Sturm, I too am invested in TXP; and when you look at the 90% plus water cut at PTAL you would wonder what the issue is. PTAL are managing to drill horizontal wells and AICDs to limit water to maybe 20% initially so they are getting pay back on their wells within a couple of months. The water cut increases but its all profit. It will be interesting if TXP can do the same but PTAL has the advantage of good aquifer pressure and flow rates. I remain invested in both.
Also Advance energy looks interesting, Malcy put it in his bucket list and today sound even more positive after interviewing the CEO, DYOR.
Totally agree. Protests and disruptions are part and parcel of investing in ptal. Been happening for years. The company needs to keep drilling and delivering and the share price will take care of itself.
Talara needs oil and petroperu have started oil and gas production again - the pressure is on the govt to resolve all the issues.
@Investor81 Nice find! I guess we might have something more than 0s in a week - or sooner depending on how fast they can resume pumping.
As long as they're drilling I'm not too worried about protesters. But it's Peru and that's why it's trading around 0,26p and not 126p. With the long delivery time of ONP, Talara will pretty much be up and running at full capacity before oil in the pipeline will enter the refinery - it's a 8 month journey. So there should be a lot of pressure on the regional and national government to make a lasting peace. However, it's Peru...
I don't even hold a grudge against the indigenous people - sure it's a pain in the b. - but they've so far received close to zero compensation for hosting a polluting industry for decades (yes, PetroTal is better).
I expect they'll work it out eventually and it's still a very profitable and cheap journey we're on.
@viable, still in TXP, not going to exit anytime soon (adding if/when I can). Somehow people got spooked by 40 - 50% watercut in the (hopefully huge) oil discovery, Royston - PTAL has 80-90% watercut so that amount is nothing to worry about imo. Next reserve updates in both PTAL and TXP will be freaking huge.
Seems like there were protests at station one which have now been resolved.

The blockade was lifted at Station 1, in Loreto, after a productive two-day meeting that ended with the signing of a document between the Executive, PetroperĂș, Petrotal and the native community of Saramurillo with commitments in favor of its development and care of demands.
The commitments assumed will allow the unloading of crude oil and its pumping through the Nor Peruano Pipeline.
Dialogue meeting was held with the participation of the Executive, Apu of the native community of Saramurillo and the commission of 29 people from said community, the District Municipality of Urarinas, representatives of the Regional Government of Loreto, PetroPerĂș and Petrotal.
Thanks.... no oil so far? Doesn't sound good but the share price has gone up.... hopefully an explanation soon
@ 18:15 - Thanks. That's quite a comprehensive account.
Reckon I shall continue to keep some powder dry.
From the FB group, very interesting

HI Sturm how do you get the latest production update?
They did say they would have to curtail production even with protests over for two weeks ?
I wonder if the docks are still occupied. Or CPF-2 completion is causing the halt. Just odd to see the string of 0's IMO.
