Dont want to think about it Wilson , having a sulk.
What's with the Gdr rally no Rns so I don't know(don't hold or I'd know). Genuine question I wish them well.
Avacta - the gift that keeps on taking.
More hype than substance. They are jam tomorrow. No thanks!
Karen - avacta have had 9 months of failing to deliver. I was invested in there and sold out at in autumn last year as it seemed to be there was no substance behind the hype. I was right at the time. I may be wrong in the future. Either way they don’t justify an MCAP higher than Novacyt at the moment
Wilson, cancer is about the biggest market out there so yes I think so. I will stop defending them now because I'm not even invested and never have been, but I'm pretty sure without the novel therapeutic platforms they would not be where they are now. I imagine they'd be valued closer to odx and gdr, i.e a third or even a fifth of what they currently are.
I do not disagree potential is there but no way would I put a lump sum there because if they fail to deliver watch the SP.
Since we nothing better to discuss I would say it's ALL sentiment until the contracts land and that's not belittling them , it's a fact fundamentals=contracts. Dyou honestly think on aim people would wait 6/9/12/18 months for cancer news(I hope it works it would be great for us all. They can't even wait here for phase 2 lol.
From what I understand the potential from their therapeutic platforms is astronomical. The reason for the sp rise is that the LFTs can provide the windfall to fund said projects. It really is quite easy to understand. There are very respected investors on twitter who reckon avacta is just about the best investment out there. Maybe they are right, maybe they are wrong but the fact remains the share price is so high despite zero sales because there is massive potential there.
Ncyt is without doubt the safer investment option of the two right now and I think the market is underplaying the long term revenue covid could continue to bring in long term. For that reason I'm doubling down on ncyt at this price instead of diversifying into a***** but after a year of covid and no sales and still an mcap of £500m, well, it's pretty obvious it's not sentiment alone.
and they got their 48mil? Cash raise off the back of Covid.
Some really good points there and you've summed it up well! 8 - > 12 is still a big increase (% wise) - granted not the large increase up to this point but none the less. But it doesn't sound as good as a risky "£1 - > £5" which gets ramped elsewhere pending "news"
There's plenty of hype and the words "Next NCYT" are banded around a lot in other shares - like you said sentiment plays a big part and people get excited on rumour and expectation which may not materialise.
I'm still under water here as I got in late - it's not a comfortable place to be, but I don't feel the need to get out at a loss. This company acts a lot more mature than others in AIM - doesn't release rampy RNS's or get excited about news that doesn't deliver. That might not fit for people wanting to day trade or 100 bag, but I'm hoping it leads to consistent and sustained growth over the mid-long term.
Just my opinion, DYOR.
Harchris they were sat at 20p March 2019 , think a lot of folks are excited about the long promised test . K
Wilson I would love that too.
Porky9 what's this fundings mental you refer to we have no DEBT so we don't need it. Been for an eye test this morning as a one was missing from the front of the share price, opticians rubbish still no one with these glasses(I really was and he was excellent).
I have no issue of out waiting the bullies sorry I mean algorithms, my only issue is how we few loyal posters don't get a bonus for holding rather bitterly I'd like an intraday Rns market halted for ten twenty mins and a huge premium payable by anybody buying back in......and breathe.
What is this obsession with A*****? I've never invested in them but I don't understand the comparison. Their shareholders are not that excited about covid, they are far more excited about their distinct therapeutic platforms and cancer pipeline. One year of solid profits from the LFTs is seen as the funding for all the other projects they have going on.
A***** doesn't have their future tied to covid, only their short term. Ncyt hasn't yet explained what their own future looks like. Personally I'm not concerned, we have a big war chest and I'm confident opportunities will come a knocking.
I would add to the above, French sentiment in particular as has a 70:30 weighting with this stock......come on you French....don't you realise what you have here?.....wake and smell le café......vive la France.....and all that !
The situation we face here quite simply is that sentiment as at today is MORE important than Fundamentals. We have concreate proof of this.
I don’t want to go into the whole LFT debate again so company names left out but it’s a really good example that a company on AIM can do sod all sales, can’t even win a contract without an approved product but will tell the market that contracts are pending (which is loosely true but could take many months) but has massive “Potential” currently has a higher market cap than Novacyt yet the later is proven and already supplying 150 countries and on course to exceed 173m EBITDA and have a war chest of 278m this year.
Another that may secure an order shortly is unlikely once it won to reach its market cap as it will not make enough EBITDA from said order to get even close to its current HYPED price.
Meanwhile, a snap poll of Twitter regarding which business will deliver the most upside first after 722 votes came out in favour of the two former businesses. Novacyt polled less than 20%.
Further and I mean no disrespect from this, we have a question earlier from Meza1 which is great as its good to share knowledge asking about market cap calculation etc, but it illustrates perfectly that the stock is accessed by numerous unsophisticated investors that are starting out. Therefore, HYPE matters, they are drawn into media speculation and follow like sheep. Many wont even look at the fundamental values they will see a share price at £1 and assume its a cheaper stock than one at £7 without even considering how many shares are in issue or how its value is calculated.
The good news is that it is now a matter of time before the market is completely levelled. Fundamentals WILL out. Contracts will land and companies will need to justify their current valuations.
HYPE alone will not be enough to sustain a share price and I put that timeline at about 6-8 weeks maximum.
In the meantime, yes, a material RNS, acquisition, stateside win, partner deal, DHSC etc etc will all help the Novacyt SP BUT it should not need to. They are delivering results as I write, and this is ultimately what will count.
