Gray, Edzi, Kalan,
Thank you all for some very helpful posts. There is something illogical in those who bemoan why we are not higher but lambast those who point out why that might be.
I have a significant shareholding here and am pondering more. Your musings make me more likely to buy more not less because they hypothesis as to why our share price is not higher and I can then decide whether despite that I still want to buy. Those posting along the lines of £1 tomorrow are not so helpful in my decision making.
Best wishes,
Prof
Actually gotreal thought you would have corrected me with the delay I got that wrong. There was a 9 week delay then a 6 week delay and now a further 6 week delay so 21 weeks altogether waiting for an electrical component and you wonder why I am cautious about copper 5 months waiting for an electrical component that is poor by any standard.
I suppose that is my fault as well because what you don't know is I have it hidden at my house and I am holding JLP to ransom £1 million or they never see the chipboard again oops can't say that as they haven't seen it at all yet.
You have got to have a joke in life gotreal and not take a different opinion as a personal attack. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
Nothing is certain gotreal only death and taxes. I want to see numbers materialize and until they do I am perfectly entitled to say maybe particularly with all the previous copper false dawns and 4k copper is not the 25k we should be at now as originally planned.
I will be just as happy as you if and when we hit 1k per month but we haven't yet and we are already 2 months behind that schedule.
gotreal
the honest reply is that copper is still crap as far as the amount of tons being produced, it was stated that they would produce about 5500 tons of copper by the end of this f/y and they will only produce about 4000 tons if we are lucky.
the copper story is about 2 years late, we are producing about 4000 tons to date. in the scheme of things that is not very good compared to where we should be. that is where the business model has changed and i am glad that it has.
now crap may be the wrong word but it certainly won't be enough for investors to flock in and raise the sp.
once the new roan project can prove itself to work which i have no doubt about, and we start to prove that we can process 1000 tons per month and once the slow horses work out in their minds that if jlp are going to get 4/5/6/7 or 10 modules up and running in the next 12 months which could produce a very exciting amount of copper that seems to be going up and up in price then pg people will consider investing. we because we know the story and we live in hope or almost believe what leon has said over the last 4-5 years are already sold on the company. others are not, yet !!
we all hope that this will change as does slater and others. however like the recent delays regarding the electronics, there will be other **** ups. just look at hzm or hum or goldstone or pathfinder or many others that over sold and under delivered.. a lot of people need proof of concept before they go in, even kalan who has some very good points to make is very conservative where he puts his money and he is happy to get in a bit late as long as there is proof. you like me are just bloody frustrated that it has taken so long and you don't want anyone putting you off your beliefs, which is fully understandable,
Edzi, so you agree with the statment and how it is worded..... "copper still crap.... maybe it will turn around.... " MAYBE it will turn around.... If you hope that a business plan goes in a straight line with no hiccoughs given the region in which we operate then I am afraid you are destined always to be disappointed.
>>Gray1 , I am significantly invested here and will always challenge posters who appear to misrepresent reality, for whatever reason. By your "maybe" you think there is a very real possibility that the copper operation will fail, despite the due diligence of IRH and the thousands of tonnes that have already been produced, then, and that producing 4,000t of copper this year is really "crap" given that in a few weeks weeks there will be over a thousand tonnes /mth?
Thanks for your support Edzi. I was beginning to wonder if I had ventured into an alternate universe.
No animosity to you gotreal. Like you I want the company to do well we will just have to agree to disagree sometimes.
Gotreal
I've just read your last post. always look for motive, you must be paranoid. Other than wanting the SP to be higher what is your motive other than trying to annoy anyone who doesn't think like you. Stop being childish your getting as bad a BT
hi all
gray1 is perfectly correct about everything he says as far as i am concerned. gotreal, you have to accept that other people have different opinions to you but are going for the same goal. you do get very defensive and actually quite rude to people who don't see things your way which is totally unacceptable if you were around a board room table.
it is completely understandable that leon has changed direction because of the business plan that he had, he has said this and even apologised. it is a fact that because of this the way the jlp are now going about their business is one of the main reasons why irh got involved with them. this (although highly frustrating because of the delays) is why the zambian business is like the chrome business which was also in it's infancy at one point. it is also the reason why some people including myself find it difficult trusting the company because i among others hope that the business plan goes in a straight line, make a unit for roan buy some of the shelf electronics get them delivered by plane bolt them together and were away with the fairies producing 100,000 tons of copper in the first month and the share price goes to £1.00.
