If you recall we had 3 x 100k buys when we were around the 220 mark - they could be cashing in for a quick and healthy profit..
In Paris, the pre-closing of the trading session takes place between 5.30 pm and 5.35 pm.
During this time, orders accumulate in the order book, but no execution takes place. During this parenthesis, the market authorities determine a theoretical closing price by comparing the orders.
Pre-closing and trading at last price
Thanks to the pre-closing period, the last price of the day is fixed at 5:35 pm. As during the opening auction, this is a price at which a maximum of securities can be traded. Between 5:35 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. a last phase called trading at last price begins . It allows orders to be entered and executed at the price fixed at the end of the pre-closing period.
Only orders with an equal limit to the closing price will be accepted. Orders with different limits are rejected. They must be reintroduced after 5:40 p.m. At this time, the stock market closes, but orders can be introduced for the next session.
My understanding ( DIY learning ) is the large after hour trades are the average price of all the smaller buys / sells that went to fill the order, so if we started at £2.60 and ended at £2. 87 it could be a buy or it could be sell, it's just that the end of day price is below the finish, which is recorded as a sell.
Over 300p is going to be a right churn for a week. Going to be a lot of guys did brilliantly piggybacking of that death spiral in June. Good on them, but we got the launchpad many of us were hoping for going into July. A couple of weeks ago I was saying I'd have been happy at 270p pre-news. Smashed that.
Gave up counting but about 70 after hours trade in France at €3.20 gone through
Buy /sale it’s gone through now so can move on
It was a delayed trade I would say so could have been a buy earlier in the day hence the SP ! But what do I know with a Sale you would have thought the SP would have fallen but if it was a Sale then then it was mopped up !
Agree CCK, everyone has their own agenda and/or circumstances. Why try and second guess them? It's done and NCYT still closed at 287.5...and with no news being delivered. Chill and have a beer....let's just see what Monday brings.
Maybe they bought £385k 20% lower - now have say £70k free carry - all about managing risk, good bit of business I think.....
What is also interesting is he did initiate that sell after hours when it was slightly lesser that during online day, some positions i just don’t understand!
Or is it he just woke up and did what he wanted to ;-)
I fail to understand why would someone sell
Is such huge volume £395K worth just when we are about to take off... is their some logic to it which I don’t understand or are we being played around by big corporate boys?
@Mehta.ck
The dude just made a killing. Likely 30% up or more. He'd be daft not to cash out now, no matter what. Might also only be part of their holdings so they're derisking. I'd do the same, doesn't matter if I think it's going to £5. You bank profit along the way if you've got big sums invested.
After close at lower price 279
Agree was a sell at that price vs size. Is maybe why we didn’t hit £3.
Bright side is it’s out the way & SP still at £2.87. Bodes well for Monday
GLA
Why such a huge sell
Wonder?
Thx.
But the sell was all the day long, or only after the close ?
It was definitely a sell:
