Something weird happening on LSE, only fragments of my message is getting posted.
The irony is KAV set out to do bulk mining
Surprised the market hasn't reacted to this announcement. What’s good to see is KAV focussing on value creation & prioritisation both in KCB & now Hillside Prospect 2 where I’d forgotten just how good the grades were, 10g/t 35-60m below surface looks encouraging & the latest drills should expand area by a minimum 160m width. The irony is KAV set out to do bulk mining
I’d forgotten how good the prospect 2 results were, latest drills should expand the core area. I know the strategy is/was bulk mining which is
Progress is being made. . ..

Really ? There have been plenty of updates ! Have you not seen the Twitter posts.
Geological risks aside, the prizes are very subtantial:
Khoemacau Copper-Silver Project: Developed by Cupric Canyon, this world-class project boasts a combined sulphide resource of 502 million tonnes (Mt) with 1.4% copper (Cu) and 17 grams per tonne (g/t) silver (Ag). Notably, it includes 185 Mt with 2.0% Cu and 27 g/t Ag.
Sandfire Resources T3 Deposit: Located in the KCB, the T3 deposit contains 36.0 Mt with 1.14% Cu and 12.8 g/t Ag. An optimized feasibility study is currently underway.
A4 Dome Prospect: Sandfire Resources also discovered exceptional drill intercepts at the A4 Dome, including 7.15 meters with 16.0% Cu and 222.0 g/t Ag, as well as 12.40 meters with 13.3% Cu and 232.8 g/t Ag1.
The two main mines account for 8Mt of copper resources.
Always very cautious when CEOs use phrases such as “transformational for shareholders “ -often leads to disappointment
BTs been very quiet on presentations recently since the last cash raise.
Drilling is now underway. If we hit decent copper on any one of these 15 planned holes, it will be transformational. With drilling also taking place in Zim, I'd say the odds of getting some share price lifting news are stacked heavily on our favour. GLA
“ Our immediate objective now is to test these probable trap sites and prove that copper mineralising fluids passed through our ground. If we can achieve this it will be a transformational event for Kavango's shareholders.”
This is no understatement.
Another brilliant update ! Let’s GO !
Bring it on KAV!

