Agree Bricks... this is a nice hold for a bit to see some good profit
Weak PIs out, personally not going anywhere untill atleast 150+. Good luck all!
MagsterW,
I can only read it as it is written!
There is absolutely no mention of any of these acquisitions being share grant options. They were all made after the Half Year Results were published, so were all made in an open buying period. And they were all described as:
Purchase of NCC Group plc ordinary shares of 1 pence each.
Furthermore this website is also showing these transactions as Buys in the Director Deals tab.
Could you clarify how you are so sure that they were Share Options, and not Buys?
Lovely intraday reversal thus far :)
Kenj, I think a bit of clarification might be worthwhile RE: director buys, considering your comment "but if two directors have each invested £100k at 132p then I think that my investment is safe, so happy to hold" is a bit misleading?
Those 'Director Buys' are share options, part of their remuneration package, that they can only utilise outside of closed periods (at least a month before the results are announced - more if they're buying or selling companies like Web Performance, Security Testing, Fox IT etc).
They have the option to take a set amount of compensation either in shares at a 'fair market price' (ie, now, around 120p), or at a heavy discount.
So they're not valuing them at the price a regular person can buy/sell them for. They're either getting them for:
Discount: 'Much less than 120p' (whatever their agreed discount was - likely to be more than 45%* or else they'd just pay the 'fair market price'), or:
Fair Market Price: 'Paying for them' at 120p without having to take the cash as salary, pay 45%* tax + NI on it, and then use the remaining ~50% to buy the shares. (ie - they're getting them for 60p in real terms).
*They're definitely in the 45% tax bracket on their salaries.
Allthatglitters, Lol yes "exuding", lapse on my behalf there, we"re not digging any corpses out the ground, dont worry. At least it give one or two a chuckle, no harm done. Hopefully sellers flushed and as ever good luck to all investors!
Recent volatility in UK stocks, particularly midcaps, has seen a lot of retail investors taking money out, forcing the fund managers to sell at whatever price they can. I suspect we will see some RNS's in the coming days which will show some of the bigger holders being forced sellers. I note that Artemis have actually been increasing their holding. above 5%. Not sure exactly which manager at Artemis this is, but if it's Derek Stuart, this would be a very positive development.
Allthatglitters you've given me a good laugh there!!! I'd read that message but hadn't picked up on that ;)))) There's a lot of nonsense SP drops around today, this Brexit lark and last nights votes have got pi nervous and the mms are milking it... Imo GLA
I think you may mean exuding confidence.
Exhuming...would be rather different :)
offer price 118.24p. ticking up.
err what facts have to be faced......
NCC go ex div on the 7th February but only 1.5p
interim accounts infer a increase in turnover & profit for full year.
Recent purchase of shares by various directors have confidence in NCC
I will continue to hold
I think it's time to face the facts.
Directors clearly exhuming confidence! Drop in SP has left me scratching my head, maybe it's the backdrop of brexit, should be blue tmrw after today's vote if that's the case, nonetheless happy to hold over the coming weeks/months. P.s reckon it would be better if director buy rns would be displayed before markets open and not close!
I bought in at the 127's, really surprised the sp is where it currently... this should have been in the 140's by now..IF not more!
All I wonder if the BOD are sat there egging each other on ' Go on you know you want some, it's your turn today' lol! I bought in the 130s too and yes happy to hold. GLA
Yet another Director / PDMR buy today.
You can't fault the board for putting their money where their mouth is. I bought back in on Monday morning at 130p. Very surprised that this is still dropping, but if two directors have each invested £100k at 132p then I think that my investment is safe, so happy to hold.
I can't see the shares going ex-div making much difference Sugardaddy, when the dividend is only 1.5p.
CFO bought more shares today. This drop is getting silly now. Directors buying shows confidence. I'm topping up also as I expect this to rise over next few weeks/months.
i remember this share when it dropped to around 110p. i don't recall the low of the day it was back in 2017. possible it went under £1. kicking myself for selling out way too soon as it went over £2. just checked i did buy some at 92p..
Can't understand this drop? More buys than sells but the BOD happy to buy. Brexit vote today perhaps having a negative effect? GLA
i've doubled up and the some today. lowest price i payed was 119.5p. my 1st buy was at 136.2p.
NewDayToday, Agree, look at zoo digital, director buys on 24/01 at 65p, look at SP now. This won't be as explosive as that, nonetheless expect a healthy return in the coming weeks imo, gla!
