Can’t see anymore revenue from Astra considering there is a world glut of vaccines and other companies are cheaper and better suited to its manufacture. Oxb were very quiet about the ending of vaccine production !
Not great but news seems to be mostly built into the sp. Just where it goes from here over the coming months is a concern.
Maybe hedging his bets. :-)
OXB CMO Rao now also Sitryx CMO? Can't see any OXB comment - is it now a part time role (reducing salary costs) or are they consulting him out. Or is more going on here?
It’s going to take some spectacular news tomorrow to reverse the sp direction. Fingers crossed for those holding.
Spoke too soon. Market certainly isn't pricing in expected good news. Not long to wait now and I assume they must make some forward looking statement which might enlighten us on where they are with AZ and the vaccine.
Sorry should have added full results out 20 April.
RNS out but markets seem uninterested.
I cant find anything either but they must be soon unless there is an extraordinary delay which won't do the share price any good.
Creeping back up atm
should read ‘to date’. Results probably in the next few weeks.
Last year it was announced on the 15 March 21 for the 15 April 21 but no mention of results so date that I can find.
When is the results published?
That mey be why they are saying nothing about it though you would have thought it was significant enough for them to have to inform the market - but who knows - I certainly don't as exemplified by stupid buy at £9.80!
Reported in December… there now seems to be a world glut of vaccines with some nine major players in the picture.
The world's largest vaccine maker will halve the production of its Covid-19 vaccine because it has no fresh orders, its top-ranking executive has said.
India's Serum Institute is sitting on a stockpile of half a billion doses of Covishield, the local version of AstraZeneca's Vaxzevria jab, the firm's CEO Adar Poonawalla told CNBC-TV18.
Can’t put my finger on where I read about the vaccine. ADVFN makes some reference to it… hopefully incorrect ?
Hi Shatter
I am still here looking at the wreckage that is my shareholding in OXB.
Where did you find the reference to no more revenue from the vaccine as I thought AZ was pushing ahead with it even if it hasn't got US approval, but perhaps it is manufacturing it elsewhere.
I still haven't heard back from them on my questions on the vaccine so I guess all is not well. Given they ramped up production capability to provide it you begin to work if it hasn't got itself into a bit of a pickle and hence JD leaving and the current terrible share price.
No more revenue from the vaccine! Can’t understand adding Homology to the portfolio? Cash burn must be a real drain on what’s left in the coffers. How is Oxb going to afford this and pay back Oaktree ? Just my musings. Had pondered over whether to buy back in but don’t see any upside. Will they have another fund raising? Answers on a postcard.
Morning Kern,
The AIM does seem to be hard work at the moment. Oxb are very quiet about the AZ vaccine so maybe they are still in discussions? Surely they would be duty bound to inform the market of such a loss. On the plus side it may have found bottom for the time being. Very strange times at the moment. Keep well..
The people who bought at 810 must be happy. Same at Sar where there were large investments at around 8p (before consolidation) by HNWIs and it is now just over 2p in old money. Its fall has been even more dramatic than OXB - from 9p to 2p in a few months; and even under 2p at one stage. Angle well down as well and VAL so my bio stocks languishing badly - as are most of the others to be honest.
Morning Shatter
As you know I have tried to get into the finances of OXB for years without much success as what they produce is pretty opaque on detail but it seems to me that if anything happened to the AZ contract they would be in great difficulty as it is hard to see alternative income covering these loan repayments.
SP still in the doldrums and I am still in the red!
“The Company has fully drawn down the $85m Short Term Loan Facility with Oaktree which has been used to temporarily bridge fund the Acquisition and the $50m cash injection into Oxford Biomedica Solutions.”
Not sure how they are going to repay the expensive Oaktree loan!
Looking at my portfolio this morning especially pharma shares, it`s like a scene from Reservoir Dogs, I wish my crystal ball was working now, especially with no positive news here. The email responses from OXB were polite but told me nothing about anything coming and I assume the terrible events in the Ukraine are affecting everything, what a sad world we live in, as we start to come to terms with the pandemic, we now have another new Hitler to deal with.
Ukraine is absolutely tragic and getting worse so yes losing money on shares pales beside it but other than contribute to DEC or equivalent what can we do?
In this case I don't see this continued fall as part of the general market; there is something peculiar to OXB driving this. Obviously we don't know what it is but last September we were over £16 and now look where we are with the bod still saying they don't comment on sp movement. I think the silence on the vaccine is telling but what do I know. Last September AZ was not far off where it is now so it hasn't had this catastrophic fall..
Are we now at or below the consolidation price as if so that is some going!
I think in general terms the markets are having a bad time but not as bad as those poor Ukrainians, which puts things into perspective. The horrendous performance here has been going on for quite a few months now, just hoping we can get news on something positive soon. GLA
papucel…. tried to read some of your other posts. They are very insightful ( not)
and at times quite aggressive. English obviously isn’t your first language but you are giving it a go! Calm down and g.l.
