Have a good weekend all
Speedy_Gonzalez ref 17.13 post you have to remember that this is a devolved matter so it is a decision for the NI Executive when they finish squabbling amongst themselves.
Perhaps a perfect storm is brewing........
1. Record gas prices.
2. Limited gas storage levels.
3. Russia supply problems (see link).
All we need now is a very cold and long winter......
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-09-03/russia-has-a-gas-problem-nearly-the-size-of-exports-to-europe
You could be right Stokey (17.01). There were just over 110 delegates who signed up and watched the webinar (almost 1 hr webinar).
As the webinar wasn't free (it was a minimum £30 inc vat to register for the webinar), i imagine it was only therefore folk who had some sort of interest in H&W or Infrastrata or were prepared to pay a fee to watch it, and not simply viewers with time on there hands to watch a free video about big cranes and wurley windmills.
It's only reasonable to assume some of these delegates purchased shares after watching it if they liked what they seen. I purchased a few grand more myself earlier today too.
Chitta123 ref 16.06 post While not discounting the possibility that the ML decision may have a part to play in the recent rise in volume I note that the SP started to go up mid morning yesterday. This ties in with the end of the presentation yesterday so the presentation probably also has something to do with it.
Nobby. Let's hope the buffoons running the show read this and finally decide it's time for IM to proceed........
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/a-488-million-toe-global-opportunity-for-natural-gas-storage-by-2026---new-research-from-strategyr-301368956.html
Really hope you’re right Chitta, but seems to be a view that it’s now linked to the Northern Ireland Energy strategy which I believe isn’t going to be published until year end
Personally Stokey.question I believe the volume is related to the granting of the ML.The volume is not pick buying but rather than forward selling of a placing (which is still a possibility)I believe it is a movement of shares .Killik could well have secured shares with a view to be transferred to a client who may well be some large entity lined up to take a majority stake in the gas storage project.I wouldn't be too surprised to see the ML granted before month end.
Nobby31. Your comments on security of supply and wholesale gas and power prices being through the roof, i would totally agree with.
You also mention Islandmagee and and the ML.
Can i ask your thoughts please on what you feel the possible outcomes on IM might be ?
I previously detailed here that IM has a monetary asset value to Infa. As i see it , the value of this asset is dependent whether :-
1. A full ML is granted with absolutely no conditions (unlikely though).
2. A ML granted but with conditions (ie a longer pipe out, 2 pipes required, slower discharge rates, etc)
3. If a ML is declined and Infa back to the drawing board with maybe a Hydrogen storage application).
4. Alternatively if a ML is declined and Infa sell on the 'project' to a bigger outfit with deeper pockets and a legal team capable of kicking DAERA and NI ministers' ass-s, what might the asset possibly be worth ? Could it be worth more as the need for storage is increasing ? Could it be worth anywhere near 15M that it's cost to date or am i thinking nonsense with so many zeros ? (15M being pocket change to the big hitters).
Or with the apparent incompetence and dilly dallying of the NI politicians to come to a decision on this ML do you see IM having and value or future at all ?
https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/news/belfast-news/sse-airtricity-gas-prices-go-21474497
“These sustained increases are compounded by short supply and robust demand on global markets. Gas storage levels are also severely reduced, almost 30% lower than the same point in 2019 and 2020. All of this combines to put upward pressure on costs which must be reflected in our price change.
Chitta123 ref 14.58 post I do not think it is one thing I suspect that it is a combination of things that has caused a change of sentiment. In the last couple of weeks you have the news about the tender for the dry docking of the Queen Elizabeth Class of Carrier and the news that Team Resolute has been awarded a contract t work up a bid for the FSS Tender. As these are significant MoD tenders the fact that INFA has been invited to tender would give confidence in the company. There was also the presentation yesterday to the EIC which would have generated some interest.
OK thanks for that Nobby
I believe that to be the main reason. I hope it drives away the shorter but it will take the ML approval to do that imho
and I hope whoever they are they get hung out to dry (& fry)
So volume linked to the gas storage caverns Nobby?interesting.
So volume linked to the gas storage caverns Nobby?interesting.
So volume linked to the gas storage caverns Nobby?
Read front page of the FT for the answer.
We are short of gas and short of gas storage. This winter could be interesting re security of supply and wholesale gas and power prices which are through the roof.
If the buffoons that “run the show” had consented this about 3 years ago it would be operational now; significantly reducing volatility
Why the sudden increase in volume lottie?
Could not resist buying a few more. The reason??? My trading platform went to 0.8p spread. As I have stated before, the tight spread, or touch, over several months, has been indicative of an ongoing, large seller. Maybe, just maybe, I thought this widening might indicate supply is weakening. Time will tell.
Also it's encouraging that JW mentions discussion on island magee which was largely ignored over the last 12 months.
If this was normal trading the sp would have moved more than the small rise we have had .Market makers don't give shares away ,they want a profit so as I alluded to earlier a forward sold placing or a movement of shares from one large holder to another.Maybe killik pick up a percentage of over 10% to secure for another entity once needed.intriguing.
Just seen this analysis from Defence News which is not just a rehash of the MoD announcement https://www.defensenews.com/global/europe/2021/09/01/four-industry-teams-gird-for-british-support-ship-competition/.
The last sentence reads ' We are in negotiations for various projects across our core markets that will bring this to fruition in the near future.'