It is certainly a big area and KAV have a lot of ground, but I understand that AIM listed ARC have drilled in the KCB and hit copper mineralisation, using some of same geological modelling as KAV are now using. We have the added plus of having DC leading the exploration. So I remain very hopeful that KAV will hit some copper in the dozen or so holes they are drilling as part of this campaign. I'll be adding on this pullback, because I do really believe we have a company defining second half of the year coming up, on both the gold and the copper projects. With the amount of work that is planned, I am confident that there will be some share price boosting results delivered during this period. But let's see and GLA
KAV will operate one rig initially probably for next 6 weeks. The first drill will likely be ‘geological’ meaning calibration with the geophysics and finding the mineralisation zone. Its shallow & should be straight forwards but PL082 campaign was anything but simple, so interesting to hear why/how Karakubis will be different. A single drill should take 10-14 days providing ground conditions are ok. Costs are c$300/m.
Its unclear at this point if/how Turney will report results, KAV use p-XRF & pretty much know in real time what they’ve found. I’m sceptical of companies showing odd core photos on twitter unless they show several boxes worth of obvious mineralisation. Typically, cores are not sent for assay until after the campaign & lead time is 2-3 months.
Pure guesswork, I think KAV will drill a few targets, evaluate & then decide on second drill rig. If drilling appears very slow or they stick with a single rig it potentially indicates issues. The second rig is probably the best indicator.
In terms of shareholder value, Karakubis is a factor 5 times more important than all the Zim stuff in the short term. KAV is looking for a mineralised regional sized system which would be incredibly valuable with at least 3 majors interested, it would require extensive drilling but could be worth 6-10p/share as an early stage project.
I read somewhere they've found 8Mt of copper reserves across a 1000km of the KCB, its a big place & nothing is guaranteed.
With the Rig arrival, it means we will likely get a KCB drilling RNS next week. Therefore, good time to add, because drilling for gold and copper will likely mean that a positive drill results RNS could land any time in the coming months. GLA
JP2000 - well written and very valid points made in your post.
Legalwolf - JVs with the likes of Sandfire have been mooted off an on since day 1 but nothing has come to pass.
I just can't see the Kansagras giving away equity in a major discovery when they can go the other way given their liquidity.
I've also noted a recent thread has been pulled in its entirety. Very poor form. Time for me to let these go into the next rise and bid you all good tidings.
What would be wrong with a JV with Sandfire? KAV have huge ground at the KCB with a number of prospects, and so bringing in Sandfire, with their local expertise and money would be a great move. It also frees KAV up to focus on Zim. Share price would rocket on such news imo.
Re KCB drilling: I'm slightly perplexed what is actually going on. ENRG discovered 3 domes but when translated onto KAV's latest data, its now 2 or 3 priority targets on just one of their domes(Karakubis) within that licence area. There seems to be additional priority targets identified by KAV. My reading of KAV's RNS is they're going for the shallow domes c200m for the first phase, five priority targets in total. Initially KAV will use one drill rig in the first 6 weeks which is very much proof of concept. RNS talks about looking for pathfinder elements but pretty much every drill finds pathfinders including old ENRG drills. I hope the language toughens up to say they're really targeting commercial mineralisation in those shallow washout traps. The WIP geophysics looking at resistivity & chargeability are very similar to that used at Hillside (Zim), remember KAV drilled first and did the IP afterwards. BT hasn't explained why they're doing this now and not six months ago, in theory it should allow KAV to pinpoint mineralisation in high resolution so it clearly needs running before the drill turns. On timings, ENRG have run similar IP and it took 2.5 months from start to final RNS so is even 30th June drill date realistic? Happy to be wrong but I think drilling is going to slip into July. PWB's buy was a great signal but it wouldn't be allowed if KAV was sitting on actual or near term price sensitive data. KAV has said the last RNS was aimed at a technical audience in large companies, its just nonsense to "lay a breadcrumb trail" when those companies are well aware of events, they'll want to see actual core & how that aligns to the geophysics. It was odd that BT didn't give presentations after the last RNS & not getting any sense he wants to talk about drilling. Its been this way since Jan/Feb with the start dates getting pushed out each time. I really hope KAV is not waiting on Sandfire to agree a JV prior to drilling.
I've joined him and have been adding into this pullback. Wanted to get in before KCB drilling starts later this month. We will then have 3 Rigs on the ground, 2 at the KCB and one in Zim. Could be the best 3-6 months that KAV have ever had in terms of newsflow and results on the ground. I certainly hope so. GLA
Seems extraordinary that a guy in his early 70's with a genuine track record comes along & actively invests £750k. He's on the inside, been on the ground & is part of the negotiating team for new deals. As people have said, he doesn't need the money but he's got to be targeting £10-20m return. Another aspect is dilution, you know BT wouldn't give a xxxx because he'd find 100 other ways to enrich himself, but PWB holds equity in 0.8-1.5p range so he has to further invest or face dilution. I wonder if the strategy is to make Zim exploration self funding via Nara Tailings & Hillside to limit dilution. Lets hope PWB's strategy aligns with private investors.

He knows what's coming down the line here. That is some serious backing from him.
I like the way BT has put the investment case here, and thought much the same. You have the upside from the gold, which looks almost inevitable to happen (only how much gold being the question) and then the turbo booster event which would be hitting some copper on this upcoming drill as well.
Not too many sure things in the markets, but KAV has to be a high probability bet to be well north of here by the time the year is out, whether it's the gold that takes it up, or the copper, or hopefully, both commodities. All imo and dyor
Have you hear anything about Hillside prospect 1, two drills were completed & you'd think being called Prospect 1 they'd have drilled first but not heard a thing?