if it was that straight forward i would be doing it in my garden. leon has his faults like everyone does, the new fd has started to make his move on cleaning up comms. and there will be lots more bumps in the road. so gotreal accept that the original copper strategy failed like leon said and the new one will be up and running very soon and the tailings have sensibly been put on the back burner whilst the company improves it's cash position and technical position to move it forward. please stop ****ging people off because you don't get your own way.and by the way, i hold several million shares in jlp and i want it to get to £2.00 next week but i am also honest about the way business and the company makes mistakes and more importantly correct them
I have no motive. If JLPs copper strategy had been successful over the last 2 years do you think the share price would have dropped from 21p to 5p now back to 7p. That wasn't my fault. Whose fault do you think it was?
Very odd that someone would hold a portfolio of shares and only ever comment on one of them .... "copper still crap.... maybe it will turn around.... " Hahaha ..... I always look for motive.... :)
I don't come on often usually when we have an RNS and there is something to comment about. Thought the Chrome was interesting and an improvement copper still crap but once it gets going maybe that will all turnaround.
You need to see someone about the paranoid gotreal I am in no position to determine JLP's future only they can do that. I just don't accept your view that everything is all hunky dory at JLP. Business isn't like that. Don't worry I will go back into my shell so you can command the board with your everything is good nothing to see here attitude.
I have noticed with you gotreal if anyone says anything negative about JLP they have an agenda. I want JLP to be successful it makes me money and that is why we are all here doesn't mean I have to accept everything has gone to plan at JLP it clearly hasn't with Copper.
You're certainly very voluble in the last days... I wonder why?
Not negative just realistic. I do hold other shares but that is personal to me and none of your business. The previous copper strategy failed gotreal you need to accept it I have . So have JLP they have moved onto modules away from the tailings maybe they will come back to it and with a higher copper price maybe it becomes more attractive.
I have been positive about chrome and pgms I am not negative about everything they do just have got roes tinted specs on like you.
They haven't failed.... Reading back on your pages of posts, that are on only on JLP, you hold no other shares (?), your negative theme is rather obvious....
That should be 25k tons of copper although 25 tons of copper is closer to the actual copper production.
It maybe viable gotreal but JLP haven't managed it yet certainly not in the quantities they originally claimed when this all started out otherwise we would be on 25 tons of Copper a year by now. Sometimes you have to accept failure it looks like JLP have and have moved onto copper modules.
I am not making an assumption it didn't work. They had plenty of time trying to extract copper in decent commercial quantities and they couldn't do it just look at how much they have produced over the last 2 years hardly any that says to me it didn't work certainly not as they expected yes they made a little bit of money on it.
They have since changed direction fair enough. I don't expect updates every five minutes. Draslovka has been months without anything said hardly 5 minutes.
And we know traditional acid leaching of tailings IS viable because CAML do it very successfully at low cost. What people THINK and what is fact are two very different things ......
Gray1, you’re making an assumption that the tailings weren’t commercially viable. There’s no proof of that. The fact is Glyleach is a pretty new process which is being trialled by many companies. It’s cheaper than using purely acid leaching, more selective in what it leaches, recyclable and better for the environment. If a new product came onto the market with those advantages, for a company like Jubilee, which is pushing ESG as part of its foundations, they would be mad NOT to trial it in my view.
Just because they don’t update shareholders on progress every five minutes it doesn’t mean things aren’t happening.
Hello again. Thank you for the kind words Kalan.
Mikie this is where I disagree with you. I think the tailings weren't commercially viable that is why JLP changed direction to the module process and also involved Draslovka in improving the recovery and cost of recovery for the tailings.
Nothing wrong with either strategy it is what company's do when faced with problems.
There is also nothing wrong with the module process for copper now being the main focus what I take issue with is what decisions have been taken with the tailings process from the Draslovka findings and how will this be taken forward or not at all. They simply don't tell us and that isn't good enough.
What they fail to realise is everything good or bad comes out in the end so if it is bad report it. Report what you are doing about it so you look in control and get ahead of the bad news.
What projects have been brushed under the carpet?
I agree also, we have to hold the board to account for projects that get brushed under the carpet
Excellent thought provoking points Gray1 - really stimulated the arguments. Even got Mikie to say that cash flow is limited.
Folks are always wondering why the share is undervalued, Gray1 proposed several reasons in his well thought through posts. The short term obstacles infuriatingly get in the way of the medium to long term rewards - been like it for a few months now. One day rodders.
Think you might be the first, lol!
