... says whistleblower.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/04/17/ground-boeing-787-dreamliner-jets-safety-fear-whistleblower/
"Boeing’s global fleet of 787 Dreamliner jets should be grounded for safety checks after manufacturing errors left them structurally unsound, a whistleblower has said."
"Engineer Sam Salehpour, who will testify in the US Congress on Wednesday, claimed that a race to speed up production had led to serious issues with the aeroplanes including small gaps between sections of fuselage."
Jesus... Hence, if it's a Boeing, I'm not Going.
Not good news for RR if it happens. Trent 1000’s are on about 35% of all 787’s so it would hit RR’s Total Care revenue stream.
Correct MJK1, but they stand to benefit from any increase in Airbus usage.
GE can’t say the same.
MJK1 ok, I understand your comment, but if I looked at the glass half full, wouldn't that lead to an increase in A350 operational hours?
A350’s are not far off being fully utilised at the moment so how would you increase their operating hours? Agree it could lead to more A350 orders from those airlines that are currently wavering but the production lines are already at full capacity for years into the future so it wouldn’t be a short term benefit.
I agree again MJK1 but I think the last update of physical production expansion for RR showed they are geared up for a huge increase in near term
Increases.
On a side note, I also hear through the grape vine they’ve secured offices in Glasgow - big increases in the landlords SP today.
(I need to confirm if that is RR PLC or the car makers! Early news!).
…. Yes, Regional REIT Ltd (so not a PLC) reporting massive increase in revenue due to RR PLC taking offices within Lightyear (grade A offices near Glasgow airport).
Could be old news.
Did bit of digging and the Glasgow offices were leased to RR in September 2023....Although it shows up in a press release yesterday??? Same Sq footage so the same offices (I would guess).
According to an RNS (released yesterday) on Regional REIT's page they're at 90% in a flagship office at Glasgow Airport - RR are mentioned as "new" tennants although as I said previously this was actually announced back in September... all a bit odd...
Very interesting PEAKDREAD!
As Retirment would have us believe, RR PLC has reached its peak. I’m not sure a very expensive tenancy agreement close to Glasgow airport backs that up. 😂
I seem to remember an article somewhere regarding these offices being leased to assist in a large recruitment campaign by RR for the best talent in the Nuclear field in conjunction with the the "New Training Facility" in Derby
Great info RamDerby 👍👍👍
Anyone who thinks RR has reached it's PEAK needs their head examining. We're on the cusp of manufacturing SMR's and re-entering the narrow body market. The company could literally double its revenue in the next 10 years (and that's probably being conservative :-))
Quite agree PEAKDREAD.
Unfortunately, money doesn’t always equate to common sense. 👍👍
Back to Boeing..... They're getting anihilated in the Senate hearing - Loads of clips on twitter such as the below....
Boeing whistleblower Ed Pierson just told the Senate, “I’m not going to sugar coat this: This is a criminal cover up.”
He says Boeing illegally stopped conducting thousands of quality control inspections and hundreds of airplanes left Boeing factories without those inspections.
turkish parts deal now confirmed (if my cat vine is correct) so that's concrete, in the bag, sorted, finished, over and done with.....
$20bln is a big deal - post the 230 airbus from dec 2023.
rr is flying (pardon the pun). but it really is. time to look at my mcap chart and see what other companies are hovering around 33bln gdp with this much impetuous.
jebus! just checked. zero is the answer.
check here if you wish to compare:
https://companiesmarketcap.com
so many different variants you can bring up (geo, industry etc) to then see where you see rr fitting in.
currently #454 as i post this.... i won't even mention some of the ****3 above us!
OK, it's rising.....
https://companiesmarketcap.com/rolls-royce-holdings/marketcap/
I reckon this could be £7 by early 2025.....
You reckon? Maybe feb? 🐈⬛
🤣
I'm not jesting by the way when I say ww.companiesmarketcap.com is the best tool in my catbox for instantly recognising shares to invest in. I know not many people have the time to look at every company 10 above and 10 below RR PLC at any point in time, but when I'm not drawing, I play chess, and when I'm not playing chess, I do silly things like look into fundamentals of 20 companies either side of RR at any point in time, globally, nationally, industry sector, etc..... yes, I'm that boring!
And that's the WHOLE REASON I came up with a 70bln MCap for RR (back in 2020).
Method in the madness I'm afraid. It wasn't just a cat plucking figures out the air - it was a boring crayon drawing savant like JTT who knew his stuff.
Someone throw some matchsticks on the ground!
... quick correction.... when I say WHOLE REASON, I mean I also liked the fact that RR had a 10 year R&D over anyone else in their sector. Hence the SMR and Hydrogen advancements we're now seeing/going to see benefits from.
Anyway, to many insider details being shared.
£7 close.
Using your feline logic nettles WRT Mcap is quite enlightening. RR must surely rank along side Ferrari, VW and BMW in terms of propulsion, transport and tech advancements in their respective fields. Brand and sentiment also play a part in these companies. All IMO of course.
Exactly - it gives a good indication of where you 'think' RR should be sitting amongst its peers at any given time.
