Results 2016 9p max before drop 2017 10p max before drop 2018 8.6p before??? I'm back in at the right time at the right price Figures are ish from memory and based on my own opinions. Do your own research.
From memory but apologies if I'm wrong the last time the spread was of such the share price fell. Look at the graphs over the last 2 year end results. Gone up for a bit and then declined over time. Acquisitions are not making much of an impact. This new project they have come with will take time. So not much has changed then and that is the reason the share price does what it's doing. I think it is a good company but too many bits here and there taking time to turn around. I took lloyds because PPI is coming to and end and sentiment will shift soon on this one. Sat we need to pull the golden cracker to find serious backers. All based on my opinion. Yep still looking for shares in sat at the right price
I spoke to soon ;) anyone else notice the price hasn’t moved (other than slightly within the spread) since the announcement on the 26th...could be a sign of things to come until the deal is done and dusted, roll on month end.
oops.......! All the best (have a good weekend all, a long one!)
I'm more patient than 3G........... All the best (close may get better!)
I am surprised the mm's have managed to keep a lid on the SP this week with the number of buys that have gone through.
To be there first doesn't matter, and to evolve your core doesn't matter...ask Apple ;)
Sells getting smaller @ 8.311p and buys on the larger side :) All the best (looking forward to the close buys!)
Dan1nat1 let me know mate, When I queried the name change :) 26 Apr RNS sec 16 I fink :) Historically, the Company's core competency has been satellite broadband. However, the Company is fundamentally technology agnostic and now operates a portfolio of different technologies, including but not limited to, satellite, fixed wireless and cellular 4G/5G to deliver turnkey alternative broadband solutions to achieve maximum coverage and market penetration with profitable delivery. And so I'm so well on board with that, hence the II interest also :) All the best (Bid watch quiet today!)
Chesh where are you mate, out in the sunshine lol... Chesh your thoughts please on the latest news 4G please. Thanks.
Jsmith, 4G is not YET the core of SSW's business. Two of their core and traditional markets are the UK and France (from memory generating 50%+ of overall revenue?) out of almost exclusively satellite broadband connections. Both of those markets are undergoing an extremely fast-paced evolution, with 4G being rolled out increasingly quickly. Technically speaking and performance/cost per GB wise, 4G leaves satellite way WAY behind. On that basis, it's absolutely the right move for SSW to bite the bullet and get involved with 4G (and presumably 5G to follow in a few years). It was either that or watch the subscriber base plummet in its two homegrown markets. Sure they'll still happily do satellite in areas where population density and geography make other network types economically unviable e.g. Australia, the Nordics and maybe some of the old Eastern bloc. But Western Europe? Apart from specific and specialist vertical opportunities, the writing's on the wall for Vsat, IMO.
4G is not the core of SATs business, 4G is a diversification not necessarily a bad thing at all, still expanding and increasing their market presence.
And this is why I posted tomorrow's chat log. And this is why I sold recently. What did it for me is when ariels appeared on church roofs. For me SAT is too far behind but I don't run a company I just invest in them. Uncertain future but I wish you all the best.
So... the boys in Bicester have finally woken up and smelled the coffee - or at least have faced up to the inevitable. It's about bloody time. As of today, the Europasat UK-based website is also and newly offering 4G home broadband. Here's my take on the downsides and upsides of such a move. Downsides? They're at least a year late to that particular party, so have both a steep learning curve to go through and fast, plus a lot of catching up to do.. Their margins on 4G will be dramatically lower than they are used to. Possible difficulty explaining to the city why in one of their core markets (the UK generating approx 33% of their revenue) they've recently acquired a wireless ISP for a fair few million, only now to jump on a bandwagon (and network) that they neither own, manage or build. Upsides? Given the truly horrendous rate of churn and the ever-accelerating marginalisation of satellite delivered broadband in the UK and Western Europe as a whole, this was the only sensible move for SSW to make. The possibility of now having a solution that'll help retain existing customers via conversion from sat to 4G. Reduced margins are way better than the zero margins delivered by lost customers. In my view on balance then an overall positive - but it does make one wonder about the health and longevity of SSW's core traditional business - in geographies like Western Europe at least.
