Thank God was getting very low on funds and was not expecting it .
From below looks like a takeover at 800p ( took a year )
Must of been news of it when I topped up the two extra buys in August & September 2021
First in 18/1/21 425p.
5/8/21 bought at higher price of 725p .
20/9/21 715p
840p was old target ( hit 839p 3/9/21 )
3157 in got 4280 + 1123 approx 35%
I feel sad that today one of my largest holdings is no more. A great British company at the forefront of technology is now gone. I worry that many more will follow with the falling pound and American desire for high tech.

I've had a message which says, if the takeover is approved in court on 9th September, the money should be paid around 26th September.
to shareholders I mean
When is the money to be paid? Asking for a friend.
It will include any and all shares held, regardless of the time they were acquired
Morning all. Does anyone know if the £8 per share offered to shareholders when the takeover is complete only relates to the shares you held at the time of the announcement or will it also include any shares accumulated up to the completion date?
Thanks.
A 70%+ premium was a fantastic outcome for PIs. Anybody who bought after the initial offer was taking a gamble, sometimes it works out as with Morrisons, sometimes it doesn't.
.... actually held here for about 7 years ..... until more recent times nobody much posted here & that included you as well as me LoL
I had resigned myself to pretty much awaiting for recovery here until the PH offer finally pushed me into a reasonable profit made better by the Transdigm interest..... apart from that not much bothered about whether you believe my selling or not..... thought it was a shame people may have got suckered into paying over £8 a share only for the rug to be pulled out from under them typical poor outcome for PI's & it was that news that prompted me to post here, whether or not it was the first time on this share or not & guess what I probably won't be posting here again as I have no remaking interest in it....
Don't think you've been on here before BANNOR so not sure why you've suddenly appeared gloating about your alleged sell, why not mention it at the time ?
the parker bid, when it came initially, was already talked about as being full. its was very unlikely transdigm, which operates more like PE, would be able to extract significant value on top of the ones parker was seeking at 8 quid. the parket bid all things being is equal, will probably go through, but the noise from the uk government will ensure the shares wont see the takeout price until close to when the bid is set to complete.
i sold at £8.30 or so after buying sub £3.00. No brainers. But the sp just spiked back up! odd. Any reason??

I have also sold today, again a good profit I also think there is no real guarantee that either of these bids will succeed so the down side is a major risk.
Good luck to all the holders.
Ticking back up nicely here. Continuing to hold.
The UK Takeover Panel on Monday set a deadline of September 14 for TransDigm to make a formal bid or walk away.

On the front page of the FT tomorrow morning
Transdigm has given strongest indication yet of an incoming bid. Unfortunately I do not have a subscription to access the rest of the article.
Still holding!
me too. i sold at 820p. I made a good profit. just wish id bought more. I bought under 300p Such a sound company. Any upside will be negligible to the downside risk. imo

I would also add the decline from 750p is also driven by one of the large shareholders selling out. Capital have been cashing out since announcement...once this clears I think this will settle back between 730-750p.
just to make it clear, the takeover is not about cost savings. i read back what i wrote and just wanted to make that clear.
parker hannifin is a pretty big in the field with a very good track record. i think they have maintained or increased their dividend for more than half a century so they know what they are doing and certainly will have the funds to complete. so i dont think any issue will be financial. the government was consulted prior to the announcement and they are on board as things stand, especially the takeover is not PE and about cost savings. Parker is in the aerospace sector and does have some UK government contracts but presently the two companies have little overlap. It allows Parker to move into new areas within the sector. so the only risk i see is dramatic falls in the market or an extension of covid which may cause some of the parket institutional holders to maybe question the price. however its a very small risk imo and i expect the deal to go through. i think the price should find support around the previous high of 7 quid and having taken off a large chunk on the announcement, i might be inclined to add a bit back there.
Been in & out since the covid crash. Sold my few shares at £7.30 after the t/o announced. Just seemed a long time to wait for the £8.
The market is usually not too far out. So there is a 15% chance that the deal could fall through and then the price will probably fall back to £5 ish.
Personally I wouldn't invest just to get the 15%.

This will take about a year to complete, as stated in RNS .
Sold out today good luck all
The recent two Takeovers shows that the ftse is undervalued by a long way!
Thank you
The rns says completion q3 2022
Hi, does anyone know roughly when the transactions at £8 will take place? Are we talking weeks or months?

If it makes the firm more viable and successful, then yes!
Another firm to be under foreign ownership? Is that really good for UK Ltd?
there you go. boom. nice price too. and whats more there are still a dozen or so targets in the ft350 theat may go the same way!
Wow 800p! Am I reading this correctly!! Fantastic news....
it is on!!!!

Yup the signatures won't be palming the graces of the dotted lines for a while yet, but an interested company that's done its due diligence and valued the company more than £8/share, (factoring growth), will elevate the share price. As always with such a large gap before completion, there's a small risk of intervention, good or bad... and by good I mean, third party bid.. maybe.
Until this is signed and sealed there is always a chance the deal could collapse. The price will rise as significant milestones towards completion are reached. Those wanting quick returns have sold today....SP should steadily rise from here and all going well you will get your full £8 at the end of it...alternatively as the SP increases over coming weeks with more certainty you will have the opp to sell out closer to £8.
the deal wont clear for a long time, not til next year. so youve got the risk that in the meantime something derails the deal.
if offer is at £ 8, why are they sitting at 7.30? Anyone please.

