Thompson will get his way and crush then sell off Royal Fail , i do feel sorry for delivery staff but thats it. The hours that could be trimmed in a Small mail centre like Cardiff are insane , indoor staff literally do nothing. They need to outsource logistics as they are working 3 hour night shifts and paid for 8, The transport managers are limp and throw hours around rather than get staff to work their full hours. The union are pretty much in bed with management. The night management team are more 2 faced than staff , the managers think their boss is cluelesss (THEY ARE NOT WRONG) and cannot wait for her days off , so they can run the operation properley. Managers going sick because they were taken off the acting lol. Billy Smart could run it better
Maybe it could be alot more successful.
"A person that runs a company that always knows best is a very poor boss" - correct Dynamofc unless said company is successful and profitable which mine is -
Quote from FT "The group said it planned to axe about 5,000 full-time roles by March and the equivalent of about 10,000 positions by August next year."
Looks like I was right, but hopefully it's not the end, but instead just a smaller company.
Well-done Unions, you have done it again.
A person that runs a company that always knows best is a very poor boss.
Dynamofc - don't be daft - I use to work in communications, now I work in finance in charge of my own company and have made a success of it - previous employment history nothing to do with if someone is capable of doing a job properly, that is why you see chief execs from different industries going into other fields of work - if someone who worked for me told me they knew better than I did on how to run my company I would explain why I can run it better and if they still refused to accept this I would get rid of them - RMG like any company, is not sustainable making losses - like the print back in the day, they fought tooth and nail to stop automation and look where it got them.
dyor etc
Peaky, please don't post stuff like that if you have no idea of the roll of s postperson. Which you obviously don't.
Carrington. Simon Thompson didn't even know what an RTS was, and his previous record with Morrisons and NHS track n trace doesn't hold him as the best example to use.
Never said I knew more than you Dynamofc - I said you knew more than Simon Thompson - one thing we can both agree on though is the RMG share price is tanking good style - I said on this post a few weeks ago that shorts were increasing indicating a big fall when the losses were announced and it has played out today - down 16pt at 176p - it will soon be time for me to buy - gl dyor etc
Carrington. We have all just had the brief. The managers have confirmed that most of the vacancies will cover the redundancies announced. They also confirmed that you can apply for EVR but don't get your hopes up as you are very unlikely to get it. So I certainly know alot more than you.
Hey Dynamofc, I take it by clueless moron you mean the Royal Mail chief executive Simon Thompson as it was he who announced the redundancies - good to know that you know better than the guy in charge of the company and it is you who really knows the future destination of RMG - rather like the voilin players still playing when the Titanic was sinking - good luck with the tealeaf reading matey
Didn't take long for the clueless morons to chirp up. At the last count the company was running at just over 9, 600 vacancies on delivery. So that's 400 job losses probably managers and collections.
Amazing how many on here don't listen to information already supplied by those in the business. Add on top the huge fines coming for USO failures and this doesn't look good for shareholders , without the vacancies being filled they will never meet the USO.
"Dave Ward is the new Arthur Scargill - led the miners to the top of the hill and led them back down again with no pay rise, no money and no job at the end of it all" - This was my own post from the 5th Oct and looking at the BBC headline a few minutes ago it is going to play out - people trying to make Dave Ward out to be the saviour, the messiah are going to pay for it now with their jobs - Dave Ward, the man who wouldn't even listen to the pro strike newspaper The Guardian when they advised Acas mediation, because he knew better ffs
dyor etc
Well, that will learn them for sure.
A big rush to up skill to trolley pushers at Tesco??
angryboy quotes on IDS ..."Well, the 30 day review period for VESA’s proposed stake increase are well and truly up by my calculations…….it could have been extended to 45 days but there has been no communication around this.
Come on Rees Mogg it’s time to spill the beans sunshine."

I think GJL has an obsession with Strap ons.
When Royal Mail is sold off it will be down to Union reps like you Anthony (Dynamo FC rep from Stratton, Swindon ) with your archaic union ways.
No more RMG paying you for full time release Anthony!
I’m enjoying you winding him up wolves keep it up
I am still holding them guys to account boys... don't you worry
If was good to start with then Anger and Maxipus found the IDS board and it’s gone downhill from there
Far better on here now all those bitter investors, that have lost their pensions have left. The new forum is like a Far Right meeting.
