And once HyproMag is fully owned the US newsflow will soon come especially when you weigh in factors such as this !
https://www.mining.com/web/dead-ev-batteries-turn-to-gold-with-us-incentives/
'A little-publicized clause in the US Inflation Reduction Act has companies scrambling to recycle electric vehicle batteries in North America, putting the region at the forefront of a global race to undermine China’s dominance of the field.
The IRA includes a clause that automatically qualifies EV battery materials recycled in the US as American-made for subsidies, regardless of their origin. That is important because it qualifies automakers using US-recycled battery materials for EV production incentives.'
This is all cutting edge, you can't just rock up at the local rare earth recycling equipment shop and pick this stuff up. Exciting, once the blueprint is in future plants will be much easier to commission.
Absolutely massive news IMO!! It's just proof that whilst many think that the company is doing nothing, it's in fact nothing but! They've actively been working behind the scenes putting this humongous jigsaw puzzle together! Travelling around the globe securing feedstock for our Hypromag program, establishing a feasibility report for for future expansion and negotiating third party expansion partners.
When that MDA lands, Jesus, this will accelerate substantially! It'll be hard to keep up as they're ideally positioned to fill a gap in the market that is widening on a weekly basis with all the groundwork laid!
A lot of investors want to see bangs and flashing lights, and I have to agree in most cases the 'PR' aspect of the BoD/Company is lacklustre at best... but no doubt, they're not idle and consistently working away securing a solid company!
Probably news on full Hypromag purchase next week that ought to unlock further positive newsflow
That's great to see. Looking good for production timeliness and profitability
'Delivering a 88% energy saving when compared to primary sources, this will be the only place in the UK where Sintered Rare Earth Permanent Magnets are manufactured at scale.'
Worth something that
The plant is coming together :)

Hmm you may be right
we own 80% of HyProMag, but Cotec will get a 50% stake in the US sub directly (not via Maginito) so correct would end up being 60/40 in favour of Cotec
I can live with that but thanks for pointing it out!
GLR1990
Isn't the US JV with CoTec a 60%/40% split in CoTec's favour , since the JV is with Maginito, and Cotec own 20%?
It is - that's likely why the prior ATH here was upper 30s rather than low 40s (my valuation of Songwe).
Some nice large "sells" kicking in - Galmut's mob doing their FUD job of course - fingers crossed they reach for the 7s floor valuation ...
Yes that's their terms as we saw with Globes MDA
As a side note, I was re-watching the recent presentation again and noticed some fine print on one of the slides.
On the slide at 14.45 they have written at the bottom:
"Under the mines and minerals act of Malawi, the government of Malawi is entitled to a 10% free carried interest in the songwe project".
Is this standard, and am I late to the party on this? Seems a bit random to put that as the only piece of fine print on the slide.
Gallmat unsure if you intentions are genuine however will provide you with some information (and for anyone else who is looking to invest)
The IIR as of June 2022 was 31.5% with an NPV of $551m USD
Of course prices have declined, albeit the IRR and NPV would not have been against current spot but the anticipated spot at the time of production (adamas et al)
However due to market forces, the initial capex required may have also decreased $277m
NdPr for example was 100% higher last June, but in June 2021 it was actually lower than it is today - so I dont buy that falling RE prices, which are still almost 100% higher vs 2019/20, is off-putting to strategic investors - what I do think is off-putting is the entire macro environment, the costs getting this to production, debt is expensive, energy is expensive, supply chains are still constrained and Malawi has a concerning inflation problem (albeit requires more FX)
With all that being said, what I think you are truly missing is the NPV for HyProMags Pilot Plants
I cant recall what interview it was precisely, but if you go through recent Cotec presentations, Cotec suggest that each plant in the US will cost $15m and have an NPV of $85m+ (USD)
Now that's profit! (and we now own 100% of HyProMag, 80% of the vehicle and 50% of all US revenue)
US is also zero cost to Mkango, Cotec are funding / arranging funding
Morning.
Well it obviously reduces the NPV - duh - which is why we're at 10p instead of 40p.
Perhaps if you were to ask questions like a real person you would get a better response but that's not your objective of course - you're a pro laying down the same ole FUD routine aimed at getting the dumb and impatient to gift you their shares before the news drops.
Another one for the bin but we're obviously close now ...
I will leave this board.
Reflect on this. I just asked how does the selling price decline of the commodity you mine impact your npv.
If all you can do is insult a person who asks the most fundamental question which all investors would ask then i am not sure what to say.
Good luck. Just sorry i could not get anyhelp here of substance.
You should reflect on your comment
Am nothing but optimistic about MKA for the future when things start lining up should be an interesting back end of the year 👍.
Oh jeezus.
Galmut appears, nothing but negative posts. Then each post starts with "I'm not being negative but"
Honestly, people here are not blind. The FUD machine rolls on.
If There was reason to buy mka galmut is it
Is it profitable at current prices?. It is clear are earths are important, but we need to dig it up and sell for profit.
Not sure how not to look at the price of something we are selling?
I can buy tgr. That is graphite, battery mineral. 6x forecast demand growth. Company producing profitably with chance to go.from 30k to 180k output.
I cannot just buy because they are involved in rare earths. We need to be involved in a profitable way
Gallmat, a quick Google of "Rare earths China" will give you a good understanding of how critical these minerals are. It will throw up stuff like China's grip/stranglehold, USA scrambling etc etc etc. I wouldn't worry too much about buying at the bottom...
Just want to clarify again. Not being negative i have starter position here. Any links for info are welcome.
I get they have a good tech. If someone can help me with the projections then i will love to join u all.
But i cannot really have conviction without it. Not being negative, if i do not know profitability of underlying business hard to jump in
With recycling i do see wildcard of subsidies in uk and germany. They know they have feedstock and can then secure minerals within country, so all within your own country.
Subsidies for a mining operation out of africa not sure. Bit more of a stretch. Hence less weight placed on mining. As is reflected in price
Someone here probably will have the £ answers for you... But Mkango is going to be actual manufacturers of high quality in fact possibly best in class Rare Earth magnets using a mix of prime material and recycled ...
And you get most of the manufacturing plants financed for free... Gov grants are expected in US too...
Can be as negative or not as you like ... I just strategically nibble off shares the lower the better for me... potential dividend payer within 5 years this
Again not being negative.
If you had 30% IRR. When what you sold was twice as high in price......!!
Stock is still an amazing buy if recyling is profitable. And best time to buy is when price of what comes out of mine is low.
Anybody have answer on recycling profitability.
This is all honest posting not deramping. I want to build a position. If anyone can point to presentations studies i would be very greatful
You are not going to fund it and that is the interesting question... just who is it that is? as it is probably them that driving the MDA negotiation over the line ...some say the Pentagon...but all to be revealed
Not really. I am not going to fund a mine that costs me 100 to get something that i sell for 80.
But recycling i am interested in.
