Yes I see where you are coming from.
1 - There are no BA flights based on random 1 hr watching flight tracker or flght radar 24
Ah - there are actually BA flights. Approx 1 arriving every 7 minutes and one departing every 6 minutes over an 18hr period at Heathrow.
2 - I'll counter that with an article in the Telegraph dated 23rd May 2016 based on supposition and guessing to show that the flights are not profitable.
Quote from the article
"Wendover Productions admits that the figures are “rough estimates”, and are open to interpretation. “Many of these prices will vary widely over time, and there are certainly ways that airlines reduce these costs.”
Give it a rest ffs
Maybe the earlier BA flight to Grand Cayman had the Board of Directors on it!
interesting reading on cost and profit from a flight https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travel-truths/what-airlines-really-spend-your-airfare-money-on/ you see where im coming from

It's not that you are expressing an opinion only that Treacle has a point, you are expressing an opinion without backing that opinion with solid evidence. You going on flight radar is not solid evidence by any stretch of the imagination! Today BA have circa 300 flights planned, Traditionally LH flights depart later in the day so they land at the optimum time at their destination. for example. tonights Cape town leaves at 21.40 tonight at a similar time to many other BA LH flights. The general exception to this is JFK, and the middle east where there are many flights that depart throughout the day. lastly, there are also differences on flight schedules week day and week ends... So feel free to espouse an opinion but to do so in a manner which is so stupid leaves you open to criticism from other and trying to defend that position makes you look even more silly like many people on here have found to their financial cost! I say cost bc if that is the evidence you are using to buy and sell shares you won't make much money and your odds are no better than 50/50 and flipping a coin. Some days you might call it right but not bc YDOR but by luck....
Treacle24 @ whats up does the truth hurt or are you a person that just wants to hear good news , i can put what i like on hear my views are based on fact not fiction . Im waiting to invest in IAG but NOT at the moment and will be investing long term as i see this a barging buy In my opinion which i am democratically allowed to do is that this SP will drop . You can believe the snippets on hear i dont care i just believe in facts and BA are loosing money hand over fist I will wait till the sp OFFER price is on the market and we will see
Marab - even if I believed you on BA, you're not giving me much insight into the rest of the portfolio ( Iberia, Vueling or Aer Lingus). What about the operating margin on each flight, is that also down, or has that increased as they max out capacity on the reduced flight schedule? Not seeing anything in your argument about cost management either. In fact all I am seeing is a throw away statement with zero substantiation.
Yes these are troubled times for the aviation industry, but if you are going to comment please back it up with something decent.
Looks like another idiot needs to be put on the filter list - Mararab according to your profile you only joined LSE in July (well under this name anyway) and the only company you post on is IAG and they're all negative comments - one example of which from yesterday was something like countries around the world wouldn't put their populations at risk by allowing quarantine free travel - looks like they're co-ordinating their efforts to me and gradually introducing the very same thing.
Do you honestly think that people are so naive to listen to any of the rubbish you're posting? Anyway I won't be reading any more because you've been filtered along with the other idiots. I would suggest "genuine" investors do the same.
Chuggernaught : Ba running at 25% capacity thats the main fact bud !
The business class on European flights is flexible, so they can have as many rows of it as they need, I went to Faro once with 12 rows of club Europe in an A320.
It still has a fair way to go but for what it’s worth there’s around 300 BA flights departing Heathrow today.
Incidentally I’m with you that they won’t be making money for a while, my guess is the first profitable quarter will be Q3 2021 with Q2 probably being close to breakeven. The ball game for now is minimising losses and carrying a surplus of crew and aircraft for when the demand picks up.
Marab: "there are not enough BA flights at the moment to make a profit or breakeven"
Please can you share your calculations with the board to so they can make a measured assessment of your statement please.....
What i am saying there are not enough BA flights at the moment to make a profit or breakeven , if you dont make profit and sp offer is not subscribed to its full allocation how can the share price go up in its current climate . Once the sp offer is open to sell this will be the main factor if it drops to 50-60p im in for the long haul if im wrong ill move down south !!!
Mararab, not sure why you post get real.
Why go on flight racket for an hour rather than just check Heathrow T5 arrivals which would show all flights for the whole day as opposed to an hour snapshot l. Also, all UK /‘European flights typically have 9/10 rows of Business Class. I was on a flight on Friday and Sunday and the plane was full to the extent that BA emailed passengers offering to check in hand luggage free of charge due to the flight being extremely busy.
I’m not unaware of the challenges facing IAG in the coming months, they will be significant
only looking at he facts at a particular time bud that's not scaremongering that's fact get real
Suggest you take a look now - flights just departed in the last two minutes to Grand Cayman and New York with other flights scheduled for later today.
“I was at a loose end........” Stop scaremongering.
I was at a loose end so i went on Flight tracker to see who and what was flying out of HR and was shocked so little flights and what really disturbed me was the non existence of BA long-haul flights , there were none in a hours monitoring . I i only found 3 BA call sign flights which were all European flights coming and going from HR and probably not full and no capacity for business class . I am really concerned This company may be in more trouble than we think , if there only have 3 flights in a hour surly the income is basically 0 , how long can they go on for . i know it will recover but until a global alliance in coronavirus policy is brought fwd. i can not see any share price increase until may 2021
