Good spot Pete.
Suggests EDF have a long-term interest in Pod Point.
Not sure that explains today's rise, but we'll take it!
There will be a trading update from the company on 28th July. EDF the majority shareholder (approx 50%) was 84% owned by the French Government. EDF being nationalised & French government buying remaining 16% of EDF by Public Tender (offer). EDFs sp risen on back of this. Not sure what EDF will do with their holding in PODP. LGEN own 25%, the rest free float I think. Can't see LGEN wanting any shares going private for 100p since the IPO was 225p. IMO this is going up from here. DYOR etc.
Guys I am looking to buy in here but the share has drop quite a bit lately, any info going forward please
"Electricite de France SA's nationalization is set to cost more than eight billion euros ($8.07 billion), Reuters reports, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
-- The French government would likely launch a public offer at a premium to the company's stock price, as a nationalization law through parliament would take too long, according to the news report."
I don’t have confidence or capital John haha. Got investments in IAG, Jet2 and cineworld. 1 of which is doing good. The other 2 poor!
Fingers crossed for me too. Unlike PP I don't have the confidence to top up here
I suppose today was better than it moving another 10% downward. Fingers crossed this is a bottom
Good article. Thanks for sharing. I particularly picked up on the planned (always note "planned) Gov't action to require a percentage of vehicles sold to be electric. "The government is planning to adopt a zero emission vehicle mandate, which will require manufacturers to sell a certain percentage of those cars and vans from 2024. Nelmes urged ministers to ensure the level is stronger than the proposed 22%". Although 22% isn't loads higher than the 16% current, the latter is a figure across all manufacturers. So some will have a long way to go to reach 16% let alone 22%. Should result in some great electric car deals so even out sales of ICE and mean the market average is much higher than the 22% or whatever is set. Great news for PodPoint and others, but a wait of 2 years for the rocket EV's need.

Some positive news...."Battery-powered electric vehicles continued to be popular, with sales up 14.6% to 22,737 in June, lifting their market share to 16.1% from 10.7% a year earlier." The only bright spot in the car market are the electric vehicle sales.
The market doesn't know how to price the company. Current market cap. of £152m. Take off £96m cash as of Feb 2022 = £56m for a company that had £61m of yearly revenues. The price is absurd and I'm more certain than ever that PE, Shell or BP will be sniffing around with a longer term view in mind. Like it or not, the future is EV & PODP are well established hence why I have significantly increased my holdings in recent days. I'm a contrarian investor on this one now.
With good news about EVs.but this company down over a half from the IPO the message is clear. The market does not believe this business model.will succeed
Not sure what the market is like? Who are the competitors? What is their maket share? Are the struggeling to get an increased maket share?
Lucky for me I just got out in time with a miniscule profit. Considering to go back in?! I am not sure yet.
Are we now down 56% from IPO price. Had to top up today but that's my last tranche.
Personally no choice but to hold now I’m afraid. Broke over 50% loss for me. Bit heartbreaking considering but I guess it’s all a waiting game now
Don't forget the £96m they had in cash as at last report in Feb. Current valuation is 'blank' (fill in missing word).
Just hit 100p. I am tempted to buy a few shares if it goes below 100p. It is currently a marketcap of £153m which is only 2.5x 2021 revenue (£61m). Surely that is a low value. ChargingPoint Holdings is 16x 2021 Revenue (year ended 31 Jan 2022).
Took out a few stops at 100p today I think. Still hangin' in there for update. Convinced this is being worked down ready for low ball offer. No news, very low volume & SP decimated almost on a daily basis. Two weeks 'till update. Things could get interesting. Maybe we just need to get this Tory beauty parade out of the way. Same old, same old.
I know if I were to purchase a car soon it would be an electric, or an electric hybrid.
This is where I find the push down in price soo crazy. Momentum is with electric cars...
It will be interesting to see how Pod Points Net Profit has fared this 1H2022. That will be the key metric i think on whether the price continues to go down, or bounces.

I agree with your sentiments PanamaPete. Although no doubting that prices are on the up, there is the self-prophesising that 'talks' economies into recession, spread by doom-mongers and so called 'experts' and forecasters, who, unfortunately, a lot of people believe what they say is gospel, and hence think it must therefore be true, then shut up shop and don't spend.
I work in commercial real estate. I recall at pre-Brexit times that the Institute of Fiscal Studies and the PMA forecasting that if there was a 'yes' vote that central London office prices would fall by 40%. Fact is it fell by 4% and the decline in Sterling brought in heaps of overseas investment from the US, Middle and Far East, which helped sustain values.
Anyway, GDP is up!
UK economy grows by 0.5% in May. Quick, bury the good news. Fear and uncertainty must be disseminated.
Maybe this week's heatwave will re-ignite the EV debate. Someone on ADVFN mentioned EDF selling electricity at 4p/KWH to Pod Point customers - citation needed.
I got out last monday at 1.31, took a hit of about -40% waited to long in hindsight but also better than what it is now,
it will of course go up big time now.
Another 10% lost since my post noting the steep decline last Friday. Glad some people are happy, they must be considerably more glass half full than me!
Both BP and Shell are stressing their EV investment, particularly the latter who are even taking out TV ads. I'm not selling but I have no confidence to add. I await the half year on 28th with interest, but I wont be foolish enough to don rose tinted spectacles for it.
