Yeah, have a good week-end guys.
I can't remember seeing this BB as quiet as it has been lately.
Next week might make up for it.
Thanks Albert, some good observations there. We should not forget, especially some of the people behind the aliases on this page, that this company is being run for the long term, to deliver an innovative, perhaps disruptive technology across the music business. It's not being run to satisfy some of the near term immature demands thrown about here. Patience will be rewarded I am sure. Enjoy the weekend, next week is bound to bring plenty to talk about. I hope, anyway.
hello albert.wouldnt disagree with any of that, except i think it is possible we may get a bit more "napster"detail than i originally thought.im no accountant but the fact that napster as was, was categorised as discontinued operations from the 25th august (see my posts on 11/6/21) may mean we get 4 months or so detail, but perhaps with the potentially negative accounting treatment for prepayments. it's not a long period even from 25th august ,so not expecting much, but i think there should be some figures.we shall see. entirely agree that the first half year figures for 2021 are going to be far more revealing and important.
Italian/Aimigo
The new app is still a work-in-progress, so until it is released there is no point in PRing it because in effect, there is nothing to PR.
N & G's additional funds should bring it forward earlier than Q4 which was the original aim. And it is quite possible they may also use the extra cash to fatten up the content. IMO.
They had originally intended to phase out 'Melody' once the new app was released but are now having second thoughts. Certainly Singtel are associating themselves with MelodyVR.
As the Napster deal wasn't completed until the end of last year, we can't expect too many figures for FY 2020. more interesting should be H1 2021, due by 30 September.
What we would like however is news, and in particular concerning JGO.
New York seems to be keener in getting Broadway up and running (Broadway.com, JGO's subsidiary are preparing their venues from September) than UK is for re-opening the West End.
That said, it didn't do any harm in staying under the radar with the musicals during lockdown. IMO. We didn't want anyone trying to eat our lunch which is what some have had the opportunity to do with the gigs
wouldn't argue with any of that aimgo.it's certainly very frustrating!
Thanks. I see the sense in keeping them separate till the new app and merger is complete however I share the frustrations that social media is not being used to advertise current Napster service to keep the subscription figures up and push the branding. Things like their partnership with SONOS should be flaunted.
Buy a brand, use it!
i assume its part of the stated strategy of keeping the two brands/functions separate for the time being.i make no comment on whether this is sensible or not as i simply don't know.
MelodyVR now own Napster, from the Napster website Facebook link it understandably takes you to Napsters Facebook page, I'm guessing melodyvr will have taken ownership of this page?? Nearly 1m likes compared to 58k surely they should be posting content through the new Napster branding and taking advantage of the larger audience?
ok keith i can see that.helpful thanks.
It's a safe way to test marketing reach using older material, rather than new acts. They will be able to garner a lot of web metric information from this.
Haha i can relate to that alright
Just to be brought back down to earth with the heaviest of thuds :)
DC probably just a bit of wishful thinking.a common response to arid periods of news flow I'm afraid.
Facebook hasn’t moved since they bought 60k followers. 2k attrition through boredom .
They’ll be rolling out that Liam footage when he’s on a zimmer.
Liam and his magical t shirt
Hi Italian
It would be nice if it was lubricating the wheels
But I doubt it as they've had mini spurts (3posts in a week ) for a few months now
Looks like Facebook is ticking along very slowly
Yet twitter has only had one tweet this year
Maybe we need someone on 100k a year so our twitter page can keep up
it does seem a little odd for them to be posting references to old performances etc at this point.lubricating the wheels for something new or just nothing new to add? if nothing new why post at all? probably of no significance whatsoever.
I think their off most weeks as they can take as many holidays a year as they want according to the job benefits
Unlimited annual leave
Private healthcare
Flexible working
Subsidised gym membership
We also provide various office perks such as regular yoga classes and unlimited snacks when our offices are fully functional again
They probably are off next week.
Liam Payne now on melody's Facebook
Two post within 20 hours of each other
PR team working hard for their money today
Oh dear .
Unfortunately the common feeling is the prolonged silence is a lack of progress , risk and inactivity rather than the commercial gem to be unveiled. Emperor and his clothes .
Nice to see MelodyVR posting on Facebook, stunning marketing, really scraping the bottom of the barrel with that post and shareholder comments say it all. Dire.
