Any idea of the cost per Tonne ?
The stock sells for £30K per tonne it does not cost that
From recent RNS below
‘Stock: there was 13.9metric tonne of SlimBiome® taken from stock held by two partners (Maxum and Cambridge Commodities) in 2023 compared to 2022 (up 39%) representing a value of £417K. Stock held by Cambridge Commodities, who supply the UK market including Holland & Barrett and THG, currently stands at 8.5metric tonne of SlimBiome and Maxum, who supply OptiPharm, hold 16.0metric tonne. The Company has commenced manufacture of replacement stock for Cambridge Commodities as it anticipates most of this stock will be used for existing orders planned for delivery in the next few months. Maxum stock use is averaging 1 metric tonne per month. The recent agreement with Costco and the appointment of Ravenswood, a subsidiary of Brenntag, should accelerate usage with the aim of stock replenishment later in 2024. The planned expansion by OptiPharm of its products into Asia and the USA is expected to increase demand for SlimBiome’
We can surmise it costs £30,000 per tonne to produce the core product based on above.
So give or take somewhere near £1M of stock is required as a ball park figure to be able to double sales maybe ?
Rest of the cash as they say on marketing?
With no debt and increased stock then £1.4M raise looks reasonable to fund the planned expansion ?
Any views ?
This was an EIS raise so effectively the buy in price is 14p, but to get this you have to stay invested for 3 years, and the company be applicable for 3 years. It means we won't get a lot of selling of the 20p stock down at 21, due to the EIS benefits, and the price should go back to where it was. EIS may lose its appeal at higher prices though but it is a good backstop.
Yes be very interesting to see the spin Tw puts on this.
Given the scale of the opportunities, the Board has decided to raise additional capital to capitalise on these growth opportunities and build shareholder value
So the sp drops 12%. Some shareholder value!
In my view Opti is not much different than a number of the companies that TW criticises for lack of progress, lack of income and likely discounted future fund raises. This may be one of his largest holdings but one of his least successful holds probably.
I'm thinking the same with this. The products opti have just aren't that brilliant. Just another option on the shelf in a few outlets.
Is TW going to change his mind from a bull to a short on Opti now Swanny the clown has bought in on a cheap placement.
This dilution on its own isn’t catastrophic but it does signify a deterioration in outlook in my opinion.
Let’s be honest, Opti has been subsidised through the sale of stock for years because it has been unable to turn a profit. SOH would have been looking to the stock in SBTX to buy him time here. Now though, that well has run dry and the dilution begins.
Call it what you will, either the market simply doesn’t want our products or the manageMent is incompetent. It’s one or the other after this amount of time.
This remains a punt ion Sweet for me. If it wasn’t for that, I’d have ditched this years ago
Guess the writing was on the wall with only two of the four Business Units briefly reaching month on month profitability and the temporary collapse of the SBTX sp not enabling SOH to use his preferred funding option of selling shares as a cost effective alternative. I don't believe the money will be used to increase staff numbers but will be spent on advertising through influencers in new market areas.
Not the most positive of announcements. A fund raise for marketing and driving (further) sales growth. And, to me what seemed like an afterthought, the launch of SweetBiotix and MicroBiome Modulators. So the hope is that, for SlimBiome, increased sales revenue will (eventually) cover increased staff costs. (I presume extra staff being taken on?). And, a launch of SweetBiotix soon!
PS: director purchase.
Not for the first time, I find myself pondering whether this POS will ever actually start to wash its own face. Even turn a profit. Not for the first time, I reflect on how generously SOH rewards himself, year after year. Going to need to make a decision on this one soon, I think. GLA.
At previous support level... having said that its over 7% dilution too. Lets see where it ends today. Gla
Shame about the SlimE biome!

Thanks for the links, aqua. I Opti still sell Pbx products in their store. https://optibiotix.online
PG, first of all you are posting on the wrong BB, Probiotics are PBX products. Secondly, you need to understand the difference between good cholesterol HDL and bad cholesterol LDL, LPLDL raises the first and lowers the second. Finall, I have used the C holbiomeBP and successfully lowered my blood pressure to normail levels for my age. https://www.heartuk.org.uk/cholesterol/understanding-your-cholesterol-test-results- https://optibiotix.com/product/lpldl/
Its been a while since anyone discuss their cholesterol levels. I'm seeing a lot of conflicting info on the subject, which is good and bad for Opti. There is a growing amount of data that argues the higher the cholesterol the lower the risk of a heart attack. Much of the data goes back to lobyists in the sugar industry deflecting from sugar being the real problem not cholesterol. There's also a growing body of evidence arguing statins can only extend your life by as much as 5 days.
My question is who uses Opti's cholesterol probiotics and have you noticed a greater risk to your heart you othrwise would not have been concerned for had it not been for your gp persuading you you need statins or something to lower your cholesterol.
I seem to remember one of the oz partners spending a lot of lolly on marketing. Opti pharm. They still have the old slimming formula on sale as well as the slimbiome and optibiome. https://optislim.com.au/products/shakes-starter-bundle-free-shaker
