This take-over is dragging on. Having invested in this "dead Duck", the view of the market, not my opinion. Looking forward to getting some of my money back, after 20 years of R S A failure.

No dividend at all. Besides RSA's dividends are extremely low!
As expected no dividend !
Last post: NitonNton, 29 Mar 2021 15:24
No, not at all.
Not much info forthcoming - much of what is available on link below fwiw
https://www.rsagroup.com/investors/offer/statements-regarding-offer/
Long Stop Date (1) 18 November 2021
(1) This is the latest date by which the Scheme may become effective. However, the Long Stop Date may be extended
to such later date as may be agreed by Regent, Tryg A/S (“Tryg”) and RSA(with the Panel’s consent and as the Court
may approve (if such approval(s) are required)).
Has a date been given yet when we will receive the cheque, does anyone know

If memory services any further dividend will be deducted from the 685 offer price. I am not sure if there is a cut-off date for due diligence or any financial penalty if the process is dragged out for a long time.

Could there be another Divi before takeover is completed.
Still 6 months for this deal to close. Assuming the mid point of Q2.
(685 / 677) ^ 2 -1 = 2.4% annualised. However, potential future dividend payments may effect this.
https://mergerarbitragelimited.com/rsa-insurance-group-rsaif-acquisition/
No mention of the Preference Shares. What happens with these?
Thanks Wolfbag.... very much appreciated :-)
At 672 it appears the II believe it is a done deal. Funding is in place and DD shouldn't be too much of a concern
685 (soonish) v 672 (now) - less than 2%
I can make more than 2% today with that money - nice profit over all

I’ve cashed in once qualified for divi.
Had hoped Aviva might have had a look but still expect further consolidation in this sector, maybe L&G . Hope so I hold both.
Please ignore as not relevant to RSA, and apologies to all for using this as a means of contact.
Wolfbag2, I am 'aegos' [a corruption of ageos] and have no connection with anon1234. I am a geoscientist and former CEO with 50 years experience in global exploration geology.. Click on AGEOS and scroll back to Oct 13. 2018 for beginning of OMI coverage. Best of luck with your investments. No need to respond.

@ Geordie1962... Yep... once upon a time an £8 share (£40 in todays money), solid as a rock.... an awful merger, a couple of poor CEO's and a no blame culture later .... Mr H has done well to get it this far but for any long term holders, even with the dividends/scrip issue etc there's hardly a CGT liability here... A tenner would have been better...
Bang on agent x20 looked back at my buying history prices, this was a price when things were not going well and now we have been listening to the hymns n praises of how Rosey ?? things look surely £9 to £10 is achievable??? I vote no ... Not that my vote counts lol xxx
£6.85 - that's only £1.37 in old money... for a long term holder far too cheap .. as per my last .... a tenner ( please) ...
£6.85 and get the interim dividend. I doubt we`ll get anymore than that in this current climate! great to finally get a takeover bid on one of my UK shares this year
Really ? 685 not enough ??

hi all
was there any gossip there was a takeover imminent?
and do you think there could be more than one emerging in the future?
Holding a large chunk of prefs here. Wonder what will happen those.
Hopefully the offer will not happen,I prefer the dividends every year , I guess won't be popular with that veiw

Think they will move up significantly on the basis of q1 results - excellent imv.
Yeah indeed and a bigger share rise than I expected in one day, let's hope it doesn't drop away too much before end of trading as it frequently does.
was today
Some nice large share buys 'after hours' on Friday, maybe a pre-cursor to the SP moving a little higher?.

Hi all,
I k now this a bit off topic but tried to day trade today for the first time on halifax and fell foul of their negotiated button being at bottom of first page on mobile. All I was trying to do was go to the amend/cancel buttons I know come up from the desktop site, but the negotiated dealbuttom whilst scrolling the page. This goes straight to the deal being done rather than the normal cross platform of are you sure question that Microsoft, unix
, apple, amazonand every other site I know of asks you before committing pence and not the thousands of pounds we all do on these site's. Complained but hot a rather uncaring not a problem response. So asking those who do use Halifax and those that might. Do you think committing yourself to a financial decision should be the default of any financial institution please either complain yourselves or get back to me
it cost me thousands and may cost you if you don't take extreme care on your share dealing site.
ah the best from a disgruntled share investor

I was in a bar, listening to some RSA employees from the nearby Dean Clough Mill offices discussing a planned big move by RSA to a town centre building that is currently being gutted and refurbished. The building is high profile and used to be the Local Authority Headquarters. During the conversations they were also talking about a likely takeover of RSA by Zurich and that some current/new board members were previously at Zurich.
Let's hope for a boost in the SP

Strong performance Having experienced a challenging period in 2013 when it recorded a pre-tax loss, insurance company RSA (LSE: RSA) has delivered a strong recovery. Under a refreshed management team and with a new strategy it has been able to not only return to having a black bottom line, but has also delivered three consecutive years of double-digit earnings growth. In fact, in the last three years, its net profit has increased at an annualised rate of around 38%, which suggests that it has found a successful strategy. This has allowed it to raise dividends per share by 87% in the last two years, with further growth set to come. RSA is expected to report a rise in shareholder payouts of over 30% per annum in the next two financial years. Its capacity to pay a higher dividend is set to improve, with its earnings due to increase by 15% this year and by a further 6% next year. Even with its strong growth in shareholder payouts, it is still due to have a dividend coverage ratio of 1.6 next year. This suggests that its 5.1% forward dividend yield is highly sustainable over the long run.
