Is it realistic to expect offices, hotels and public venues to go to the expense of installing and paying ongoing fees for Microtox systems for Covid if it won't benefit them directly? They're presumably not going to be of any use in identifying who's carrying it. So if it's detected, evacuate the building and hope it hasn't already spread? I don't see that happening.
Realistically, the only places I can see them being of significant benefit is in cruise ships and major cities to act as an early warning system, not so much in whether or not the virus is present, but to what extent. Sorry for the negativity, but I'd hate to see the company waste their time (and money) trying to sell to locations and industries with no hope of success when there are a few out there for whom this technology could be crucial.
Don't know what to say?
It is a bit of a non post..sorry, I was expecting more.
San Diego
I see your point but look at the mess this covid etc has made of the work/economy and worse, deaths etc...could this eventually be mandatory in public buildings etc such as things likes fire alarms that are an early warning to potential disaster
Only a thought
"could this eventually be mandatory in public buildings?"
I'm not sure if you're being seriousor not, but no, of course they won't. In what possible way would that solve the problem?
think about it you have a hotel/office you have real time covid detection as soon as it dected you know someone in building has it now you have 60min testing kits so you test everyone to find out where it is isolate it and everyone thats come into contact with it but personally just the knowing how much in sewerage is a biggie for me can spot outbreaks and where instantly
also think cruise ships and norovirus (if they can get that to work)
even if we get a antivirus jab this isnt going away its the new polio guys
But the polio vaccine pretty much wiped out polio...
San Diego
Yes I’m being serious, how many things are imposed on us that we never really use, plenty of things,it could be part of a public buildings insurance policy where if you don’t have preventative measures/detection,you don’t get insurance...it’s a term of risk assessment
Have you ever heard of insurance or risk assessment for places?
That’s what I was meaning!!!
I would rather see the alerts triggering counter measures such deep cleaning areas and swabbing of people.
polio 1960 -2018 eradicated took them a while ......:-)
A vaccine could eradicate the virus but as oldblue highlights it could take years and very unlikely be 100% effective you can't vaccinate the whole planet but people can move around the globe in hours.
Newuncle
Exactly, that would form part of the RISK ASSESSMENT!!!
also just a thought that black conical sensor they showed us could that be all you need to detect it and you have a CENTRAL micotox unit processing a whole area? so you might not need a microrox unit in every hotel etc? ideas mr brandon?
Or would it be in the method statement? I know my RAMS
That’s what I was trying to get at in a roundabout way and we all know the most important part RAM(S) safety!!!
See my point yet San Diego
And I’m not trying to prove you wrong, just thought you were taking a dig about me being serious!!!

old one april20
They could make it mandatory to have monitoring in for larger potentially high risk sites such swimming pools to include COVID 19 RAMS that require a detection system with real term alerts that would trigger works to deep clean the site within 24 hours etc.
Also venues like the 02 in London, football stadiums the list is endless
In case you missed this earlier from Gerry Brandon's blog:
Our future is in the Group teams who enable us to drop our developments into the under-exploited sales, marketing, and distribution channel of Modern Water
So they detect Covid at a football stadium, spend the next few hours testing everyone and then when they've found who has it, they send them home. Is that how you picture this working? Or do they just cancel the match outright on the first sign of an alert? Is there another option? The system detects Covid but then it's just ignored?
I didn't mean to cause offense. But no, I'm not convinced these are serious suggestions. Maybe I'm wrong. I guess we'll see.
None of those, the alert would mean the owners have to act within xx time period to make the site safe to open again.
Add track and trace would mean anyone at the venue would need to get tested at home etc.
