Typo. I meant to say 'isn't worth striking for'
We had a team briefing today. I have to say the tone was very much that the company want to win us over rather than forcing things on us.
Some things were only relevant to our office and area - start times may change by half an hour, maybe no change at all. This is nothing as the start times have been changing so much in the past couple of years I have to have a picture on my phone to remind me what the times are for each day at the moment. Doesn't help we have people on 30, 35 and 37 hour contracts who all have different start times as well as some duties that are 37 hours no matter which contract you're on.
Sunday working was mentioned. I do Sundays already anyway so nothing of interest to me there. Just surprised me that one postie asked if it meant we'd still be on a five day week. I didn't know anyone thought we'd be going back to six day weeks.
Basically they're saying that it'll still be voluntary but, if not enough come forward, they can force it on people who've started in the last few years as their contracts already include Sundays (I posted about this a few months ago).
A couple of posties were commenting that this is worth striking for so we'll see what happens.
Completely separate from the pay offer though and, on that, we're (nearly) all united. We'll see what the half year figures look like in a month or so. Will be interesting as there'll be a full rundown of everything.
I have been writing posts on this board in the same vein as yourself for the last several years.
And that sort of writing has "been the wall" for the posties a lot longer than that.
Iam pulling your wings my friend

trust me...there could be a lot worse to come.
Last night a postie I was talking to broke down in front of me. Turning away, choking on words, and valiantly fighting back tears, this giant of a man said to me: want am I to do, mate? 19 f..k.n days?! What the f.ck am I to do?!
If this goes the full 19 days and spills over into the New Year...then the miners strike might end up looking like a storm in a tea cup.
There is nothing remotely funny about what looks like could well come now.
Scamp
Your certainly reading my posts…could not have put it better…just wish the union would stop ducking the argument you put forward:-)
1. The Board has now completed what it announced several months ago...a change of name.
2. The union HAS been passed by.
3. The union is to be reduced to nothing more than an advisory body...with its union reps reduced down to little more than town-criers.
4. A massive cost cutting programme is coming within all depots...especially within the "Network"; this will mean a huge reduction in SA and pressure overtime...but probably not so much for people in delivery.
5. The Board will keep on using 'Executive Action' to acheive their objectives...although they would much prefer to carry the union with them.
6. The posties must realize that the "good old days" are gone forever. Rightly or wrongly...things WILL change.
7. The posties terms and conditions, even their working hours and shift patterns, will be unrecognizable from present terms in a few short years from now.
8. The posties WON'T win this dispute.
9. This will end very badly for the CWU and its members.
10. Kretinsky WILL buy this company.
If this dispute gets just halfway through the next 19 days strike action...it will by then have already started falling apart. This will not be a very pleasent thing to see firsthand. In fact...it will be bl..dy awful!!
As for splitting GLS from R.M UK? Not yet...they don't need to. Kretinsky is going to be left to do that...when he is good and ready of course.
'There?' It is 'Their.' 'Ducks?' You must be a living legend, in your own benign mind? 'DH!'
Another upset postie…lol
Get in line please…you lot are like yellow floaters in a large bucket ready to be plucked with a large hook ended cane..:-)
'There?' It is 'Their.' 'Ducks?' You must be a living legend, in your own benign mind? 'DH!'
comical...and, highly entertaining I might also add)
You are probably closer to the truth with many of your flippant comments than most on here would care to admit.
And thats coming from a postie.
It's easier to put comments into jest...but there's a serious tone to them, and in all probability most will come through in some form...doing a little duck rattling is fun,and light hearted..those that take offence to a little duck rattling as you comment...no deep down as you say,are very close to things that will happen, been around things like this for a while and it's ends one way only..a plan was mapped out, which has been executed to a tee...and there's nothing the ducks can do...there sitting ducks...pardon the pun...it will be everyman for himself shortly from experience...everyone's on board until realisation sets in that they will have no job,and the good ducks will be cherry picked.
Ducks.. get in line:-)
...but (apart from being, undoubtedly, extremely comical...and, highly entertaining I might also add)

You no your near the truth when you get a comment that's pricked a nerve..love it..
I take it your one of the lazy ducks who hopes to bring the company to its knees...oh dear..
Your quackers
What an absolute tool
The company just pushing ahead with there plans, union and employees warned gls will be split unless the ducks get in line…
Union warned job losses will take place unless the ducks get in line.
The first steps taken today with a rebrand.
Could they really take all the packages off the ducks.
Could they really leave them with just letters to the ducks.
Could they ask the ducks to apply for the new jobs and toupee over to the parcel side.
Could they really give more pay as an incentive to the parcel employee side to make it more attractive to anyone inc other delivery companies.
Could they really take the best ducks from the postage side.
Could they then really let go all ducks then not needed over a few months of disciplinary hearings due to poor records.
Surely not,all this without even thinking about what might happen if k gets a hold…
Maybe time to bank another Madeira holiday
Duck for dinner tonight.
Quack quack :-)

Maybe try ShortEurope for Royal Mail.
Thanks for responses. My question though was whether one is able to observe short positions being created or closed in real time if the sp moves counter to capital flows without having to wait for it to show up on short tracker if it goes over .5%, or never showing up if the position doesn't go over .5%
A trade made 08:00 must be reported to shareTracker by 15:30 the following day.
The simple fact is that the price could just as easily hit either 2.50 or 1.50 in the next couple of months or both.
The LTH and regulars on the board from 2019 - 2020 will be all too familiar with the current trend and trading ranges.
Simx, Correct we won't see then yet. Plus as Oli wrote "there may be several holding positions of 0.49% and waiting in the wings?
