Would you say this sale will go through any comments please
A source has informed me Martin Warner was at Hanson Measham last month.
its no secret that Heidelburg have had the Hanson Brick works up for sale for some time: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/37d32aba-85e6-11de-98de-00144feabdc0.html#axzz2tYtIH2su Earlier this month, I managed to get hold of this memo: Proposed sale prompts management changes A number of changes are being made to management reporting lines as we prepare our building products businesses for possible divestment later this year. The proposed sale is part of a Group-wide programme announced by HeidelbergCement at the end of last year as a key part of its strategy to reduce debt. One of the options being evaluated is to bundle our assets with the building products operations in the US and Canada to create a combined business with turnover of more than $1 billion. Included in the process will be our mainstream brick, aircrete and aggregate block operations, along with Floors and Precast, Formpave, Structherm and Irvine-Whitlock. As a result, the design solutions business unit, currently managed within the cement division, will be moved into building products with managing director Matthew Clay reporting to Stephen Harrison. At the same time Irvine Whitlock will move from asphalt and contracting to building products, with managing director Paul Dewick also reporting to Stephen Harrison. Bath Stone, which is currently managed within design solutions but is to be retained, will be moved into aggregates. On the finance side, Ben Guyatt will move from his post as head of strategy and development to become finance director of the enlarged building products business line, reporting to Stephen. Further announcements on Ben’s replacement and changes to reporting lines in the finance teams will be made in due course. I do not expect these management changes, which are effective immediately, to have any effect on our day-to-day operations. They are designed to ensure a smooth transition of the businesses as and when any sale is agreed. To facilitate and oversee the sale process, a project team has been set up, co-sponsored by myself and finance director David Clarke. Ben Guyatt will lead this team, which will call on specialist input from our finance and corporate services functions. At present I can give no indication of when, or indeed if, a sale will be completed, but you can be assured that employees will be kept fully informed throughout the process. Patrick O’Shea Chief Executive Officer HANSON BRICK IS BEING SOLD THIS YEAR.

Michelmersh Brick Holdings Plc ("MBH" or the "Group") Pre-close Trading Update Notice of Results Michelmersh Brick Holdings Plc (AIM: MBH), the specialist brick manufacturer and landfill company, today announces the following trading update ahead of its final results for the year ended 31 December 2013, scheduled for release on Wednesday 26 March 2014. The Board is pleased to announce that Michelmersh is expecting to report a profit from continuing activities for the year ended 31 December 2013. The positive financial performance of the Group reflects stronger than anticipated turnover in the final quarter of 2013, ahead of the Board's expectations at the time of the interim statement in September 2013. The result before taxation will include the profit on sale of the factory land at Telford, exceptional non-recurring costs relating to closure of the Dunton plant in the year and associated Group restructuring costs. Furthermore, following the successful fundraising of £9.6 million arising out of the placing of 22.5 million ordinary shares in November 2013, the Group will also report significantly reduced net borrowings as at the balance sheet date. The Board will be running one-to-one investor briefings during the week of its final results and is available for telephone or face to face interviews with the media on request.

I've seen the changes, where plant 4 and 5 was is a housing estate had a wander round there last year and tried to vision where the stack was and factory was. Had good years there in my 20 ts then when it shut I went to plant 6 on the kilns. I still bump into Kevin riding sometimes although I now he has left and if you new him he his doing well and getting about. Back to these shares this year is a buyers market so the house builders will play our tune I think for a change, like other posters have said brick prices are going up all good news. Happy brick making alb
alrite gaz, hows it goin.yes its looking good at blockleys, lots of changes as you would of seen if you've drove past lately.you in here at the moment?,been a good rise up from the 30's.got a good price with the saye scheme as well, all the wise one's loaded up,and the not so wise one's kicking themselves now.up the baggies(championship next year??)good luck mate.
Been in and out of these shares since 92 ,Blockleys plc under Brian Taylor as it was then. This company is a safe bet and can only see a steady climb, next few years...I worked there for Twenty years -no 3 plant,no 6 and 8.Quality products will shine and this will....£2.00 next couple of years .
Ibstock have put up prices 9% and Hanson 18% apparently due to thw upturn.
Omg I worked there in the old 4 and 5 plant on the kilns. Manager was mick hollihead and john butler not sure if they r still there I left in 1996 and went to chelwood brick which is now wienerberger brick at Aldridge, small world. I think I did about 10 years atb
I do indeed,nearly 20 yrs.
Telford site being blockleys do u work there to now there production is going well fnx
higher come November.looking at a nice profit from the company's saye scheme.options at 19p.the telford plant is moving along nicely.site consolidation, reinstalled unloading robots working well, plenty of blending work, relocation of the new acres land fill site up and running, widening of the land around the existing plant on going etc.gla.
I have sold my original investment. Reasons: purchased as well below NAV and a play on House building increase. I think the share price is a bit ahead of the game-next announced profits will not be great as indicated in Interim Statement. But medium term Outlook I think is positive which is why I have retained a holding but I suspect share price movement will slow down. Could be wrong, but due to share price increase sold 50% so I am in for just about nothing -happy. In a SIPP so I have maybe different objectives than others as need to develop a long term fund for pension!
Factory's now back from xmas break it will take a couple weeks to get back to full production and with the demand for bricks the pressure is on. Also mild weather is good for building, although a lot of rain. In this month quantity and price of products will be negotiated and possibly into next month. All brick manufacturer are putting prices up common knowledge and the house builders have to accept this.
