer term growth look healthy. Having inherited something of an ailing business when he arrived in 2005, the CEO points out that annual revenues stood at just £5m, while losses were £3.5m. Having been very much on the critical list, Nick Ash has overseen a complete restructuring and expansion programme, culminating in SBS’s transformation to what he now explains is a cash generative business operating across a myriad of new areas in healthcare. And, with a market cap now standing at £40m, the company resembles more of a punchy player, with the ongoing ability to achieve. Where once the institutional base was small and dwindling, there are now some big hitters on board. These include well-known and respected names such as Henderson Global, Artemis, Legal & General, along with Miton and Black Rock. Hi, been in this share since 2011, please look at the moving average chart above, looks good to me and wish all of my portfolio looked as good. I think this share will be 15p by end of year.
Broker N+1 Singer which has thus far been pretty spot on, anticipates revenues of £28m for this year, rising to £32m by 2016, which should in turn see pre-tax profits of £3m and £3.5m delivered. Having previously snapped up Inverclyde Biologicals, SBS subsequently moved for the much larger Vindon healthcare operation stumping up £12.2m for the business, part of which was funded via a well supported placing raising £9.5m. Although the group is currently in a net debt position due to the acquisitions and expansion programme, it is nevertheless cash generative and profitable. The next few years should deliver a move into a net cash situation of close to £4m, while there will also be sizeable assets, including the Nottingham HQ, by 2017. Although SBS has been largely focused on the UK, boasting operations that include Cambridge and Oxford, it has also moved further afield. Ireland and Germany have been on its map for some time, while a more recent presence in the US is now presenting serious nearer term upside for the business
Outlook Results for the year ended 31 December 2013 demonstrated another year of strong growth for the business and trading for the early part of 2014 continues to build on the robust operational performance of the Group. We look forward to updating shareholders further following the publication of our Half Year Report for the six months ending 30 June 2014, anticipated to be released in August 2014."
just read the report , excellent review ,and shows how well company is being run. the growth should continue for years forward , wont be this cheap this time next year , ive been in this company for quite awhile and has done me very good good ,and owes me nothing ,,,,

Well looking at trades I am clearly not the only one dropping out Has this site run out of Blue ink ? LOL watching with interest
SOLD _ too much a stray here for no obvious reason - so I am now out. Nice profit whilst it lasted -- but will watch and see for now ,
Why the wild swings all of a sudden ?
sometimes a buy can be a sell and vice versa ,when you see it ,as for every sell there is a buyer ,and its the one one that happens first is whats shown ,so it can be very misleading ,usually can tell by what the transaction cost , i believe almost half of the shares in sbs are held by mm,s ,
instititutions can move shares from one fund to another ,so one sell and one buy ,and cost them nothing ,mm,s minipulate a lot of shares in minnow companies in uk ,
im not aware of any chinese investor ,alot of sbs problems is that it hard for institutions to build a big stake in here as a lot of shares are held in institutuitions, if they are buying more companies to expand then more dilution imho will help in long term ,this is a long term hold company inmo , but the company has been well run in the last few years since change of name from medical solutions and the expantion in usa could reap great rewards ,as to china i dont know ,i havent heard or seen anything on that .but im a big fan of this company i,just hold and see a slow rise i have a good average ,so im happy to be hear
i would say quite normal sbs without any news , sp trading in small range , nothing new in this share
pablo2 - fair enough but its early days for the states yet. These things take time. I can understand about your PF mines been poor recently. Def been a sell off in particular sectors. I think sooner or later this will come into the markets view but, as ever, patience is required!
It was Oryx growth fund that looks to be run by BNP? Wonder who had the rest.
10m bought on May 14th - that must be some of Standard Life's - same date.
That 55% increase does stand out but with the acquisitions the revenue had to surely increase. Taking the US by storm has not yet happened yet though I suppose our facilities were only launched recently though Vindon are already there. Sorry if I sound a bit down perhaps it's all my other shares tiring me. I've been in SBS for over 3 years now I think, and though it's never let me down, I'm thinking one day it'll take off. Market seems to be fairly uninterested in the share so it just ticks along - mostly upwards though!
When they're going to tell us who bought Standard Life's 14.2m shares. After all the SP hardly budged so someone's snapped them up. Could be a new investor?
RNS Quote: "Revenue during the first quarter was more than 55% ahead of the same period last year" Not impressive?? Looks good to me.
