"conditional upon the ordinary shares of Pennant having traded on AIM at a price of 100p or more for 10 business days within a 20 business day period". Long term prospects remain sound?
moving now. folks have missed this I think.
£7 mill contract up to £9 mill. Anyone know why this is 20% down and not 20% up?
£7 mill contract.
and margin pressure...and don't like the glib/sunny side up commentary in results ...want to see better fcf before consider rebuying
?
not Britishness (otherwise cd be nationalistic lol).. ..but much the same.. ..incl.. ...fair play/play by the rules/obey law & respect spirit of law ..vive la difference/toleration of others, but not (necessarily) equal esteem of alternative to normative
hardly inspires...but that's true of most elections here and abroad ...we are lucky to enjoy a long history of moderate mediocrity..democracy seems incapable of offering anything much better ...the electorate should be challenged over their lazy assumptions: growth good, liberalism good, monarchy good, flag/nationalism good...but that doesn't happen in a mature democracy... and I am happy to stay in the UK so shouldn't whinge... too much ...Here's my manifesto for the Responsibility and Solidarity Party (Jolly small membership lol) ..1. Assimilating secular Republic (less liberal than multiculturalism...normative...vigorous assertion of Britishness and responsibility to contribution to common good/wealth) ..2. Earned Citizen's wage (earning through national - or decently long - community service...best approach to erase poverty trap: the current steep withdrawal of benefits for poor workers as they earn money) ..3. Secular Jihad on tax dodging: no ifs/buts...no tax avoidance schemes at all (including ISAs and pensions)...no non doms: work here/pay here..no offshoring of profits: all assessed corporate profits in UK paid here irrespective of jurisdiction of incorporation...individuals pay tax on all capital and income earned..in current year..end of ..4 Reduce Population (growth is main source of damage to World)
Yes, agree, it will be exciting. And yes, expect a coalition but of what colour?. Mixing all colours together we do not get white, but a muddy brown (need I say more?). As Bob Hope once said about the U.S presidential elections, Reagan v. Carter ?, it isn't so much a matter of voting for the lesser of the two evils, as the evil of the two lessers!. Regards CM
my only take is that it will be exciting ...so like most of the pundits, I expect coalition ...probably the SNP are the mostly beneficiaries? ...but I have no great interest...neither Labour or Tories are radical in the 1970s/80s style...so neither pose much of a threat to the dreary tax dodging, greedy, soul shriveled egotistical, un-public service status quo ...(guess I'd vote Green on principle, but may not vote at all...certainly wouldn't change the result in my inner city constituency..but every vote sort of counts a v v little to register preference..so I am being lazy lol)
snap (though I was smelly student on my one visit lol) ...now have children, and the Lakes seem obvious place to take them ...hope all well
tks...haven't visited for more than 30 years, so warning re parking welcome ...heard a concert on R3 and it sound good craic ...agree re markets (but I have been the wrong grumbling perma bear for so long that I have now begun to doubt my own PoV)
Good evening Jolly. No, I have never been to Keswick's Theatre on the Lake, so no experience. I believe it is very good though and probably worth a visit. Car park will probably cost as much as entry knowing our dearly loved LDNPA. Not tempted to buy back into GBO. Just feel that if I did re-invest it would be another seat of my pants experience. Sometimes we just have to learn to let past loved ones go!. Past experience has been that when I do re-invest they tend to go wotsits up!. Usually a sign of getting too emotionally attached to a share. Also, I am not sure that there won't be another shorting attack on the company. There are plenty of other companies out there vying for my funds. Any views on the upcoming general election?. A little cautious to invest pretty much anywhere at this precise moment with so much being unclear as to a result. Markets lining up for a period of uncertainty imo and we know what that generally means - volatility. Mind you, having had a coalition over the last 5 years the market will have had some experience of a coalition now, so have an idea as to what expect - just don't know who will get in bed with who!. Regards CM
all good, thanks...do you ever go to Keswick's Theatre on the Lake?..I'm tempted, and wondered what yr PoV/experience was ...also, r u tempted to rebuy GBO?
Good evening Jolly. Thanks for the post. Yes, I have had more time to look into the results in more detail. Also it was flagged up yesterday on Stockopedia which was most useful. So, I have held back from investing again; managed to avoid heavy finger syndrome this time and hold back from hitting the button. Stays on my watchlist for now, but further down. Hope all is well with you and your investments. Regards CM
the op profit went down...and this is still on rel high EV/EBIT ...the tax credit is not going to recur?
It's been a long, long time since I posted on here. I sold out back when the share price was around 66p having made 50% profit. PEN has remained on a watchlist ever since though. Expected todays results to push the sp over 100p and stay there, but something has pushed it way down. Very tempted to buy back in. Need to check first though as to why the sp fell, and look for any negatives to give me any warnings. Moving this forward onto a more prominent watchlist. Good luck and regards CM
Riddler, are you still in ACTA?
Looks like you got your wish. Another good contract win - revenue is partly a timing of when these contracts are fulfilled but generally there is a growth story at a cheap valuation here.
Looked ok to me. Hold and wait share, hopefully they can get some contract win rns out prior to Christmas to move this up before results
Bit disappointed on the fall in revenue vs PY but margin/profit/div increase is nice. Pipeline still looks strong so no real change to the story really, buy/keep and hold.
Results seem good to me but does anyone know what the market expectations were?
