AngerSharkz, how long after a short position has been opened must it be declared, I thought it was a couple of days?
If short positions wer opened yesterday then someone is expecting a retrace back down through the 180's. Vesa review outcome is due by Monday 10th Oct. at latest, so someone gambling it will be turned down?
I.D.S. ?
Well spotted.
There will be a holding company and the companies will be split.
RMG UK is holding GLS back and needs to see if can stand on it's own two feet.
GLS in 10 years. based on it growth rate since inception if it continues to compound the growth, when the GDP eventually recovers to normal levels it will not only surpass the turnover of RMG UK but it will likely have £1 billion a year in free cash flows.
The change of name is just letting the companies intentions be known to the wider public.
The split is coming.
I have exited a few positions today from what I averaged down from in recent weeks, the next couple of month's will see UPS report on October 25th, VESA, the trading update in November and obviously any dispute updates.
GLA.
We are usually bombarded here, but there is an absence of obvious Trolls. Their not required for the time being as the Company is being damaged by its own workforce. In the meanwhile the shorters continue to take the "bread from their mouths"
How short sighted are some :-(
simx, BlackRock, Citadel and Marshall Wace are jointly holding a 2.82% short position however the reporting threshold is 0.5% so there may be several holding positions of 0.49% and waiting in the wings?
I spent a large part of the day watching the RMG ticker and was perplexed that whilst the sp was steadily moving up, Sell volumes were outnumbering Buys by 4x or 5x, so the sp should have fallen. I had a look for reasons as to why the sp can increase when sell volumes outnumber buy volumes, and found this:"The price going up is determined by the movement of the bid and the ask prices. The control over that lies with the market maker. ""But you will often see a day where you have a price rise accompanied by capital outflow Or conversely a price drop accompanied by capital inflow. That is created by the short transaction of the trading period. So if the price rises and there is capital outflow that tells you that short positions are being established. If the price falls and there’s capital inflow that tells you that short positions are being closed."Anybody know what is meant by 'the short transaction of the trading period'? Would be useful to be able to spot when short positions are being opened or closed
@Time2Kill I realise the question wasn't aimed at me, but imho whether the strikes continue or not the outcome will be the same. We should never have got here in the first place, and now neither side can back down. I believe RMG have played an absolute blinder here and the CWU used the only tactic they have thus playing right into their hands. There is no "out" for the CWU, they're all in and they can't back down. RMG are very clearly showing that the CWU are welcome to their IA, because that has given them the right to rip up agreements. RMG may be being aggressive, but they're playing by the rules (that were agreed by CWU and RMG) so they really shouldn't be accused of foul play. I may be proven wrong, but every single card appears to be held by RMG at this time, the CWU are losing public sentiment (imagine throwing away several days worth of wages when everyone is panicking about their fuel bill next month) and posties are publically saying they would rather destroy the company than continue working for it.
I've been in DOs lately. It's crazy. They're clearing more of the USO now than they have done in months because the appetite for overtime is so high. They'll strike but won't lose the money. Overtime rates are lower than the basic hourly rate, and we're far more efficient when we're busy, so thanks to the posties working their days off and doing overtime to help us recover from the action that you say should cripple us.
This is not hypothetical. It is reality. I see it every day. The covid pandemic has given Royal Mail managers to do what they want. If jobs are lost or vacancies not filled it will get worse.
You want a business to compete in the courier world, but job cuts do not work. And nor do the majority of suggestions that Thompson makes.
Of course, i'd turn up for work. Just so that Thompson can strip away everything that he can? Would you?
That just shows how blinkered you are.
You'll be pleased to know that my strike fund takes me up to the very last day of action, as we know it.
You wouldn't want me to be out of pocket, would you?
Oh no! Hang on. YOU DO!!!
One thing I will guarantee ?? is once the changes come...longer routes ect...the posties will moan and moan...BUT..
Once they realise they will have to do it...and completed...with no extra pay until completed...they will get a shifty on and do it...if not...follow that lovely discipline proceedure and say cheerie o...you carnt do the job..look elsewhere...this will happen in some form or another
Keep striking boys
Catch you in the week..Internet at 1 bar:-)

@ Anger. 20.00 post
"""""if the operation is loss making with no way of stopping those losses……say goodbye to members of staff. It’s very very simple.""""
Excellent thought process. So, you cover up the vacancies by removing them? Is that correct?
Thereby dropping more work onto the remaining duties, staff? Is that correct?
And in one fell swoop you are saving hours?
So, what happens if these new extended duties fail? And they will in my office. What happens to all the important mail, that we spoke about the other day, doesn't that matter any more?
You're also forgetting that the customer, the sender, expects this mail to be delivered by a certain day.
Or doesn't that matter either?
And what about the parcels? We are a parcel business after all. What happens to those items?
An ode to maximise:-
Why shouldn’t you mock a dyslexic dwarf?
It’s not big and it’s not clever.
claiming he's spoken to many that have no idea what will happen to them. He must look for orange coats ( makes a change from the white coats he used to) or goes chasing mail vans around. They probably look at him blank because they think , who is this ****womble.
Love it....seen as I dtop off over 100 parcels a week at two of our local sorting offices, you get to no quite a bit over the years...even walking the dog past the pickets with 4 old people there...a few weeks ago I asked them about going on strike..which opens pandoras box...blank expressions...the union there no clue...I even had to print off the agreements for them lol...a week later the rep told me they carnt rip up the agreements...lol...clueless springs to mind..
Keep striking boys...
Winner if you agree to r/m
Winner if you don't.... :-)

Can you explain your above post? The changes that Royal Mail want to implement on the blue-collar workers. In detail please. Especially the ageing workforce thing. Where do you source your impeccable knowledge from?
Glad to see that you averaged up today. Well done. You must have made some money. I hope it goes up again tomorrow.
Bres1960, so your quite upbeat about the situation then?.....lol
Maximas does talk crap. He must be a postie stalker, claiming he's spoken to many that have no idea what will happen to them. He must look for orange coats ( makes a change from the white coats he used to) or goes chasing mail vans around. They probably look at him blank because they think , who is this ****womble.
We will. Because you are clueless just like your clueless clucking mates. 24/7 blah blah blah , invested in a company you know little about. Still not answered where the job losses will happen in a company that is short of over 5,000 workers and is hiring more agency by the day at double the cost, just to tread water. Answers on a postcard
'Economic plan?' Tory Plebian Gob****es couldn't plan a birthday party at a local Mc Donald's, for a two year old child.
Tory economic illiterate imbeciles..
Given you clearly have inside knowledge can you explain:
what will happen if posties continue to strike v what will happen if they don't strike and the CWU just accepts all the proposed changes?
I could very well let you no my friend…but with the time you have available it would be more beneficial to read through a few months of threads then come to your own conclusion…you do what you feel is right for yourself…which ever way you go the outcome will be the same,it just means one will be more painful than the other,if you honestly cannot see what’s going on right in front of you then god help you
Keep striking boys:-)

P45 and new pair of slippers in the Post
A company that “needs to innovate” shouldn’t be giving out hundreds of millions in dividends to shareholders and then treat its employees like they are the problem.
Soooo last year..keep up…that money is being spent right now in Madeira….
Either get on board of ship out…
More efficiently, streamlining until your bum gets sucked in,faster work rate, less overtime and more productivity, less sick pay, make lots more money made to give to shareholders and pump up your rate of pay in the future…if it helps