Scar re " Even if the deal falls through Parker will have done their sums and these shares are likely be worth £7 plus in 3 years time."
Its a cash offer - you won't get any Parker shares.
Seems a big discount (735) to offer price, so have topped up. Better than 0.5 interest at the bank. Even if the deal falls through Parker will have done their sums and these shares are likely be worth £7 plus in 3 years time.

Just woken up to this great news, I sensed (hunch) it was on it's way two weeks back after the drop to 400p from 500p and the prior talk of a takeover.
Prior to this SNR played out exactly the same with similar drop, then, ..BANG, a 150p-200p takeover eventually rebuffed.

so i bought these at £2.60 after COVID. Not that many as just spent my savings buying low in other companies and only belatedly saw what a great company this is. Question. If i wait until the forced buy of £8.00 rather than selling now, when will i get the money? Q4 2021? Nov time?
lol. Gate door horse bolted springs to mind.
You can always buy back in for a quick profit!
OMG just sold off my holding last week!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a result , had a top value pencilled in here at 670-710. The 50p gap is a strange one RNS clearly shows the government have agreed .
Agree there are many companies lining up to be taken over , shame these brilliant British companies are being sold .
Well done to those that can see the setups and have the patience .

cable is about 2% lower than early may when bid talk was at its peak and the shares were close to 5 quid. i added yesterday and will be prepared to add by tech support in 325/375 region if seen.
I'm hoping this is on someone's radar after the recent speculation that a bidder was circling and cheaper still now after the latest falls.

Have topped up today as we are likely to see a Trading Update in early July. Will review then.
Having previously been over 700 I expect this to go to at least 550 once air travel starts to rebound. DYOR
reaction by end of day now key to near term direction. if they can managed to finish flat or higher, this should move higher in coming days. if they move below the gap 462 price, then more weakness due.

Seems to be some coverage in the Times but I don't have a subscription. Expecting an RNS in the morning either way.
'That would be nice, but that's almost 1 75% premium over last night's close (460p), which I think is not likely.'
I've bought a few below £4.60 because the company is worth much more than the current valuation. Do you think I'm going to be selling for peanuts? Can afford to sit and wait till the skies open up. It is not as if all revenues have dried up. There is the Defence division. The US are flying internally now. Other flights are taking place, some aircraft have been stripped down to carry a full load of freight, which used to be shipped on passenger flights. There is also the Energy division. Meggitt will be trimming their operating costs and getting by. Do you imagine the BoD were thinking yesterday that's all we are worth? They will not be accepting any offers that substantially undervalue the company, as they do not need to sell.
Good point about Capital Group. I think they're positive to have onboard in a takeover scenario because they're super long-term investors and hopefully won't be thinking about a quick buck - should be helpful in making sure that, if she goes, it's at a fair price.
Re "Imho would have to be over 800p to be even considered.". That would be nice, but that's almost 1 75% premium over last night's close (460p), which I think is not likely.
I Dont think this is a takeover trade , however capital group is building a huge position.

The supply was tested around 450, no supply left so price moved up to find a level that people are happy to sell at.
Shows that a large interest is holding / building a position . If you do a point and figure count on the first accumulation area it shows you where this is going.

Yes see this going to£5 and then £7 in fairly quick order . Buckle in , Meggitt make the buckles .
On a march here and much more to come from Meggitt. They seem to have weathered the storm without any additional funding required...plenty of upside to go here.

Can’t say the results weren’t as expected, but still in a great position for a solid recovery albeit a little more delayed than I’d previously anticipated. Dividend guidance a bit open ended (upon stabilisation of aerospace sector), but hopefully 2H21/1H22........thoughts anyone?
There were a couple of 100k buys show up just after the close so fingers crossed they know something :-)
They may elude to it in the results tomorrow
Probably jumping the gun a little here, but any thoughts on when the dividend might be restored? I'm guessing it won't be until September at the earliest. Expect the price to fly once the rumours start!
its falling today. why?
Some nice institutional buying in last two days absorbing the cheaper stock , very encouraging .

Hi dark cloud,
Yea from what I can see this an obvious setback but the dark clouds will shift opening up the blue skies again and from what we can see in the very near future. Fundamentally like a solid business and giving all back to normal I would expect a target of 500.
Will keep my eye on this. Been in airline stocks since the drop which have made me serious gains with still more legs in them.
Hi, Deanmck7
Yes, seemingly low interest from the PI's, but as you say, a solid company that appears to be well run and good headroom on their debt facilities. With aviation showing glimpses of light for their recovery in 2021 and an increased UK defence budget recently announced, I can't see why this won't continue to steadily improve.
Just listened to Emirates' CEO announcing the are to restart their big push on the premium economy service in 2021 with new aircraft being delivered now (they're obviously seeing light at the end of the tunnel!).
To be honest though, I'm expecting a retrace from these lofty levels, before the next drive up! Target around 530.
Good luck!
Morning guys, pretty quiet over here. Looks like a solid company, just lack of conversation as it is progressing pretty well now?

Thought the RNS was generally positive and coincidentally aligned with the positive vaccine trial news. Although looks it might of pushed on a bit too far to hold, but we'll see.
I wonder if Sandbar got out of their short position they'd increased leading into the jump? hahahaha
With the 737 Max looking like it's going back into service any day, hopefully the recovery will build nicely from here.
