I have shares here and in Wincanton. Then a load of aim shares that are probably worth about 20-25% of their value when I bought them. This share is acting way too much like it's on the AIM. Had a tidy profit here up to a couple of months ago and was thinking of adding more but as soon as there was a placing I thought, oh no not again! I should have sold then. I'm at a loss to why this (not very small) company's share is plummeting!

-10.5% !
sitting on my hands for the moment down 9.5% and falling like a stone. I remember Yell PLC and their acquisitions which forced eventually forced the company under back in the day....going to wait for resistance and will look to buy after GE Thurs or Fri
I've been baffled by the share price all day since it started falling so fast after its results came out. I was searching but I can't find anything, I find it very strange.
Stonking set of results and good divi, this has been on my radar for some time. I don't really share the concerns about the company being acquisition heavy. Anybody have any other negative info I may be missing? I just don't see reason for decline in price today. Do i buy now or do I wait to see if Corbyn is in power on Friday morning and buy for 6.00? ;@)
Packaging group RPC's profits more than doubled, yet it fell 2.2 percent, among the worst-performing mid-caps. Some brokers had raised concerns over its acquisition-heavy strategy. "The group has tried to address these concerns with increased disclosure in these results but has clearly failed to satisfy the market," said Nicholas Hyett, equity analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown. (Editing by Alexander Smith)
I'm thinking maybe the uncertainty surrounding the election.
Hope you're right but why the drop?
Just topped up 815, nice rise tomorrow hopefully.
No logic to this. Terrific Y.E figures way ahead of targets. 50% increase in divi. Shares open up 3% but now down 5%. This is a great top up opportunity
Due tomorrow and a sizeable drop today. Doesn't bode too well but hopefully nothing to worry about. On the rise again tomorrow I'm sure-maybe :)
Finals due on June 7th, will make interesting reading .
Took some searching but :- Price**********Coopers LLP Chartered Accountants Birmingham Well there where last year, and I assume they have been reappointed at the AGM
Who are the auditors?
Why are there so many positive ratings for RPC if some think of it in the same category as Rob Terry's Quindell ? RPC is very profitable, growing by acquisition and merging successfully. To hell with criticism of the number of plates !! Some can juggle many more plates than others.
over the last few years rpc have had various rights issues and the dividend has increased as well as the share price and debt. there comes a time where you start to worry that the rights issues are paying the dividend and whether there is some sort of financial wizardry going on that we do not understand
Any clue what's on with this sp?
...so did Rob Terry and his management ...until..... Nothing is is certain in this world. I will proceed with caution
Yes I have HL view, and I am taking a back seat with a look and see policy. IMO RPC are in a position where the share could up or down. Examples were big drops on Thursday / Friday last week 30th and 31st. However today 3rd April has seen a good increase. No hurry and I will wait for more stability
Completely agree with you. Hoping for a steady week. Just a slight rise would be nice.
Maybe this price is a buying opportunity but there are plenty of other good stocks to put money in that are not trading under this sort of cloud. I'm holding but certainly not buying until the uncertainty clears. "RPC Group (RPC) is expecting revenues to be ‘significantly ahead’ and is planning more acquisitions but Hargreaves Lansdown has warned that the plastics company may be spinning too many plates. Analyst Nicholas Hyett said following its rights issues earlier this year, RPC had ‘reloaded the war chest and looks prepared to return to the market’. ‘However, with several pretty sizeable plates already spinning we would prefer that the company sticks to smaller bolt-on deals for a while, at least until the newly enlarged group is properly settled,’ he said."
If there are accounting irregularities then ......................... If not ,i see it as a great buying chance and at under 800 i am in .After all ,the current mgt and specially the CEO have an excellent track record and have delivered great returns for us shareholders.
Well good luck guys. SP rising a bit now. Long may it continue!
May be shorting (spread over many clients) rather than 'dumping'. May also be trying to pull the sp down enough so that purchases can then be made at lower prices. Others selling are helping the future buyer do the latter. I await an sp recovery as fast as the drop, but of course don't know where the bottom will be !!
