Thanks for the clarification Stokey.........perfectly clear now.......you don't work for INFA.
Thanks for the earlier post & detailed below are the actual wordings of the statement & I note that the fact that they have been working over the weekend suggests some urgency - a contract soon ?????

Speedy_Gonzalez In relation to your 18.47 post I meant to say that I am not employed by INFA the reference to Miss Shah related to something else.
If the volume continues this week it could get very interesting ....
Seena.....oops, no! Stokey. Yes INFA now have "four sites to fabricate the jackets", meaning four times the overhead and the requirement for four times the contract value. It woud be nice to see just ONE "nice contract"......
Lottie. Because of your invaluable input here I thought I'd try to answer. I'm no tunnel expert but from what information is currently available, with the Stranraer - Larne route, it would seem to intersect the general area of the planned brine outfall, not the proposed gas caverns. So I can't see any conflict. BUT perhaps a great benefit if the tunnel could include the twinning of the SNIP. Let's all hope they drill the borehole very quietly so as not to disturb/alarm the porpoise, crustaceans and accompanying local protestors!
22nd Feb update on way out will In my opinion be the start of the UK Drive ahead, and the EU are doing everything they can to stop it. Tough Titty!
Stokey. It's interesting that you're not Miss Shah but that wasn't my question?
The way I see it there are huge infrastructure projects happening of our coastline. The government has explicitly stated that all projects need to have a local/national component. Right time and right place...hence me taking a stake here.
Speedy_Gonzalez In relation to your 18.25 No I am not @seena_shah could not afford the merlot.
Stokey. Nice update. Don't take this the wrong way but are you on the payroll?
JW did mention work coming in the recent VOX podcast. I doubt it will be major news though......
I wouldn't have Speedy!
Definitely feel misled as far as IM concerned
Just seen this tweet https://twitter.com/Harland_Wolff1/status/1360984930277330948 looks like Appledore should be ready to start operations this month only a month later than planned.
Spud, Whatamess. I wonder if any of us LTHs would have invested if they knew Islandmagee would be so problematic and delayed, let alone sidetracked by H&W?! There has never bee any major news here that propelled SP to £1! The last "false rally" was just based on hype, not contracts! Next few months will be pivotal I believe......
Any major piece of news will send sp to a quid, even you buying back could ;0)))
Anyonr including institutional investors buying infa over the last year have been buying for Harlands and the potential there (imo)
Most won't even know or care about the gas storage project (again imo)
Whatamess. What will we think if the ML deadline passes with no news?
Point well made Stokey. I bow to your superior knowledge on the subject. Wouldn't it be great if, now that we've Brexited, the govt could insist on 100% local fabrication?
Oops........819 miles, 3 years to build!
Tango. While I won't disagree with your points on location and SNP, I cannot see how INFA can provide "mammoth cost savings and leadtimes" compared to foreign state subsidised competition (China). Having lived and worked there for 17 years, Chinas ability to "get things done" quickly, efficiently and cheaply is second to none. Take the Beijing to Shanghai high speed trainline - 819miles, years to build!
Speedy_Gonzalez In relation to your 16.18 post the capital cost of the windfarms are such that it is unlikely that they will be built without some for form of subsidy. In the UK for windfarms the main form of subsidy will be the CfD Auction Round 4 which will set the price that would be paid for the electricity produced. This income would fund the payments for the loans for the capital expenditure and generate the profits you mention. From statements made by HMG one of the conditions for payments under the CfD round is local content. Therefore in order to sell the electricity produced into the grid they would have to use local content.
Apart from the NnG project four licenses were awarded to build offshore windfarms around the UK waters and Crown Estate Scotland will be soon launching an auction for further licenses so there is likely to be more than enough work for INFA to bid for.
Thanks Tango1, As I said earlier, I expect contracts are imminent, as INFA do not have the funds to keep BiFad running, even with a skeleton workforce, the recent fundraise is stacking up, as one would assume that negotiations re BiFad were already underway at that time. If so GREAT deal.
Stokey. These huge windfarm projects are the domain of multi nationals. Their primary objective is profit/ shareholder value. Government incentives and local location trail behind costs. If the reverse were true then all fabrication would be "local". If INFA can pull a rabbit out of the hat in Scotland I'll be he first to applaud, but for the moment all I can see is increased overhead and losses. I hope the SP doesn't follow!
Forgive my ignorance but if the proposed tunnel between Scotland and N Ireland is to come ashore at Larne, will it put paid to the IM project or are they geographically a long way apart???
Maybe this tunnel has been the reason for the ML delay.
Again, forgive my lack of local knowledge but I know you guys will know.
Speedy_Gonzalez In relation to your 14.40 post if any company wants government assistance from the UK government such assistance is likely to be subject to a requirement for a significant amount of local content. So INFA would have the advantage of being able to use any of the four sites to fabricate the jackets. In addition they would have the advantage of being nearer to the North Sea so the cost of delivering the jackets would be lower. In any case even if INFA was to build the remaining 30 jackets that still be a contract worth circa £60m so is not something to sniff at.
