Oh my bad sorry , yes it's tomorrow. I was thinking it was Wednesday today for some reason. And yes AS its the ballot for terms and conditions .
You sound homophobic redplonker. A new low for you , which is saying something.
Dynamic, Really! I am surprised. I would have thought being a postie you were up to your neck in ****e day in day out.
Maybe you need to get out of the closet more often?
Phunt73 I know you will be much closer to this but I thought it was tomorrow at 4pm ish for the result.
Apologies AS that wasnt very clear I think they did it almost as a bit of a triial so may well be they are doing it again and perhaps for longer.
ASharkz I think they did this a few months ago. It will pick up some domestic items and we have got to hope the sales force are out picking up the bigger contracts. I guess we may pick up some repeat customers and my wife assures me more on line retail companies are charging to return items so throwing in a free collection may entice a few from other providers but as usual will depend on total cost etc.
I've never known anyone talk as much ****e as Redplonker.
Well the ballot result is due tonight , from what I remember the price went up just before the pay ballot result aswel. Strange.
The pay deal agreed at John Lewis :-
3% cash bonus + 2% increase in salary.
Hmmmm, to continue :-
A high percentage of the UK workforce deserve an increase in salary. They are not however intending making the lives of fellow citizens harder by withdrawing their labour.
I cannot imagine a situation where I would work within a Company where felt undervalued.
Wolves. I notice a not so subtle change in the tone of your posts ;-) Don't go completely over to the dark side! You have always come across as a strong character and I imagine physically strong also. This prompts a certain disbelief regarding your statement and a question, when was the last time you were "kicked"
You are also in danger of elevating posties to sainthood with your "key workers" statement. There were many that did indeed sit at home instead of working. Also countless non posties that worked during the same period.
The fact is that
Wow, 58 posts on what would otherwise be considered a slow news day. It's nice to see that you can keep yourself amused during wet playtime....lol
just one thing and as i do not invest in royal mail then perhaps my opinions shouldn't count.
when the pandemic started we as posties were given the title KEY WORKERS..... you know that was a badge of honour to the majority of us..... you then carry on putting yourself into an unknown situation to keep going while others sat on backsides claiming 80% wages to which i for one was only grateful that i could get out of the house even though i didn't know the real risk. this country was carried through the pandemic by those who was on the lower end of the pay scale. we were used, not just us but shop workers, nhs and others. the country had to keep going the best it could.... i and others didn't want clapping just to be recognised ... through the pandemic i and perhaps some on here lost loved ones and it was hard... yes it wasn't the fault of royal mail i agree. but during the pandemic their profits rose significantly on the back of us.... imagine if we weren't key workers and sat at home on 80% wage? this share chat would be none existent as the share vale would be zero.... i remember it being @£1.20 just prior to the pandemic... all we as a union is a fair playing ground... we do not want utopia. it seems we are being kicked and told to get up while they can kick us again..... enough is enough and royal mail need to know this as people are and will leave in their droves. a company is only as good as their workforce..... perhaps in my honest opinion royal mail ought to go to the government and demand a 3 day postal service of mail and deliver the parcels 7 days as they want... it will mean redundancies but they will have more volunteers than required. then profits stay, keeping investors happy and giving the staff the terms and conditions they fully deserve
ok anger... not personal... thats not my style
@ JBT.
"""More importantly lets hope they will be talking to ST very soon (thanks Ispy for info - any other details?)"""
I'm reliably informed that this was posted on workplace. Why Thompson feels the need to let "the team" know this via social media, is beyond me. I haven't heard anything from the CWU negotiators though. Which i find slightly odd. Could Thompson just be bumping his gums for the sake of it? I hope not.
5 people standing up against something we believe is wrong?? You might say we are united in the cause, some might say a union of sorts. Even though I may have been the main contributer I would not say I am the union , collectively All 5 are. Simples;)
anger you are making yourself look a right fool..... just look as past governments and their manifestos.... silly man
Who's who isn't really that critical is it? For me its about the roles, employees are members of a trade union and they pay fees and from that senior officials perform duties on their behalf. I wont put words in ASharkz mouth but I think he was drawing the parralell with Government as once you/me elect them or pay CWU reps they are the people who make the decsion and/or representation.
Dont want to prolong the debate but again I believe it was about what you i.e individuals on here do as the union, what % payrise did you ask DW/TP to negotiate for you? Perhaps at CWU conference there may be some general direction requested by reps and activists etc.
At the end of the day the CWU negotiators (who I think would be classed as members) will ask/negotiate what they deem appropriate then put it back to members generally with a very clear recommendation to accept or not.
More importantly lets hope they will be talking to ST very soon (thanks Ispy for info - any other details?) I hope its not a case of ST trying to be seen to be doing the right thing and meeting but it will either be to reiterate the business position or agree next steps to find a way forward. I sincerely hope its the latter but not feeling very confident.
Other news is no sign of any further activity from shorters.
Because you haven’t got an answer because you know the postman are the union
and for the record i vote blue......but i can be persuaded otherwise but not by starmer or militance but by common sense.
I’m still waiting Anger who are the union that
the difference between a union and a political party is simple..... a union looks after your interest in the best possible way... a political party tells you they will until elected.... fact
I didn't say I was a postman, I'm not. I have just stated facts.
Angersharkz No your not a solicitor.
The two people you have named are not the CWU. They may not be members of the CWU.
They are officers of the CWU, employed by the members of the CWU to act on the members behalf.
i'll make it 5... members are the union who pay subscriptions to be represented..
