30-3-20 I bought 15,000 Lloy @ 33.606 = £5040

And now that we will hopefully start to receive "proper" dividend payments a double digit yield is possible on these shares.
Bumble -
yes, on top of returning our 2.4p 2019 divi - hopefully 'normal' annual divi returns will pick up from pre covid levels - ie circa 4p per year

I started this fantasy portfolio in 2016 to challenge various poster's perception that Lloy is 'the worst share ever', 'better else where' or a 'dire share',
On the 8th Oct 2016 I invited WL/Newchurch to choose an alternative ftse 100 company, so I could run a comparison
On 8th Oct 2016 - 1000 quid bought 206 BP. shares & 1905 Lloy shares
Today's value
BP. 206 @ 284 = 585
Lloy 1905 @ 45.7 = 779
In April 2017 Invest4life suggested I add Glencore -
On 22-4-17 - 1000 quid bought 335 Glen shares & 1553 Lloy shares
Today's value
Glen 335 @ 316 = 1058

In July 2017 Nucky suggested I add RBS/Natwest -
On 12-7-17 1000 quid bought 384 Nwg & 1512 Lloy
Today's value
NWG 384 @ 200 = 768
Lloy 1512 @ 45.7 = 671

Lloy 1704 @ 45.7 = £779

Today's value
RR. post 10for3RI 1073 @ 95.6 = £1026
Lloy 3367 @ 45.7 = £1539
This week's observation - Covid Infection rates still rising fast - hospital cases & deaths remain low, Adult jab roll out slows, UK freedom day, markets dip, UK enjoys heatwave, Pingdemic, Olympics
A very basic comparison that does not include divi yield, IMO those still suggesting Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dire share' seriously need to examine their concept of investing.

Theosus
While I have to agree that currently Lloy SP is not great . . .
I can't agree words such as 'the worst share ever' or a 'dire share' apply
Theosus,
It's also noticeable that you haven't included say HSBC in your comparison?
Lloyds hasn't done well but scare stories regarding Brexit and people trading on others nervousness hasn't done this any favours at all.
I agree re the dividends, especially the announced one which was cancelled.
Lloyds has underperformed but day traders DEFINITELY haven't helped their cause!
"Stopping the dividends being paid was unforgivable"...
I'll agree with that Theosus, but it's a lot easier to say that now. Looking back to when Covid appeared on the radar, nobody, that's nobody, knew how to deal with the unfolding situation.
To end up with most of the population being quarantined, the introduction of furlough and all the associated precautions it was at that time a prudent measure. Furthermore this action was not restricted to the UK, particularly galling for Lloyds holders.
As I said earlier economic clarity is hard to define.

next week does not equal Monday - another 4 days this week when most re-investments will be made.
So I suppose you bought a huge amount just before Friday close and not earlier on Friday when just a little below today's close?
Hi lti nice of you to take an interest in my post,no I will not buy lloyds over 40p until they deliver,I do have two holdings in lloyds one I take cash divi and one I have on a drip reinvestment so the drip will be over but I accepted that as it's long term, I could stop it in the future if lloyds don't deliver and move to something more productive, I've been with lloyds for some time now and had high hopes but circumstances can change unfortunately at the drop of a hat not always by the bod, outside sources have a lot of power, but you know all this yourself so i wont try teach granny to suck eggs enjoy your evening best wishes over the rest of wk dyor.

Lloyds delivered a profit in 2020 despite the devastation of Covid 19, and delivered a
£3.9 Billion profit in the first 6 months of 2021.
I personally am happy with those deliveries, so not quite sure why other investors believe that shares at the current levels are overvalued, with a market cap of just £31 Billion.
So much for delivery today, more like thank you for reinvesting at a higher price ,cash is king again.
Up 2% yesterday, down 0.2% today. Probably a bit early to say the sky is falling.
Just look at the volume not enough to hold up the sky very unloved share, more like quicksand than on the rocks ,unstable ,imho dyor.
