Patshare - don’t stress about the CTH investment as it isn’t especially material at the moment. It does show intent though. The bigger picture still looks good here. Just need to decide whether you are in it for the short term asset play or for the longer term.
@Ryno34uk
That's interesting - when LDG invested in CTH there was an article I read that said the original founders - Haroon and Farouq Sheikh - were putting together a consortium to make a possible takeover offer for CareTech.
https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/975928/caretech-founders-confirm-plans-to-take-company-private-975928.html
I'm holding for now, I think this could go somewhere, somewhere good.
Not so sure zoolook, the RNS definitely mentions LDG together with some other names, under the management of DBay.
Seems like a tangled old web to me, not a clue what is going on.
Maybe I should give up investing as there is so much that goes over my head!!
Caretech are on the verge of being taken over, which will be good news for Ldg investors.
Don't be fooled into selling because of a little dip. You will always see that after a decent rise, people bottle it and take their margin and run. You would be crazy to jump now, practically zero risk as things stand.
Sorry. Ignore that. Just re-read RNS and the additional purchases look to relate to another client of DBay
Hi zoolook, good spot.
Is that what the RNS means? I must admit those things tie me in knots, and CareTech seem to post an awful lot of them!!
The CTH SP jumped to almost 719p today then fell back to 693p just now, almost like investors were expecting a takeover or something?
Looking like a shrewd DBay investment, with any luck it will help lift the LDG SP.
Who knows Leedsman?
I'm finding it hard to work out what's going on!!
Fingers crossed.
They’ve increased their stake in Caretech to 1,465,497 shares
https://www.investegate.co.uk/dbay-advisors-ltd/rns/form-8.3---caretech-holdings-plc/202203251223310946G/
Bit of a recovery today. I wonder if the low volume of shares they got hold of today will push price up. If they are finding it harder to acquire under 16p then maybe they will have to start pushing their buy price up!!
Probably get millions of the buggers tomorrow now I have said that!
Another slow day, only 112,005 shares added, total now 65,206,627, about 46.58% of target.
Investec must have had a half-day yesterday - only 856,275 shares bought back. That won't help our cause very much.
Total now 65,094,622, about 46.5% of target.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see more investors exiting today and the SP drop back towards 15p but I hope not
Not much else has changed really - they still have a big pile of cash and have made a sound investment with CareTech, and the buyback continues.
Still plenty more to come from LDG in my opinion.
Leedsman
Haha yes mate u could say that
Good luck lads
Berg
Sorry to see you go Bergcarls but looks like a fair few investors may be thinking the same, even I'm starting to wonder this morning as wasn't expecting to see the SP slip back like it has; not massive but worrying nonetheless.
Would the 'dark pools' theory explain why so many buys show as 'unknown trades'? Guess that makes sense.
I said recently this could become self-defeating re. SP, hoping I was wrong.
I think this will still rise but also like I said before it's a case of 2 steps forward 1 step back all the time, sadly I have no evidence to back this up just what I see before me re. trading activity and what DBay/LDG have set out to achieve.
I'll hold for now, watch & wait a little longer, hopefully not too long and end up back at 13p!!
Good luck to you.
I agree with your post though!!
Looks like you have become one of those people 'selling cheap' as per your 14th March Post Bergcals!
Im out
I think a lot of these multi million share deals are been done away from the stock exchange in dark pools, then reported later at around mid price so not to move the sp.
Will never go up if this is happening
Good news if you are holding long term but bad if you are looking to make a bit on the share buy back.
Feel a bit cheated i am not going to get fair value for my shares. Would hold but no trust in company now
Sold half my holding yesterday. Below fair value but having gone all in wanted to hedge my bets. Still retain an uncomfortably large holding
So, they managed to buyback a further 12,020,555 shares yesterday and the total now is 64,238,347, just under 46% of target.
We will have to see what effect that has today but after recent gains this looks to be struggling a bit.
Hopefully just a wobble on the way to 19p!
The Caretech (CTH) investment is looking very promising indeed up 10% from where LDG brought in.
Definitely watching with eagle eyes that’s a tasty profit already and depending on when the deal went through there could be a future dividends from the CTH as well
No, I don't think your logic is too far out! I'm certainly no expert (not even close!!) but that makes perfect sense to me. Personally I'm hoping for 20p but TBH if it gets over 18p I'll start considering my options.
I should think DBay/LDG/Investec would already have factored in the rising SP scenario though so I don't think we need to worry they might stop the buyback because the SP gets a bit cheeky!
Onwards and.... hopefully.... upwards.
Little do I know but it would seem logical that those that remain as holders are doing so with a 'sell figure' that has not yet been hit. Surely this means that the more they buyback the higher price they will need to pay.
Starting to question my logic though and maybe I am missing something!!
...... the SP has slipped back again!
A lot of trades today including some BIG volumes that are likely buybacks, but a lot of sells dragging the SP back down again.
Frustrating!
I guess this could become self-defeating to some extent - the more shares they buyback, the higher the SP tries to rise, the more some investors will choose to exit 'at a fair price' and so drag the SP back again?
Let's see what tomorrow brings.
Lots of 'unknown trades' today @ 16p, my guess would be Investec mopping up a good 11M shares so far today.
Tomorrow's RNS will confirm if this is correct.
SP could do with a nudge upwards, seems to have got stuck!
A further 3,750,000 shares bought back yesterday, total now 52,217,792, about 37.3% of target.
Couldn't agree more. Looking fairly positive.
