Mararab - genuine question, yours posts are disproportionately negative reading your history. I am all for a balanced argument of which there is scope for both. Sp may indeed Tank, however I become suspicious when individuals only post negative opinions or jump on vague articles and try to promote them..
I’m no ramper I’ve clearly said it could go to £2 or £1 my average is close to £2, I’m very upfront, no BS… however I think your posts should reflect the overall picture rather than just negativity… only my humble opinion, filter me or disregard no offence taken either way just looking for balanced views
Istabrraq hi bud thanks for the news on usa looks like it may drop now to 150 instead of this speculative little rise , i think BA has had it for this year with usa flights
sundezena any stats on passenger per flight on BA dont give a crap about easy
Sundezena, I do apologise - I was looking at the wrong data, I was looking at flightracker which I’m assuming most of been a snapshot of time. I was trying to find 24hr traffic, I’ll check out your link
Cheers pal
sorry, inferno i meant to say 600 for ba according to ba.com. DYOR.
inferno, ezj had 1200 flights on friday..ba had just shy of 300...dyor.
Sundezena easyJet had 120 flights not 1200 flights, BA is averaging about 80-90 this weekend but that includes long haul. Once us opens it will increase massively with NY and LA flying 4 times daily Instead of the current 1
let's hope a few more rises and then on results day another 5-10% and we are done...can't wait...EZJ had 1200 flights the other day, in just 1 day (according to an article)..can you imagine how many IAG must have had?? looking forward to going back above £2.00...shouldn't take long now. happy with my JET2 shares too. DYOR.
On more rise like today and it will bring my IAG and Easyjet back in profit. Keep them coming!
Some people on here will be upset by the rise...oh well...we knew it was coming...and the bad news for these people is that this share will carry on going up...if they only knew the passengers carried by airlines these days!!!!..and there will be more to come...summer is here for another 2 months and we are going in the right direction now..GLA and DYOR.
Great to see a rise today, pockets of internet signal in Skye, was good to see some blue trend.
Hope the rise is cheering ppl up combined with the heat wave. Have a nice day folks.
Just filter me if you don't want to know what my input is. A bb is an open discussion of things related to and that may affect the topic of the board, i.e. IAG. You may not wish to acknowledge the wider 360 real world events that do impact the company directly. You only want to hear people posting positive stroking messages about how the sp is always going up and everything is just fine. The real world ain't like that. Now, YOU do us all a favour and filter me rather posting cheap snide remarks to get cheap claps from the audience with thumbs up. Incidently, I always add to the thumbs up of people who object to me posting. Have another for ego.
Johnbri, today's up day is probably due to the sheer number of people travelling..Look at EZJ passengers at the weekend to give u an idea..also other reports on the news about scrapping quarantine with 333 countries and letting expats travel back to the uk without quarantine. DYOR.
Man how many more times are we going to be subjected to the utter garbage posted by the clown chairman big-blue. He has three topics, masks, cabinet reshuffle and Gove must go. He is not invested here and and only posts here. It takes some special kind of clown to do that 10 times a day including weekends.
Today’s up is down to Ryanair and less than punishing results.
Mararab
al i can say august is a summer
I saw this report of lesson passengers than 2020, I just cant believe that at the HEIGHT of a pandemic there were MORE people travelling. I traveled a few times last August and September and Heathrow had maybe 200-300 people in it (flying to Europe). Surely thats a mistake
Heathrow warns of further fall in passenger numbers intereting reading less passenger forecast than 2020

I did a mask wearing analysis over the end of last week and the weekend in various shopping areas and retail outlets. The week day shopper is much less likely to bother with the mask, with DIY and household stores having around 50% wearing. The supermarkets have a a little bit more wearers on the weekday. There was a higher level of wearers on the weekend in the supermarket, like 80% in an Aldi store, and a bit higher in the household stores. I was not challenged at any entrance, or within any store and didn't see anybody not wearing being challenged at all. One thing of note, a lot of shop staff had ditched the mask! Where policy boards were on display there was reference to 'personal choice for customers and staff' in most locations. Given the unions were one of the more vocal pro-mask lobby groups I found that interesting.
From this it can be concluded that the intense mask wearing lobby with the support of mass media has managed to spook/fool a fair number of people in to believing that they are making a positive benefit.
What this means for case numbers? The current decline in reported cases is most likely due to the drop in testing with the kids of school now. The masks came off a section of the population a week ago so it is still about a week before the effects will show through. Factor in the extent to which different mechanisms can spread the virus, aerosol v contaminated mask/surfaces, I will expect to see a rise back to the levels before the schools broke up [and testing volume decline] and then a decline. The rate of decrease will be slow if the same rate of mask wearing continues. But the rate of decrease will gradually get larger and larger. There will be spikes in isolated areas, some might be significant, with a probability of sudden very local lockdowns in some wards. This will continue whilst some mask wearers continue as super spreaders in shops. Spreading in pubs and restaurants will be very low as most people abandon the mask in these zones, however these zones will be the first to shut down.
At some point the truth about the masks themselves being the spreaders of infection will have to be put into public discussion. The correlation all around the planet shows conclusively the spread within mask wearing areas is the same or indeed worse compared to no wearing areas.
For the full reopening of international travel due to falling cases numbers to happen, the masks have to go. A return to normal travel will be within a matter of 3-4 weeks if the masks were banned tomorrow - the first ban inside airports and aircraft.
So when you hear the first public reference to what I have been arguing for the some time now, it may well be the first signal the end of the pandemic and travel restrictions is over. On that you should use your 360 perspective to make your own informed decision on whether to invest or not in travel related stocks. Investing should never be made on emotional decisions.
It will be slow rise from now on with drops here and there as slowly and slowly SP will be driven by fundamentals and finances and not on speculations
At least we are green which is a good sign. Passenger numbers went through the roof this weekend . Biden to report when us/uk corridor opens" in several days" due anytime now. As soon as he does, we are going through the roof!! GLA. DYOR as always.
Ryan air making a lot about EU covid passport and how wonderful and free they are. Feel left out? Should we have an emergency 'Stop Brexit' referendum so we don't feel so left out? And what about Gibraltar? After the land grab of Northern Ireland, Gibraltar is next. You have to ask yourself why the UK covid passport is still not recognised. Our travel and international holiday business has been wrecked from within with direct acts of sabotage. The ambition to ensure the EU opens up leaving the UK behind and restricted on EU travel has been a success.
So whilst many of you will be feeling up beat and positive about falling cases and Ryan air''s latest reporting of paxc numbers on the up, do remember that there continue to be very dark forces at work and UK travel is still very vulnerable to further acts of sabotage as we saw with Portugal and France. We know Merkle was lobbying the US to open routes for the EU but excluding the UK. We need our government to be firstly reconfigured through a major reshuffle and especially Gove being removed, then we need to see some aggressive diplomacy to counter-balance the very aggressive acts coming out of the EU commission. Otherwise, all these positive vibes are going to be stamped out repeatedly over the next 6 months.
With the start of the school holidays reports alot of bookings are up, people want to get away and will do. Hopefully the start of the long road back to recovery!!
That is brilliant. Hopefully we are turning a corner. Covid cases falling too which is a good sign. Lets hope for a good rise this week. GLA.
RYA CEO on Bloomberg this morning saying profit is in sight - hope for airlines after all !!
