For no other reason that it’s my birthday and I deserve it, my state pension starts today.
Happy B'day WW
WW
Happy birthday. I found getting an Old Age Pension very strange. Enjoy the extras it provides.
Walkersworld >>> Happy Birthday.
I'll be there one day.
ATB
And the tax they will take off your other pensions
Lol
Hate to be the one to say this but when the US opens expect it to drag us down, S&P VIX 13% up and 10 Y Bond Yield up over 3%
Same things dragged us down Friday
Good old US
Mr birthday tooo.
Vix down 4% and 10 yr dropping
The park swings are wonderful
Vix down 4%?
You need to look at the S&P VIX, not VIX Futures, this is still over 11% ,
Seany123, happy birthday, good health and prosperity to you.
Happy birthday to everyone who has a birthday this week, and well done to falky for making his profits enjoy,I've one a few more p to go and the wheel will be back on my wagon, hope then to start fixing the pile of old wagons from my other investments I've had the misfortune to get involved with, enjoy your day everyone and all those wk end posters take a rest you must be exhausted.
VB, most people don’t realise that the tax incentive to invest in a private pension is taken off at the other end, it comes a great shock to many. ISA’s go some way to help if you invest in the stockmarket but most people have no financial kudos, schools should pay more attention to financial and budgeting education
Well we did break 42p today so my wishes were answered, roll on 43p breakthrough.
Happy birthday WW and enjoy your retirement.
I have held this share for years and have averaged down all this time until today when I finally can say I am in profit, feels like my birthday today ????
Thank you LexiMae, I have been retired since I was 58, fortunately, would hate to have worked until 66 years of age, I was able to retire early as I invested in property and the stockmarket, should have retired earlier than this but the last recession meant I had to work for a few extra years. The pandemic had depleted my funds to a certain extent but I am confident that they will recover in the next few years. I did a calculation last night and discovered my funds were slightly up than where they were 8 years ago so no real loss of capital just loss of profits.

''today when I finally can say I am in profit''
You are in profit when you have sold enough Lloyds shares that are of a higher value
than your capital outlay. If that is now the case for you - well done.
and a loss when you have sold all the holding for a lesser value than the capital outlay -
like ST
Very rarely post here, but was flicking through this evening and just happened to read a thread where someone actually quoted ‘lower level investors’. Funniest thing I have read in ages...and by default must assume that in their mind their investment scale articulates as a ‘higher level. My gosh, just when i thought I had read it all......never mind a higher level...that’s what I call priceless! How funny. Good luck all holders...whatever your level LOL...
